Peak oil is real. The only question is how soon it will happen. The following are facts that are readily available online and come from the oil and gas industry themselves.
1. Most of the worlds large oilfields are in decline, something that oilfields rarely come out of.
2. Oil field discoveries have been trending down for 20 years.

I know that a lot of crazy environmentalists believe in peak oil and secretly relish going back to pre industrial life and that some of the proponents of peak oil like Mathew Simmons are CFR, but facts are facts. All of the things I said in my comment below are true, if you doubt it I will give you the evidence. If they are true then it's only a matter of time before oil becomes much more expensive.
