Why people believe that not believing in 'eternal torment' undermines the gospel or the need for repentance is beyond me.. The motivation for turning to the truth should not be the threat of torture, but the love of God through Christ..
as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable [people] twist to their own destruction, as [they do] also the rest of the Scriptures (2 Peter 3:16)
lol. Go away you spirit of the Antichrist. Those of you who know the Word of God for what it really is will know that what I say is true, cause I speak directly from the Word of God. Nothing is taken out of context. I quote it exactly as it is written. But as for you BLISSBOXMUSIC, be prepared to give an account of yourself to God for speaking lies and deceiving people into an eternal, everlasting torment of hell fire & brimstone who shall be TORMENTED forever and ever which is the second death.
@BLISSBOXMUSIC "There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and ‘you’ yourselves thrust out!" (Luke 13:28)
"But unless you repent you will all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)
"Be ye holy; for I AM holy... without holiness no one will see the LORD." (1 Peter 1:16... Hebrews 12:14)
"Should you not fear Me? declares the LORD. Should you not tremble in My presence?" (Jeremiah 5:22)
"Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure having this seal: The Lord knows them that are His. And let every one that names the Name of Christ depart from iniquity." (2 Timothy 2:19)
"And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENTS, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said; Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am TORMENTED in this flame!" (Luke 16:23-24)
"These shall be ‘punished’ with ➤ EVERLASTING DESTRUCTION from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power..." (2 Thessalonians 1:9)
Again, every stupid thing you post, I tear down!! ✓
"And the devil that ‘deceived them’ was cast into the LAKE of FIRE and BRIMSTONE, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be TORMENTED day and night forever and ever!" (Revelation 20:10)
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the LAKE which BURNS with FIRE and BRIMSTONE: which is the second death!" (Revelation 21:8)
"But let him that glories, glory in this; that he understands and knows Me, that I AM the LORD which exercise ¹lovingkindness, ²judgment, and ³righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD." (Jeremiah 9:24)
& Isaiah 26:9
"The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness has seized the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with ➤ everlasting burnings?" (Isaiah 33:14)
Have you read: Mark 9:43-48? Why would Jesus say that?
@BLISSBOXMUSIC: Once again; obviously, you don't know your own Scripture. What a shame. :(
"And if any man hear My Words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejects Me, and receives not My Words, has One that judges him: The Word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." (John 12:47-48)
"Add thou not unto His Words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar." (Proverbs 30:6)
If we look at 1 Cor.15 we see "The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death" So an ETERNAL hell cannot be so furthermore the greek for endless is ATELEUTETOS yet jesus used AIONIOS.
furthermore the wicked in Matthew 25 go to "aionios kolasis" which is greek for age-enduring PUNISHMENT/PRUNING, so utter destruction cannot be so, since the wicked are NOT nuked/destroyed utterly.
Actually the solution is much simpler and ALL need to see verses like this and see God saves all
Romans 5:19 "for as through the disobedience of the one man,THE MANY were constituted sinners: so also through the obedience of the one, shall THE MANY be constituted righteous."
If you take the book of revelation as the end of Gods plan then of course universal salvation would not make sense; but if you look at Paul's writings and see God will be "all in ALL" then you see love Never fails.
The Bible does not teach eternal punishment. God's love and mercy endures forever. Does it really endure forever or only in this life? How can it be Good News if it doesn't translate to the afterlife?
1 Timothy 4:10- This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers.
Then shall He say also to them on the left hand: Depart from Me, you cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels! ⎯ Matthew 25:41
And in HELL he lift up his eyes, being in TORMENTS, and seeing Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said: Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am TORMENTED in this flame!! ⎯ Luke 16:23-24
This video is totally deceptive and is pure twisted false doctrine!
The spirit of antichrist created this video to deceive many to hell.
Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? ⎯ Isaiah 33:14
. . . he shall be tormented with FIRE and BRIMSTONE in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascends up FOREVER and EVER: and they have no rest day nor night . . . ⎯ Revelation 14:10-11
@TheEndTimesAreHere , Forever??????????....dont you mean aion or aionios?....was not Jonah in the belly of the large fish for"aionios"?..........but Jesus said he was there 3 days and 3 nights, hence aion/aionios(the plural of aion=forever or forevers?)cannot and does not mean forever, or do you not trust the words of the saviour????.........hell is an infantile spiritual belief, study the subject a little please...:¬)
If thy hand offend thee, cut it off: It is better for thee to enter into LIFE maimed than having two hands to go into HELL, into the FIRE that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dies not and the FIRE is not quenched. ⎯ Mark 9:43-44
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the LAKE of FIRE and BRIMSTONE where the beast and the false prophet are and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever! ⎯ Revelation 20:10
It would be better for him if he had not been born! ⎯ Mark 14:21
The eternal destruction is the natural consequence of sin , because in the Bible ,at Gnesis 2:7 appear this calculation : the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and the man became a living soul.
Get the book The Aqua Oracle by Ty Anderson, it is the best book on Universalism I have ever read. You can find it at amazon. Check out the chapter titles of this book, very intense.
I am so glad to have seen the light on this issue. God's anger will not burn forever! What a terrible portrait we have painted of God with this neverending torment doctrince.
@jason66801 if we are spiritually dead whilst alive are we in "hell" given the bible tells us we are born "spiritually dead" ? what are you talking about man?
If sinners are tortured forever in hell when they die, what happened to Jesus if he became sin for us? Also, if we live after we die, then what is the point of the resurrection? Also, since people die and go to hell to burn forever, do only those people who die before the lake of fire stay in hell, or do all people get transferred to the lake of fire? (Hell is not the lake of fire) = Revelation 20:14. These are questions we all must think about.
Wonderful video and great music! Most Christians see Hell with a philisophical detatchment. I was that way for many years. Last year, however, God led me to a deeper contemplation of Hell, which crushed me. I can no longer believe in eternal torment of the unforgiven.
I have a dozen little puppies - I own them, they BELONG to me. They're really cute, but most of them are less grateful than I think they should be, and some even fail to obey me. So I'm gonna put them in a metal garbage can, sprinkle them with gasoline, and burn them. Not all at once, just a little every day to see how long I can keep them squealing and squirming. I'm not God so it won't be for ever, but I'll do my best... Hey, I love 'em!
We disagree on what we believe because we stick to what we are taught. But make no mistake: God is holy and He will punish sinners if they do not repent. If we serve the same Jesus (and I pray we do), then we should be united in Him for lost souls.
Okay, I've written a lot here. I'm not going to debate the Annihilation theory anymore. I do not care what the Atheists say and I don't care what the Seventh Day Adventists say. I care what the Bible says. And the Bible says that God does not want ANY to perish but ALL to come unto repentance. THAT part of the Bible is NOT up for debate. If you debate God's desire for humanity, read 1st John.
If we continue to live in sin, straddle the fence, play games with God and keep looking for loopholes in Scripture regarding the Judgement, we'll find out that there is a hell. Personally. Either Jesus is Lord, or He isn't.
James 4:4; You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
I'm not talking about doing works (being baptized, praying, reading the Bible, going to church, giving to the poor, etc.); I'm talking about the condition of our souls. If Christ is our Savior and Lord, then we don't need to worry about going to hell.
Ephesians 2:9; For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
But it says in 2 Peter that God made Sodom and Gomorrah an example to those who afterward should live ungodly. They will be burned up and consumed becausr the wages of sin is death.
God destroyed the actual cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, yes. His Judgement was both physical and spiritual. That is always the end result of unrepented sin. Everything was turned to ashes, as were the physical bodies of the unrepentant inhabitants who lived in them, but why would Jesus have said that on the Day of Judgement, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah than Bethsaida and Chorazin?
