  • Ever hear of a break in period?

  • Sorry if im wrong, i just couldnt hear a spool. With rear mounts, the spool of the turbo is usually louder than the engine/exhaust.

  • No spool ?

  • for those ls series and others who doubt lt engines see the worlds fastest lt1 and see super chevy 500 hp or the 396 set up yr full of it just because they only made em 5 years doesnt mean their junk reverse cooling still rules if you do it right ya can run 12 .1 compress on pump gas hahahaha try that with a ls1 itll virbate aprt from detonation also the heads ya can gouge em to 275 cfm and look out with fresh air and exausht itll pop yr ls1s cherry or even yr friggon z06 and nitrous ya got 9s

  • people cutting lt1s down are morons and need to get educated ive seen em run a bolt on only matchup and they hit high 11s 12 easily nothing to bitch and cry about the head flow as good as any heads for all out sure maybea ls series or the lt1 396 but for street id rather have the lt1 low end torgue and cheaper to repair by the way mine has 145k and still runs 13s and gets 25 to 27 on the highway

  • I see no turbo...

  • @michaels6speed

you arent supposed to see it. its under the rear bumper

  • 3.73's and your Starting at highway speeds... = loss

  • I'm a believer! I have never seen such gains with so little boost. I have a twin setup in my 2005 GTO. At 6psi each, I'm getting 625hp to the wheels. I'm running a alchy injection system as insurance against the Florida heat. I have had to beef up the drive train, stiffen up the chassis, add better breaks. Added fuel delivery was needed as well. But otherwise it looks bone stock. In 30mph roll ons it's already taken a friends ZR1. I'm considering a Vette Grand Sport with this system.

  • not only that but at 20 seconds you would be able to see the turbo system

  • y in the world would u put a turbo on a lt1 motor those r complete junk!

  • @mxracer578 hUH? I mean ill grant ya they are not the best motors but the LT1 in the 90"s TA's really laid down the law in the performance arena especially for that time. They are good runnning motors that will last a good while if taken care of. A stock LT will still beat alot of sports cars even now. Why do you say they are junk?

  • @mxracer578

lol this was like 4-5yrs ago. he didnt know any better at the time. i told him to just get an ls1

  • @mxracer578 LOL....no need to get all mouthy because so many stock LT1's have raped your junk that you drive. I'll pull two plug wires off my slowest (13.55) bone stock LT1 and still run circles around anything you got, extra chromosome boy. OBTW....Quik Lube called.....your escort wagon is ready, Mr. Cleetus the Slackeyed Yokel.

  • @mxracer578 they cant be a complete junk, if they have been around for more then 40 yrs.

  • @mxracer578 With the right supporting mods the LT1 can handle a lot of power. dont underestimate that motor.

  • @mxracer578 Better then that tiny under powered sorry excuse for a V8 called the 5.Slow

  • @mxracer578 how the fuck is an Lt1 complete junk? please explain...

  • @misfit2910 exactly

  • sorry, did they race at all?

  • lol its funny really just curious why would the car have the cutouts for dual tips if it didnt come with them? you are so fuckin clueless it isnt even funny anymore just continue to pollute the net i dont care like i said your a liar and a fuck

  • search STS 3psi no tune

  • oh just one more thing the STS kit goes where the driver side rear exhaust would normally be and hangs 3in lower clearly visible on any F-body as the video shows it still has the factory exhaust tip in place with no sign of the STS kit just sayin...

  • @zombietx

factory exhaust TIP (singular)? oh thats right, i forgot lt1 trans ams come stock with single exhaust. lmfao fucking retard. i have pics of the car with the turbo installed, and other videos as well. once again, what reason do i have to lie? neither of these slow piles are even my cars!! go play in traffic or somethin u dipshit

  • @dre2013 No dipshit all f-bodies with V8 have dual exhaust tips

you are right about one thing they are both piles

  • @dre2013 fag!!

  • @zombietx If you notice in the video, you can see the intercooler hangin down in the front. You dont really see the STS turbo unless you get down ground level and look. Yes it hangs down a little, but not enough to see from a standing height. You sound like just another mustang douche that thinks they know everything on all your posts here. just sayin.....

