Nope, the camera position for both eyes have to be different. This video just puts the flat image about an inch behind the screen. See watch?v=tU8wZy2kEi0 for a working 3D-Example.
you are 1 of the smartasses who jumps to conclusions just because it didn't work for yourself. If you put on the glasses and put it on 720p hd you can clearly see the crosshair being closer than the rest of the screen, and watch the arms of those combine advisor, they really seem to be closer.. Of course it's not in 3d like 'jump out of the screen 3d', if you really thought you'd get that you should've first done some research before posting ur dumbass comment here..
ok noob, i will teach it: you just played hl2 with no special options (WITH ONE PLAYERCAM), and then you put the ONE picture over the same and then you put them a few right and a few left. of course with blue and red filter. the reason why it doesnt work: RECORDED WITH ONE CAM!!!!!! SUPERNOOB
your proof kinda sucks, based on what I said a few comments earlier.. I said that it wasn't 'jump out of the screen 3d', now if there would be difference between the 2 phases in back and foreground, it WOULD be jump out of the screen 3d.. this version just makes the HUD pop out, and objects on the foreground such as the crowbar seem closer.. I'm not someone who has too much money and spends it on an actual 200 dollar 3d system etc.. if you don't like it just don't watch it
Because this is the closest form of 3D you can get by just playing a game with an actual 3D driver installed. This video was made to show what iz3d drivers change. It just changes the athmosphere of the game because the crosshair seems to be right in front of you. I know that you can get an awesome 3d video by filming it with 2 camera's, and edit it afterwards, but there is no software that can do the same while you are actually playing.. iz3d calls their software 3d, so go blame them :P
@PyroMayora Actually..even if the "3D" filter sucked...it's still in 3D!! :P
come on, its that typical Cyan/Red glasses effect..search some pics on internet and you know what I mean...if you can't see that, do what the description says(so sit like 1 meter from of it and it works quite well.)
@PyroMayora ever looked up tutorials for photoshop or what ever to create 3D photos?,
you just need 2 of the same pictures with different tint and it looks just like 3D.(you know,..you start to see depth) that's basically what this iz3d program is doing, it creates 2 pictures of the same frames and gives that 3D look.
you didnt twig it too. you cant just take the same picture 2 time with blue and red tint. the pictures have to are recorded from other angles. its the same like our eyes. do you know why you can squint?
you're talking about 3D as in: seeing an object in every single angle.
this video is in 3D due you can see the depth better(USE THE GLASSES, WITHOUT IT, YOU WILL NOT SEE IT) without the RED/CYAN it would look more flat. while with it(again USE THE GLASSES) you will see more depth. you par example can clearly see that alex is further away from the background than it would if you looked without red/cyan efect etc.
Duhh?.. did I just speak french? Ofcourse I know that you need 2 pictures of video's from different angles, but fyi, I didn't record this and make it 3d afterwards, I actually played this game in 3d with iz3d drivers.. Those drivers automatically pick 2 different angles and that's why it DOES work..
Yeah, unless I get some requests this was the last video for red/cyan glasses anyway, because I ordered a 3D gaming system today, with stereoview and electronical glasses. I might record some video's with that too btw, but unless I get any requests this was my first and last red/cyan glasses video

dude, you're thinking about another 3D.

@jer9carver No. Depth perception still needs different pictures from different angles, and closer objects need to be spaced further apart.

Great video! But it reminded me the sad final episode of HL2 :(
Thanks anyway

Yeah it's sad huh.. Can't wait for episode 3 to come out, I'm sooo curious how they will fix this up :P
negerbaas 2 years ago
It's gotta be a huge game though. They gotta get rid of the Advisors, destroy or use the Borealis, and get rid of all the Combine.