Revelation 20:13-15; And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
John 5:28-29; Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
I am sorry, brother/sister, but this topic is heavy on my heart. I love discussing and sharing The Word, but this is taking a lot out of me. It's too depressing. We don't/can't understand what eternity is with the gray matter behind our eyes. Our finite minds cannot even scratch the surface of the infinite. We think of ways of dealing with the grief and loss because the thought of existing outside The presence of The Lord would drive any Believer insane.
Genesis 1:26-27; And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Matthew 23:33; Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mark 9:43-44; And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
I believe in the lake of fire and I believe the Bible teaches that people are punished after the judgment and that they will burn in the lake of fire and perish and consume then die. I believe this is what the Bible clearly teaches. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by eternal fire but they are not still burning today (Jude 1:7)
Jude wasn't referring to the actual geographical cities themselves, but the people who lived in them. Did the houses, shops, buildings and roads give themselves up to fornication? No. The people did.
Matthew 11:23-24; And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.
2 Corinthians 4:18; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Demons are invisible to the human eye, but they still exist nevertheless.
God will NOT kill or annihilate Satan and his angels (the demons). They WILL exist forever in the lake of fire and the lake of fire will never be quenched.
Luke 20:34-36; And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Satan is a fallen angel. The fact that he has fallen does not mean that he is no longer an angel; merely a fallen one. If fallen angels do not die, where are they supposed to spend eternity since they are no longer permitted to be in heaven?
In 1 Cor. 15, Paul said that which is corruptible will put on incorruption, and that which is mortal will put on immortality. Hypothetically speaking, if our souls are just as mortal as our earthly bodies, we won't be with Christ forever, will we? If God has given our souls a time limit, then "eternity" is up for interpretation, isn't it?
I believe the Bible teaches that immortality is a gift for the righteous. When Adam and Eve sinned did they die fully or did their soul go to eternal hell?
The Bible does not say what happened to Adam and Eve's souls. It does say that after Cain killed Abel, Cain was driven out of the presence of The Lord. That makes me think that though Adam and Eve were still under the curse, God was still with them. Again, the Bible doesn't say what happened to them, but they still believed in God and understood firsthand that He means business. I believe God spared them damnation, and they saw Him again after Christ died on the cross.
God made Man in His image. Unlike the animals, birds, fish, etc. we have immortal souls. We are spirit beings who live in physical bodies. God does not uncreate the spiritual. When our immortal souls leave our bodies, they either go to heaven or hell. God is the only one with the power and authority to create something out of nothing. The breath goes back to the One who gave it, but the soul will never cease to exist. Animals do not have souls. They have personalities & instincts, but not souls.
Jesus never mentioned names in parables. He didn't say what the rich man's name was out of respect for his family. It doesn't matter what his name was. Jesus wanted us to examine ourselves and our own motives. We will all face God one day and we won't be able to wag our fingers at anyone else.
The belief of the day was that Lazarus, the poor man, must have been a sinner because he lived in squalor, while the unnamed rich man who lived in luxury and plenty was greatly favored by God. Read the book of Job. Notice how all Job's friends kept insisting that Job had unconfessed sin in his life because God wouldn't punish a just & righteous person. Jesus' turned that theory over on their heads. Earthly riches (or lack thereof) are not an indication of one's godliness or righteousness.
I am tending to agree on all your points as I am a Jew and we do not believe in eternal damnation but what of those passages in the NT that mention "the smoke of their torment rising" and "wailing and gnashing of teeth", also the parable of Lazurus and the poor man with the "great gulf" affixed and Lazurus wanting water as he could not take the heat ?? Am I reading these greek writings incorrectly?
I'm so glad more and more people are understanding this truth. The idea that God would torture his creation for eternities is absurd. Even Satan will be destroyed (Ezekiel 28:19).
He is a loving God, BUT he is also a Holy God. It's your choice to go to Heaven or Hell! HEAVEN IS A FREE GIFT!! All you have to do is accept Christ into your heart.