  • @wrknunderpresure uh no dude thats a factory airdam with somethin stuck to it not an intercoller and tryin to pass off this piece as a turbo'd TA is just dumb the whole video was stupid and its definitely NOT turbocharged so shut the fuck up its paper thin and has no piping near it pause at 14 seconds and look again fuckin noob

  • @zombietx I looked at the video the 1st time on my phone. Your right, thats not an intercooler, but it could still be turbocharged. Running less than 6psi of boost you don't need an intercooler. Not sure what your deal is against this guy? If its not turbo then he just made the cammed 5.0 look stupid! I own a 01 WS6 thats currently having an LQ9 bored and stroked with a 76mm STS turbo installed. So you can take that noob and choke on it!

  • @wrknunderpresure sorry but when you say things like that last comment it leads me to believe that your a noob so if you genuinely know what your talkin about i apologize my deal with this guy is hes a liar it isnt turbocharged and he made it up im guessin to make us mustang owners look like a bunch of bitches ive owned an STS turbo and that spool is unmistakeable if it were you would know it they sound like fuckin fighter jets if he lied about it being STS im forced to believe its all a lie

  • @zombietx No sweat. Maybe its one of those generic ebay turbo setups! Those come with like a 47mm turbo and a bunch of generic tubing and accessories. People call these STS turbo's when there NOT. Maybe the turbo is to small to see, or its mounted more like an APS turbo at the bottom of the header. Your right about the spool souind, the car should sound like a jet engine under full boost even at only 3psi because the turbo spools all the way up no matter what the waste gate is set at!

  • TOTAL BULLSHIT you arent fooling anyone EVERYONE who has ever heard an STS turbo knows that no matter what the psi the turbo itself sounds like a fuckin F-18 taking off look it up on youtube yourself LOL

  • @zombietx

if any more idiots like u post on this vid i'm disabling comments. shit is annoying. i said it 40 fucking times, the kid had just been installed the night before, was running 3lbs boost with exhaust leaks and no tune. it also cracked a ring a few days later because of no tune.

  • @dre2013 says the dumbfuck that ran a turbo car with no tune as i said before your FULL OF SHIT disable the comments why the fuck would i care? as i and many other people said look up an STS turbo on youtube at 3lbs it still sounds like a fuckin jet it isnt the amount of boost the turbo is putting out or the tune that creates that recognizable sound its the fuckin STS design so just admit you wanted a vid with high ratings and you lied if not dont expect anyone with a brain to believe you

  • @zombietx

lmfao you are a fucking idiot. seriously, kill yourself. i bet you drive a ford focus dont you? first off these were my friends' cars, and he realizes he was a dumbass for running it with no tune and thats why it blew up. what reason do i have to lie? to impress your retarded ass? hahahah. i dont need to explain any more. anyone with half a fuckin brain understands.

  • @dre2013 and as far as the mustang goes even a E-303 cam the mildest cam you can equip a 5.0 with still sounds like its about to die at an idle from the lope you arent fooling anyone that has ever worked on either vehicle what you did was retard the timing to make it sound cammed and im sure you fouled plugs without a clue why further more both of those cars deserve better owners because you obviously dont know the first thing about either one so in closing you are a complete moron

  • @zombietx

if any more idiots like u post on this vid i'm disabling comments. shit is annoying. i said it 40 fucking times, the kid had just been installed the night before, was running 3lbs boost with exhaust leaks and no tune. it also cracked a ring a few days later because of no tune.

  • lol dre they just dont get it i wouldnt bother, 3 ibs of boost explains any question or doubt about the turbo, please post vids when u turn up the boost?

  • @mikedaman454

finally someone with a brain lol..a few days after this the car cracked a ring (due to not having a tune)..engine was rebuilt by a dumbass hilljack and didnt run right so the turbo was pulled off and sold

  • sorry but that 5.0 doesnt have a cam lol

  • oh yea thats true, because i care about youtube so much that i lie about the vids. neither of these are even my fuckin cars lol why would i lie. GM beats ford, it happens almost every time.

  • @dre2013 not in my world buddy

  • only cause your not man enough to admit that fords suck. better than a honda tho.

  • @hotrods100 man enough???

haha ok hotrod lol do u even drive???

  • i second that

  • @dre2013 yeah no

  • wait till the new 5.0 mustang comes out. its gonna ape rape the slomaros and challengers all ... day ... long!

  • @bigorangetrucker

for 40k it better beat everything on the street.

  • who's the dumbass now...? 2dr Conv - MSRP $27,145 2dr Conv GT - MSRP $34,645 2dr Conv GT Premium - MSRP $37,845 2dr Conv Premium - MSRP $30,845 2dr Conv Shelby GT500 - MSRP $53,645 2dr Cpe - MSRP $22,145 ***2dr Cpe GT - MSRP $29,645*** 2dr Cpe GT Premium - MSRP $32,845 2dr Cpe Premium - MSRP $25,845 2dr Cpe Shelby GT500 - MSRP $48,645 (data obtained from NADA.com) far superior performance for a fraction of the price SRT8 = starts at$44,000 Camaro SS = $35145
  • if thats all the boost ur going to run why did u buy the kit?

