  • really dig the gun man. the only thing i dont care for is the ar style stock, i would have kept it wood but its just personal preference. awesome setup though. those sights are slick

  • Glad you like the setup bro. Yea I sold the stock, I'm waiting for the new magpul rig for the 870. Saw it at shot show, so SICK.

  • How did you get that magpul stock on there? is there a special attachment for it or maybe you could shoot me a video of how you put it on

  • Yea, it's the Mesa LEO adapter.

  • ninja catch on the shell

  • Ha Ha, yea...

  • Were did you get the forearm from for your 870

  • No, I sold everything on gunbroker.

  • From a local gun shop.

  • Great looking 870. I'm doing the exact same thing with mine except I decided to go with a tri rail for end

  • I'll sell you the stock, adapter, grip and buffer from mine if you want?

  • @SinCityReview depends on the price but I'm interested.

  • I PM'ed you.

  • @SinCityReview are you still selling them?

  • Can you message me the model and make of your stock with the compressing shock absorber. I want to order exactly what you've set up.

    Derek - WRATHCHILD29@gmail.com

  • I make my own snap caps.

  • Cool...

  • Where can I get those snap caps!

  • I think I got mine at bass pro shop.

  • I posted up the new video below.

  • God, I can't wait to get this gun!

  • I just refinished it, I'll send you the link.

  • the only way it could be better is if you changed the forestock

  • I did check out my latest video.

  • Oooo fuck ya man cant wait!

  • See*

  • Ah i srr

  • Lol its all good. Sick room broom tho!

  • Thanks, Room Broom! I love that. I just re-sprayed and nitre blued my 870. It's uploading as we speak, I'll send you the link when it uploads. It's Grose!!!

  • Howd u get the magpul stock on there?

  • With the mesa tactical LEO stock adapter.

  • Thats badass but u talk fast lol

  • Yea, too much coffee...

  • Looks very practical and thought thru.

  • Thank you.

  • Thats a very nice custom Shotgun...I Like It alot! You have good taste in customizing

  • Thanks man...

  • Do you use any slugs other than the Remingtons on the table? I always got Sluggers from the start, but I've wondered if there'd be something out there just a little nicer for the ~$1/shot. (I can't tell what those other boxes are via Youtube.)

  • Federal slugs are usually inexpensive.

  • what was the process of getting your shotgun vang comped. You had to send the entire rifle to them right? im curious about the process of it because i will be getting a 870 soon. Did you need a FFL to ship it?

  • I actually just bought one of thier barrels on sale and installed it myself. I didn't send them my shotgun.

  • @SinCityReview cool thanks

  • whats the finish on the gun?

  • This is duracoat, but I just stripped it down and will be cerakoting soon.

  • Probably the best build, other than mine :) Most on here use sub par parts and call it the best. I agree Quality cost, no way around it.

  • Thanks, I agree 100%

  • good for home defence and killing zombies

  • exactly!!!!

  • thats beautiful!

  • Where did you find your riot grip?

  • at a local gun shop.

  • @SinCityReview Yeah i've decided to go with a vertical grip and just use the normal stock slide. Any recommendations?

  • For the grip itself, I would use a magpul MOE forward grip.

  • I think that paying almost $1000 for a shotgun with the purpose of only home defense is on the extravagant side. That's almost what you'd pay for a high end semi-auto shotgun or AR15. I think mostly this gun is a labor of love and has there's plenty of "man, this *blank* looks so cool on my gun". I bring this up because a pump shotgun can be purchased for about $300-$400 without needing all that cool stuff added on.

  • @PointyMetalObjects You can tack on a good light, mount, and side saddle for another $50 or so. Still shoots like a champ.

  • All my guns are custom. Each one of them has at least $1,000.00 of custom upgrades dumped into them after the price of the gun. Do you need all the stuff I add on? No, absolutely not, but I like having custom work that no one else has. I spare no expense. From my cars, to my house, and of course my firearms, everything I own is custom and unique, It's a way of life for me. Plus who wants to see another boring video of a stock out of the box gun that thousands of other people own? Not me....

  • @SinCityReview Right, that's pretty obvious with that uber pump you have there. I was just talking about the fact you don't need to trick out a gun as thoroughly as you did for it to be usable in a defensive role. I spend a lot of time and money on my own guns too. I refuse to quit until my AR15 is cool enough to shoot lasers based solely on principle.

  • I agree 100%, In a defensive situation the 870 at Big5 on sale for 300 bucks works just as well as mine for over 1000. When it all comes down to it, it's whatever works for you. Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, modified or stock I love them all.

  • do you know if that stock will handle 31/2" mag or will it hurt the spring?