God is a loveing God, but he is also a just God. and his justice reqire the destruction of sin. He loves us. But if we dont accept jesus christ as our savior then we must go to hell because the price of sin is death.
@flarezone Hell wasnt invented until 700AD so it wasnt in the original Greek the Bible was written in friend.
Jesus spoke of Gehenna...a garbage dump and hades/sheol (Gk Hb), both of which means 'something hidden/unsee', NEVER a place of endless torment.
Historians say that hell was a creation to keep the simple in line...Even Christian Historians. Love (God) simply just would not torcher MOST of humanity forever, its blasphemy. His mercy ENDURES FOREVER.
@FRIENDOFMANKIND , I tend to agree with your response but what of the parable that Jesus spoke of on "Lazurus and the Rich man" where the rich man is in torment yearning for water and there being a great gulf affixed between him and man?? At times I wonder if these text were tampered with. Torah is my foundation for everything and these greek writings at times seem to undermine or contradict Torah. I would like to hear your view sir.
Question? What if the word of God means what it says and that "Torment/Burn" forever means just that. Why would you want to even take the chance, that it could be true? I can see the devil just licking his chops saying, look at em they think there so intellctual that they know more than God,see he recognizes himself when that happens that's what caused his fall and sealed his fate, he knows we are Gods most precious creations & he knows he can't go to heaven, but we can. I'm praying 4 us all.
Give it up Ichiddle, you are only hurting the cause of God by continuing to believe this lie. HELL is not real in the sense you believe, the lake of fire is. Understand terms like: death, second death, perish, no more and several others as to what they mean.
Second death is the transition from physical reality to Hell, the authors used death as a negative to oppose "eternal life" which is a positive, eternal death, below, darkness anything opposite of positive. The rest of what you say all comes down to opinion.
Matt 25:41 - "Then He will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:"
Rev 20:10 - The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Rev 20:15 - And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

God has foretold that most will not believe what is about to come
to pass, not even as this world is plunged into the most cataclysmic times it has ever seen. The possibility of such events occurring may seem incredulous to you, perhaps so much so, that you dont want to read any farther. But just in case... if there is the slightest possibility...
wouldnt it be wise for you to know what to look for, so that if indeed it does occur, exactly like this book says..
Ya know when I think of the countless many times GOD has intervened in My life and others around me, and How many times Did I not refuse to see the truth before me? How ashamed I am that He gave me so many chances to 'seek and find' the answers to my Greatest questions, Now that I have finally come to the truth, the unadulterated (Pure) Truth of His word I can honestly say I'd rather Serve God and be a good person, (or as good as I can be) than to Wind up being lost, speperated and Alone!
Thank GOD above I am Not alone In whom has come to know truth!
Because of Satans Cause His False and Perverse doctrine has divided Gods people!!
Ya know For me Hell is being Seperated from Our Lord! and what I found out is that it's Not TORMENT instead it's an Eternal Punishment for those who refuse to accept Him! so..
Those who refuse Christ after the 1000 year reign and after being "Ressurected" will then die a "second death"
This is everlasting never to be brought to Life again!
since you are on the earth or hell. your only sense of heaven is in the torah. Mamoindes belived that heaven was a library where you study. to each is own.
why would you get punished in death it makes no sense. its the physical form that causes sin. your soul is pure so why should it be held accountable for the acts of the walking corpse
its an easy debate. THERE IS NO HELL according to classic-judaism. modern judaism has a hell but it is more of a 12 month period, with rest on the sabbath, the enternal flame really refers to shame. and their is no actual brimstone and ash.
the fact is the jews during Yeshouhas time were deep into the thought of dualism, and that in itself is not Hebrewism. it is much easier to understand that earth itself is 'hell'. thats why according to torah you only get physical or communal punishments
Excellent arguements in this vid. I used to believe in the 'traditional view' of eternal punishment but now I believe in the biblical view - that sinners will die / be destroyed
@jdfrusher If you have saw Angelica Zambrano she says the hell is forever and it's too late after you got punished and that God didn't create hell for humans but for satan and his angels
Good video. We need to keep shouting that TRUTH from the rooftops until everyone [Especially every Christian] hears it. It breaks my whenever I think of the countless numbers of people who never came to Christ because of the LIE regarding what happens to the unsaved.