  • if you're going to post retarded comments why did u watch my video?

i said like 12 times on here that the kit had JUST been installed and only had a base mail order tune just to get it to run/drive.

  • P.S.: I'm a Chevy lover and own a 97 T/A, but I do have respect for good built 5L Mustangs. Love the fox body style :) Also, automatic cars don't necessarily need a blowoff valve, there's no closing of the throttle between shifts...

  • IDIOTS!!! A CAMMED, GEARED and FULL BOLT ON 5L Stang is NO JOKE! They only weigh around 3k lbs and with that much work could easily make over 300hp. 3psi UNTUNED on an LT1 will not likely get you more than a 50hp gain. So the the Trans Am might be making only about 30hp more than the Mustang with stock gears I'm assuming. THIS LOOKS ABOUT RIGHT.

  • @gixxerfanatic a geared/bolt on 5.0 is making low-mid 200whp depending on the bolt ons.. my fox made like 230whp with a small cam, intake manifolds from an explorer and bolt ons.. a head/cam/intake swapped 5.0 can make well over 300wheel :)

  • If the car has exhaust leaks and only 3psi and untuned it is REALLY dumb to race it. I am suprised you didn't blow it up. I would never EVER do that with my car. If it's not right then it doesn't leave the drive way. I have an 03 WRX and it's my baby lol. But also I have an 85 Z28 with a built 327 and I love that too.

  • @getalife04

..and thats why it blew up lmao.. wasnt my car, friend of mine

  • @dre2013 Yeah lol I am not at all surprised that happened lol.

  • 3 PSI? why race? chance of ruining the motor and may make it run worce then b4. lol

  • I dont think that thing has and sts, you would def hear it. They sound like a jet.

I had a rear turbo, it sounded like all boost, barley and rumble if any at all from the v8, jsut the turbo spinin is all you heard.

  • the car was running 3 LBS OF BOOST and UNTUNED WITH EXHAUST LEAKS!! the kit had been on for 2 days.

  • youre a dumb lying cuntbag

  • Yeah, 5.0s start at ~210hp and the LT1s at 285, with boost they're what, ~350+.

    JOKE

  • 225 hp almost 300 lbs torque stock 5 liter.lt1 is 275 hp stock.

  • LT1s start at 275 for the 93-95 models. With boost they're about 370whp.

    watch?v=xnFA93_U9hY

    That's the LS1.

Now all that said, no one can argue that the LT1 will win with boost. I said this on another video where a turbo 5.0 smoked a LT1 all motor too. You can't run a car on boost against a NA an say it was a fair race.

  • @wildbloodydragon cant run a boosted car against a N/A huh? wanna bet?

  • @whtbullitt Lemme guess, you'll point to a NA car with shitload of power. Sure, but it'd still make more power if it was boosted. The fastest LT1 in the world is - you guess it - boosted. Twin turbo to be exact, owned by Big Rick and done by HPE. Did a 8.06 last I checked, must've done a high 7 by now.

  • WOW I can't wait to see what it does on like 10lbs of boost.

  • unfortunetly he sold the turbo kit last year

  • it was not tuboed. end of story. the 5.0s are slow and need a ton of money just to get them to go anywhere. anybody that has owned any lt1 will tell u that.

  • are u on fucking drugs? read the damn description. THE LT1 WAS ONLY ON 3LBS OF BOOST UNTUNED!!! the stang was a mid 13sec car. if it wasnt turbo why the hell would i have put it in the description. at least THEPIZZLE44 has a damn brain on here lol.

  • That was a very funny comment. The 5.0 is just as cheap to mod as the LT1, thank god for push rods!

  • well since its got the sts turbo setup sounds to me like he left off his blow off valve, it aint got shit on it..

A pillar guage inside doesnt mean its got shit.. wow what a fail..