  • It handles the 3 1/2 inch mags just fine for me.

  • Dont mean anything bad, but when doing a video, It might be better if __you__ didnt__ talk__ SO__ FAST__! When I taught classes in the Army I found that when I covered ALOT of information quickly, not everyone could keep up:) Thanks, Thats a good video. Same weapon I use:) Later

  • I agree, I made this video back when I was only allowed 10 minutes. That's why I had to talk so fast to squeeze everything in. Now I can make them an hour if I want. After I spray my 870 with cerakote I'll make a better video.

    Peace....

  • It's the trueglow TGH3

  • I really like your shotgun !

Can you tell me the name of your front sight ? (Sorry if you have said in the video, i don't understand very well).

  • Lets go pig hunting!!

  • only thing id change is id put a black grip to match and id at a reflex sight

  • Yea I have a houge, but I like my classic riot grip better.

  • You don't need the side saddle.

  • I know but I like it.

  • @SinCityReview how much do remington 870 wingmaster go for? I have the one with the shiny finish. HOw much would they sell in very good condition. I know remingtons website sells them above 600 to 700.

  • Find out what your model is called, then go to gunbroker and see what people are asking for it.

  • @SinCityReview And thats all that matters in the end.

  • For sure..

  • Thanks for the video. You've got an awesome setup. I'm considering the 870 for home defense also. What is the difference between the "tactical" and the regular 870?

  • I believe it's the breaching device and the gohst ring sights

  • I don't really understand the Vang Comp....sure it tightens the patterns, but isn't the point of a shotgun is that the shot spreads?, increasing the chance of catching the target with a buckshot? Nice gun BTW..

  • @JNT20 That's the point if you're hunting birds. The point of a home defense shotgun is to produce a devastating wound sufficient to shut off the supply of oxygenated blood from the brain of the intruder thus stopping the attack quickly. That's all.

  • Agreed...

  • @malberts1954 your shotty still looks classy but dangerous lol.

  • Thanks

  • It doesn't tighten up the pattern, it doesn't compact the shot so that it can evenley spread.

  • Thanks for the website. I really like your set up and would like to make my 870 very similar. I was unable to find the the front site you have though.. and I was only able to find the magpul ctr on Amazon.. any other sites or stores you were using?

  • Just check out my video, then go to yahoo and type in what you want, that's what i do

  • you get to the point, talk fast, and dont mess around.. love the reviews man

  • First off thank you for this post. Very informative, and helpful. Secondly, I would like to know some of the places that you purchased your upgrades as I am looking to make some changes to my 870 .

  • I;m glad you like the video, Go to tacticalshotgunner, it's where i got most of my stuff.

  • Nice looking gun. What is the finished weight of the gun? Does your wife like the way it fits her when shooting? Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks, it weighs in at 7.2 Lbs, My wife can operate it well, but she prefers her glock 19.

  • have you ever used this for home defense? no offense meant

  • Are you asking me if anyone has ever broken into my house, and I had to shoot them? If so no, and I hope that never does happen.

  • Back what? "back board?" Is that what you said? I've never heard of a feature which could make the buck shot more even. I'm dying to know more about that. Thanks for the video, 'cuz I wouldn't have known that.

  • Yes, Back-boring is something that Hans Vang does to his shotgun barrels. They are also ported. Check out the info at vangcomp.

  • the first one u showed is that a training shell if so where did u get it

  • There are all kinds, most local gun shops carry them. I got mine from bass pro shop.

  • can u send me a link where i can get that stock set up and how dos it install what the pistol grip?

  • Go to tacticalshotgunner for the stock setup, the gip is a magpul miad. I explain everything on the gun in my video.

  • how much did all that cost you?

  • Right now it will cost you around $1,500.00 I did it for right at $1,000.00 but I got my 870 for 100.00 and my vangcomp barrel for 200.00 I bought most of the other parts from one shop, so I got a bulk discount.

  • Thanks for the video! Your 870 is a very nice gun!

  • Who is this 'we'? You were in the revolutionary war? I have a theory - Did you know the country with the highest rates of male impotency is America? Which probably has something to do with your over-fascination for guns. The reason you don't care is because it conflicts with your life style choice of having guns laying around the house. Your house cannot be as secure as you claim if you need to have guns at the ready 24/7.

  • ....

  • ....

  • We is america, and impotency is not a problem I have. My fascination with firearms comes from a love of all things mechanical, watches, engines, ect. I don't care cause it's an out of date report. Even if it was current I still wouldn't care because my neighborhood is very safe, and I don't live in fear. I do not have guns lying around my house, I have a shotgun next to my nightstand. The rest are locked up safe. I don't need to have my shotgun out and ready, I LIKE it out. There's a difference

  • @SinCityReview Fair enough, nice gun though

  • Thanks man, I'm glad you like it.