It makes me upset too, knowing the only Reason (before I returned to The Lord) I chose to believe and accept was out of Fear, Not for my salvation, but for my Family's! THEY do Not believe in God, well My mother and younger brother and myself are basically the only ones in Our extended family who do!
It still saddens me, but at least there IS still Hope!
GOD is just to amazing for words! I can't express how much He has done in our lives! I LOVE YOU Lord!
Matthew 25:46 And these shall be coming away into chastening eonian, yet the just into life eonian." (CLNT)
Matthew 25:41 41 "Then shall He be declaring to those also at His left, 'Go from Me, you cursed, into the fire eonian, made ready for the Adversary and his messengers.(CLNT)
Luke 16:24 is a parable. If it's so literal then I guess heaven is Abraham's bosom. and that you go to eternal hell cause your rich. It's dosen't say anything about sin in these verses.
I would rather burn eternally in Hell than to worship an evil, ego-manical, sadistic, psychopathic god like yours. I would never worship a god that told me "either love me or Idie". I don't want to be counted among the mindless sheep that U are, going willingly to a sadistic god. Let me give YOU fair warning...if what you say is true, never is such a sadistic blood-thirsty villainous god so easily satisfied with the blood of the disobedient. When he finishes us off, he will drink your blood too.
SORRY AdventApolo but you MISSED THE VERSES BELOW!!!!!! Just because you dont want to believe in eternal hell does not mean there is not one...Im afraid Jesus would greatly disagree with you about HELL DO YOU DARE DISAGREE WITH GOD AND CALL HIM UNJUST????
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am TORMENTED in this FLAME.
With respect... you are simply repeating the same old doctrine of the apostate church (organized religion) that had fooled many of us over the centuries...
Consider... is Fear a fruit of the Holy Spirit?
I know you won't believe us and that's good... don't believe any human, but seek the Lord Jesus on these topics and let Him show you the truth within your spirit.
The Book of Jude KJV vs7=( Even as sodom and Gomorha, and the cities about them in like manner, Giving themselves over to fornication, And Going after strange flesh, are set Forth an example, suffering the vengeance of ETERNAL FIRE). Question is sodom and Gomorha and the inhabitants of them still burning today?, NO, does that make the fire not eternal? NO BECAUSE THE AFFECTS OF THE FIRE, OR PUNISHMENT IS ETERNAL BECAUSE DEATH IS WHAT? ETERNAL, GOD BLESS YOU.
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.
The Bible simply does not teach the doctrine of eternal torment. The word "hell" in the King James Version is translated from 4 different words - thus the confusion! Nor is it separation from God. It IS life or death, eternal life or eternal death - and eternal death means ceasing from existence.
I watched like 1 min of this if u want to stay out of hell just pray to god and ask him to forgive you. he'll wash away your sins and love you. people think they're going to hell, if you believe in god as your protector then he'll know and take ur hand to the light of heaven's door.
Sheol is the hebrew word word hell, which is translated to the greek word Hades, The hebrew and greek meaning is grave. Go to the site i listed and learn. Maybe God will reveal something to you. God bless you.
By the way i've read the word of God through many times.
A loving-god and eternal torture are irreconcilable. Only with a lot of religious mental contorsionism is this possible. The devil plays in religion the same role as the Jewish problem in Nazi Germany. Give the people a common enemi. There is nothing better to unite them behind you.