  • just because it doesnt have a blowoff valve doesnt mean it isnt turbo, ive known plenty of turbo cars that dont make obnoxious blowoff, including my buddies STS camaro which did not make a blowoff sound...so your knowledge...what a fail

  • i dont think it is either that mustang wouldnt even have started to pull away i could out run gts and cobras all day long and mine was stock

  • lmaooo out runs cobtas my ass mayb just mayb u can out run a gt lmaoooo fucking joke

  • cobras arnt that much faster than a gt and i wasnt talking about that anyways i dont think that trans am had the sts turbo

  • lmaooo dude ur crazy or just stupid im around mustangs every day i know how much faster a cobra is then a gt ur just bullshiting

  • so a cobra as what 260 maybe 270 horses and like 3.08 gear and a trans am lt1 has 300+ with 3.73 because it cant be an 02 or 03 because it has a 5.0 yea i know my shit i have had a trans am i have had mustangs thats plural i have had more than one

  • I doubt it has a turbo for the simple fact I see no turbo gauges with the sts system and you can get 3psi or more just from ram air. wouldn't be worth it.

  • nah, actually you cant get 3 psi from ram air. PSI is amount of air pressure that is forced in the engine above ambiant. The engine is not going to suck in any more than the amount of vacuum its greating on the intake stroke, no matter how free flowing the air is into the intake. 3psi with the STS kit is worth about 70-80whp or more untuned depending on elevation, etc.

  • Um... no.

You DO get PSI from ram air. Ride a motorcycle with a windshield to 50-60mph then poke your head out from behind it. Behold, force against your head. Pressure is a force, force is PSI.

Motorcycles can get 1psi from ram air alone on the runners. Ram air on a chevy is above ambient. The engine isn't sucking in so much as air is being compressed in, hence PSI from boost. We're not talking free flowing air, we're talking about air stacking to reduce velocity to 0 and compress. Ram air

  • it is turbo. it has gauges on the pillar. and i really hope you don't have a boost gauge with no power adder.

  • wow you r a idiot!!!!!!!!!!

  • no, def not 3 psi. It's all relative to engine speed. If the car were going 65 mph with the engine at idle then yes, pressure is at the ram air. But since 65mph at idle is very difficult to accomplish its more of a neutral pressure 'ram air' effect at say 5,500 rpm. In other words the engine does not have to overcome intake obstructions and restrictions at that speed. That is where a small amount of power is realized. maybe 5-10% max.

  • at 155+ miles you'll get something worth mentioning from Ram Air. The Russian's MiG-15 used a Ram Air intake set up. :) It got alot. and of course, the T/A is untuned people. My bone stock T-56 Formula with only 3.42's mated to the Auburn LSD has beaten quite a few modded 5.0's

  • good run. get some videos up here of your trans am where we can actually hear the turbo!!! my trans am is alost identical to yours but mine has chrome rims...i think you are the only sts turbo lt1 trans am that has videos posted on here...i cant find anyone else and trust me, I have looked lol.

  • I will post more. give me like a month or two, my motor took a shit.

  • okay but you only have two months lol! srry to hear about your motor...if it breaks it gives you an excuse to build it up and make it better!!

  • stock-bottom LT1 and Forced Induction do not mix. In almost every occasion i've seen where a guys goes blower or turbo on the stock internals it doesn't last very long.

  • a 5.0 can handle it for a while with bout 6psi for a long time

  • Actually stock 5-liter bottom ends can handle as much as 12psi of boost with a good tune for a good while. My friend had a '90 GT w/ an S-trim, ported stock E7TE's, ported stock intake, injectors, TB, MAF, full exhaust, Diablo tune...on the stock bottom end. That car was solid to say the least.

  • i was saying 6 on the safe side im hoping to get a 90 gt and building the engine and throwing in a t70 the 302 is so little and packs such a punch

  • 6 is playing it too safe my friend. You can run more boost than that - safely. Trust me! I'd atleast go 8-9psi of boost to be substantial. The key to it is to make sure you have the right fuel and spark items to support the setup. Get a wide-band setup as well to monitor A/F ratios, especially when under boost. And last but DEFINITELY not least, a good tune! And you should be fine. Remember 5.0's came from factory with a compression ratio of just over 9.0:1!

  • thanx

  • it has a built tranny..in this vid it was untuned with 42lb injectors

  • and has 4 separate exhaust leaks so couldn't spool the turbo until 4500rpms+ the maf was disconnected

  • I'm assuming that T/A is basically a stock A4w/ the STS kit and a muffler - and on low boost. No disrespect, but I would expect more than that even on 5#'s. It appeared to take a while to really boost up. I'm not a fan of the STS kits at all - and I have my reasons, trust me. But since your running the kit I would recommend some gears ASAP (3.73's), and some intake and exhaust mods to help that LT breath better. And lastly, build that 4L60E!!