  • @SinCityReview where do i get the buffer tube

  • at the tacticalshotgunner

  • @SinCityReview thank you sir

  • In the UK here, bout to purchase an 870. So many people talking about "home defence". What a joke lol.

  • ??? In the UK very few people have shotguns, even less have rifles. There are certain land requirements for both, and there are no handguns. In the states there are tons of people with firearms, both good and bad. Home defence is about protecting your lovedones. Why is that a joke?

  • @SinCityReview You can own a shotgun and rifle in the UK without any land, who ever told you that is lying or you just made an ill-informed assumption. And the fact that there are 'tons of people with firearms' only adds to the problem. Over 600k guns were stolen from homes in the US in 1996. I'm glad I live in a country with stricter gun laws than yours. I'm not against owing weapons, just proper storage of them, buying a grip 'cos 'it looks really nice next to my dresser' implies you don't.

  • Well I was given bad information. Who cares about 1996 it was 15 years ago. Next to my nightstand is proper storage. I don't have kids so I don't have to worry about that. I also have a top rate security system with a armed response right in my neighborhood. If someone robs my house while im away, thats what my insurance is for. If they try to rob me while im at home, I'll be up with my 870 in less then a second. Haveing to fiddle with a safe to get it out could cost me my life.

  • @SinCityReview That is the most recent gun theft from homes I could find. By your logic of not caring about things that happened in the past, who cares about 9/11? That was 10 years ago. Anyway I've made my point, enjoy doing your paranoid practice runs round your home.

  • It's being prepared, not paranoia. Shut your little bitch mouth about 911, no americans want to here anything you have to say about it. I do care about histoy, I just don't care about your stupid statistics from 1996 on gun theft. Maybe you recall a little something in history called the revolutionary war. That's where we americans knocked your british dicks in the dirt and sent you crying back to your little island. It must be very hard being so evious of our gun rights. Love the ugly american.

  • whats the best shell for long distance also what barell size

  • A rifled slug barrel 20+inches with hornady SST slugs

  • how much did that barrel set you back? and did u send yours in or buy it from vang?

  • great video!

  • you could just use spent shells

  • yea but the percussion cap is spent, the snap caps have a spring loaded cap. So the fireing pin has something to rebound against every time.

  • @SinCityReview ooook either way its not really gunna hurt your gun

  • True, but I had to do something with my bass pro giftcard.

  • @SinCityReview haha coooooooooool =]

  • i keep coming back to this video. i have now labeled it, the best looking shotgun ever. vang comp barrel??? thats perfect. my dads friend works for them and he says those ports work sooo well to cut down recoil.

  • Well thanks man I really appreciate that. Yes It;s a vang comp barrel. I met Hans Vang at the shot show a week ago. Funny guy. I agree, the ports do cut down the recoil.

  • i dont think your gun should match your furnature

  • Well it sits next to my night stand, so why not?

  • wow $100, YOU JUST GOT THE BEST DEAL OF YOUR LIFE... im jealous, ive got an 870, but not the wingmaster haha, im jealous you got it for $100 instead of $310

  • im sorry i couldnt really understand you what kinf of stock is that?

  • It's a magpul CTR stock, Mesa Leo stock adapter, and Enidine shock absorber.

  • probably the cleanest HD setup ive seen

  • Thanks man.

  • Those sights are awesome! Where did you get them? I'm from Vegas too. Did you get them out here? Thx, AWESOME BUILD!!!!

  • The rear sight is an LPA ghost ring I had Nighthawk put on and the front sight is a trueglow TGH3 I found somewhere online. Thanks.

  • Cool, glad you liked it. Yea the enidine is pricey but it saves your shoulder, and makes shooting a pump a lot more fun.

  • that is the sweetest shotgun i have ever seen gj

  • Hey thanks man, I appreciate that.

  • Hello, could you tell me if the spring length used with a magazine extention tube differs from the sping lenght without an extention ??

    Thanks, leo

  • Yes it does differ. Usually when you buy a magazine extension it will come with a longer spring callibrated for the shotgun it's made for.

  • sweet gun...hate the wood grip get a black polycarb one!

  • I have a couple of black forgrips, i just like the riot grip best.

  • Great walkthrough. Shame to see a Wingmaster stripped though. Still, great info and well explained. You mentioned doing practice runs through the house. Does your wife do them too or does she do the eye-roll?

  • Thanks. Ha Ha, she does them every now and then but mostly I get the eye-roll.

