@cawglock23 anywhere.. thats msrp you can order that rifle railed out and set with the stock for 1850.. granted.. bipod xtra mags and optic are gonna end up putting you to 3k minimum when your done
i have a savage .17 and a .243 and those accutriggers are so amazing, soooo smooth, i hear this is one of the most accurate rifles on the market now and i've been dying to have a larger caliber than my .30-06, so hopefully i will own this gun in the near future, buds has it for $1800 right now
Gotta love the 110 ba. I have a harris bipod, leupold 8.5x25x50 LRT Mark 4 scope with leupold mark 4 rings. I hand load everything that goes through this beast. The recipe Iam comfortable with is Lapua brass, Federal 215 magnum primers, US 869 powder (103 grains with virgin brass and 110 grains with fire formed brass), and I use the Barnes TSX 250gr bullets to top off the round. This thing can easily outshoot me, in the hands of an expert it is truely badass
@broncoblue83 Hello sir, I'm awaiting delivery of a Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20x50mm ER/T for my Savage 110 BA .338 rifle. What size (medium, large) Mark 4 rings are you using for your scope? Thanks.
It is good for long range, and I heard it can do a little over a mile with good accuracy from a friend. When I printed off the ballistics, it said that this rifle is more accurate than the .50 BMG's. Which I though was a plus, cause I did not want to spend $8,000 on a Barrett .50. This rifle has about 3,250 FPS, which is nice.
I recently bought this gun about 4 weeks ago. And may I say it is an awesome rifle! When I bought it, i also bought a $900 scope, which is really nice. The ammunition is expensive though. I spent almost $100 for just 2 boxes of i think a few rounds. So I am spending about $4-5 dollars per bullet.
I have had the honor to shoot one of these rifles! It was by far the best rifle I have ever shot! The trigger was adjusted to 1 1/4lbs and was awesome!! On a 200 yrd paper target, I blew the center completely out! BEAUTIFUL!!
@MadOgre This gun does beat the barrett in terms of accuracy. I did alot of shooting, and printed off the ballistics for it, and it does better than the Barrett.
@XxR0gueSt4tusxX Trajectory, exterior ballistics, yes it does. Accuracy, yes it does... if by the barrett you mean the model 82. But it only fires a 225-250 grain slug and the .50 fires a 640 to 750 grain slug... so Terminal ballistics is in the .50's favor.
HELP. Alright I'm getting this rifle in the next month or so, can somebody tell me the names of some good scops. Nothing outrageous though. PM or comment back. Thanks
@damiiaaannn Plenty. You want to look at some of the new scopes with the Horus reticle system. Burris is bringing some out, as is Leupold I believe. Barring that, Ziess or Nightforce.
@damiiaaannn Hey bud. Great gun you are looking at but a bit of advice... the impression is that you might have more money than experience...? Scope has an e at the end (we all make typing errors and thats probably what happened) but a scope for this rifle, this range capability.... You need make a serious investment of time into your selection... most scopes won't even adjust for a 1200 yard .308 target (yes, I know some will) I recommend a slow, thoughtful approach to your purchase.
Yeah just typed it wrong. I've had plenty of experience, I've owned guns since the late 70's. I have many pistols and rifles but nothing compared to a rifle of this caliber. That's why I was asking for some help.
Thanks for the response. I want this a .338LM and the price is right compared to all the other .338LM rifles I've found. I want to hit coyotes at a mile and this is the sweet spot for price, accuracy and range. I just don't know if I can put a 30 oz. scope on and be legal. Thats why I wanted to take the rail system off. I'd love to keep it, just trying to make it all work legally. I appreciate your videos, good job. Thanks
I live in Idaho where we have a 16 pound limit (including optics, etc.) for hunting. I am wondering if you or anyone reading knows the weight of the rail system. I know it is removable and can be replaced by a single rail but I don't know if it gains me the weight I need. Thanks for any help.
There's no reason why it wouldn't shoot just as well if not better. What you don't get with Savage is the fancy finishes and tight fitting of some non-crucial parts. The barrel-to-receiver alignment and head-spacing is probably better than the Barrett in some rifles. Savage will never be known for military grade rifles or hardcore durability but they will consistently out shoot many rifles costing twice as much.
For the money you can't beat a Savage rifle, I've hunted with them for years and have killed elk, bear, big horn sheep, as well as various other game all with a Savage Tactical 300 win mag with a Nightforce scope. I've hit targets consistently out to 1000 yards, great products. I'll be buying 110BA model this year.
I bought mine last week. I love Savage rifles, they are very accurate, very affordable, and the accu-trigger started a revolution in factory guns. No more creepy 7 lb triggers. It cost me $2100 and that was here in Canada.
Nice review mate. very good i watched twice! they are 3,950nz dollars here in New Zealand. But it was a honour to watch your review and i thank you for that.Regards,Vinny
nice rifle may get one in a few months, ammo is about 4 dollars apiece, but for long range shooting it's not like the owner is going to waste the ammo without getting marksmanship skills. savage has come a long ways.
Fluting is not just increased cooling, it's increased heating as well! Remember that!

I have the 300WM version of this. I would not say the bolt is smooth. But it is a great rifle.

@deltaleader71 Hit it with some Slipstream Grease and Oil. I'd suggest the Slipstream Styx oil. Your gun will be smooth.

@MadOgre I'll give it a shot. Still pretty new gun. I figured I need to break it in a bit. Thanks.

MOA?

@ScoundrelzNTwK SUB.... but with good ammo, local owners have reported 1/4 MOA.
MadOgre 3 months ago
@MadOgre would 1/2 MOA be a fair assessment with factory match ammo?

@9009pepper Just get a lighter gun. Savage makes other rifles, so it makes no sense to spend more to take the extra stuff off.

@9009pepper Well, .338 LM does have that ability. Another option is the .338 Remington Ultra Magnum chambered in the Sendero rifle.