  • Got your messages and links thanks again

  • Awesome gun, I was curious if u can put up a parts list for your stock set up and the front light rail I've been looking for a decent recoil reducer setup, if heard of a spec ops version but have read many times of it sticking and acting like a solid stock and cheek slapping people, I'd rather avoid a part if there's even a chance of that? Any tips and info would be great

  • The Mesa Tactical Magazine Clamp with light rail Rail is what I have up front.

The piece you need for the stock is the Mesa LEO telescoping stock adapter. Then you can add the Enidine recoil shock reducer and any AR style stock you like. You ca find them both at tacticalshotgunner, i'II PM you the links.

  • very nice gun i love it looks great i wish i could do that to mine but its a charles daly 20g and i dont think its compadible with anything

  • Thanks,

  • Excellent, methodical video. You sold me on the 870 and a build similar to yours, though I don't think I'm going to get quite the deal you had.

I have some questions about your ghost rings — how much did Nighthawk charge you for the LPA sights and rail? How long did it take? Did you have to go through a FFL to send it off?

Lastly, where do you get your custom fiber optic? One from Jay Hard.

  • Cool, glad I could help. You'll love the 870. I can't remember of the top of my head, but I want to say under 100.00 Just call up nighthawk and ask for lary. Tell him that kevin from las vegas sent you and he'll probably give you a deal. It took about a week and a half. No just send them your stripped frame through UPS. You can find the one I got from Jay Hard at his site. I'll PM you the link.

  • The build turned out outstanding really did a great job. My only question is on the back of the rifle were you had the magpul stock and buffer tube...were can I buy that portion to but on my own shutgun??? I already own the stock I run the same one on my AR.15 just that last section iv been looking for and cant find...appreciate the feedback when you get the time. if you could shoot it to me in a message on here that owuld be great

    have a good one!

  • Hey thanks, The piece you need is the Mesa LEO telescoping stock adapter. Then you can add either the Enidine recoil shock reducer or just a regular buffer tube.

You ca find them both at tacticalshotgunner, i'II PM you the links.

  • Please let me know when you do the sheetrock test with those HD rounds and hopefully u can pick up some 2x4 HD rounds because thats what i have and would like to see how well it works. Alright sorry to keep buggin ya. Thx!

  • Cool I'll let you know.

  • Oh I also own a box of those HD rounds but unsure if i trust them. I'm thinkin on a real cold night and someone has mad layers on, if those rounds will penetrate before he loads me full of 45 cal. I have the 1st 2 shells the HD rounds and if that doesnt do the trick I have 1 buck winchester X 24 pellet with a great spread compared to most buck shot. Sound gd? Then i'll load the rest with 12 pellet 00buck. Whats the little white beeds in the HD rounds for? I took apart and didnt understand it.

  • Sounds like a good combo to me. I believe the little white beads are to keep the shot seperate to allow for even disbursement of the shot. I like to keep the HD rounds in the tube and 00buck in the saddle.

  • when u have the shells in the saddle upside down dont those fall out when u fire the rounds in the gun? It sure seemed like you popped that shell out with ease. Mine you kinda have to tug n pull to get it out and they still eventually slide out after firing a few slugs. I understand why you'd wantem upside down for loading speed but if they're falling out it may be best to just keep em upright. Ya think? You have good taste, my mossberg iss setup just like that almost to a T. Looks good bro!

  • The shells in the side saddle are very secure. I've never had them fall out while firing slugs or buck shot. There is a little rubber tube that runs through the saddle to keep th shells in with friction. I gues once the tube starts to wear, I'll have to replace it. Thanks I'm glad you like it.

  • Never Owned a gun before. should i got with Remington or Mossberg?

  • I would go with a remington, In my opinion they are just better built. Either way you can't go wrong, they are both great shotguns. Check out BIG 5, they have a revolving sale on both of them.

  • What is your thought on a semi shotgun. I have a pump and have considered adding a semi too my arsenal.

  • I've been wanting to build a saiga 12, but am not confident with it's reliability.

I would sugest either a Remington 1100 in a tacticl format or the Benelli M4. Both are great shotguns.

  • Nice Work!

Im going to make my shotgun look like yours

  • awsome, if you have any questions let me know

  • @SinCityReview I'm still looking for a good lookin' forend like yours. BTW, did you paint your receiver and your adapter? What did you use? Thanks again bro!

  • I duracoated it in combat black. good luck.

  • my god son if a zombie invasion happens youd be all set

  • LOL, yea that would be sweet.

  • @SinCityReview damn strate mate nice review

  • That is one sexy, classic tactical 870! I guess I'll join the pool of peeps that's been asking you where you got your wooden forend?

    Thanks for sharing the beast!