Dan. 12:2, Matt. 25:46 say the punishment of the wicked is everlasting and conscious. There are many places in Jns Gospel where Jesus says this as well. If you want to debate me about the meaning of Hebrew and Greek words, then we will continue the conversation only in Hebrew or Greek.
How can your soul be destroyed if Jesus said they will be weeping and nashing their teeth(Matthew 13:42)? In Hebrews 9:27 It appointed a man once to die then the judgement .according this doctrine when the wicked die they are not judged and . Daniel 12:2 its a lie becauise it says the wicked will be resurrected unto eternal contempt, and shame.
Yes, yes yes!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with this video. That's RIGHT. Sinners will NOT live for ever. Thanks, God.You are a mercyful God and You won't torture the sinners endlessly!
@paieusuntasta All depend on the nature of their sin. What if it was your mother who believed in Christ but somehow died in a unknowillingly sin? She lived a glory life and somehow near her end she might have unintentionally committed a small sin and never repented? Would you be happy shes burning in hell?:(
there are many descriptions of burning, death and destruction in the bible. MANY VERSES. Concerning eternal punishment for all those who dont believe is plain. homosexuals say its ok because we should love one another and we know THAT is wrong. You guys are doing the same thing. Read the bible and consider the context . seekhim1 you are completely wrong. The worm dieth not.. is your conscience. among other things you said. Believe the word by faith. Everlasting means everlasting.
the worm dieth not... but the soul that sinneth shall. the worm and fire in gehenna were constantly fed by the refuse cast in to it. Gehenna was an object lesson of the potential that exist of God casting us away after death for destruction. That is why we should not be afraid of who can destroy the body but also the soul in hell. The common view of eternal punishment is unjust 60 years of sinning and age upon age of punishment? Wouldn't you consider that unjust? unfair? overkill?
Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
The destruction of the wicked in the lake of fire is permanent. It is a punishment that cannot be reversed. The act of punishing will come to an end, but the consequences will last for eternity.
Psa 92:7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
ETERNEL HELL TORMENT is a Boldfaced lie! Eccl9:5 For the living know that they shall die:but the dead know not anything, neither have they any more a reward;for the memory of them is forgotten. Mat10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul:but rather fear himGod)which is able to destroy both SOUL and BODY in hell. Psa37:20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs:they shall consume;into smoke shall they consume away
It will be everlasting consumption. The body will eternally be on fire and consumed, but will be regenerated again and again, only to be consumed again and again.
And ye shall tread down the wicked;for they shall be ASHES under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.
2 Pet 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ASHES condemned them with an overthrow,making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
Are these unsaved people glorified after the resurrection? Aren't only those saved glorified? Those resurrected to eternal fire/consumption could not survive such punishment, they would die - second death. In order for this punishment to endure those subjected to this would need to receive fire retardant flesh otherwise they would simply die.
One of the attributes that God prides Himself on is being able to create something out of nothing. Only God has that privilege and right. We can't create anything and neither can the angels. What God creates, He does not un-create. He does not change His mind, and He does not change His standard. We human beings are all given immortal souls that will live forever, either in heaven or in hell. That's why we're unique; we're like God in that sense. The death the Bible refers to is spiritual.
1st Tim. 6:16 says Christ alone has immortality and Romans 2:7 says we seek immortality - we don't already have it. That is why eternal life is a gift from God (Romans 6:23). 1st Corinthians 15:53-54 says this mortal shall put on immortality. We are mortal - "for dust you are and to dust you shall return" (Genesis 3:19). Genesis 3:22 says that Adam and Eve could have lived forever if they were not cut off from the tree of life - their true source of immortality.
God is not like anything He has created. He can't be placed in the same category or on the same level as us. He Himself is not a part of His creation, nor is His creation part of him, so immortality doesn't apply to God the way it does with us. In fact, God is eternal. No one else is eternal but God. Eternal means that He always was and had no beginning. Even angels and demons aren't eternal because God created them.
The immortality Paul talks about is for the believer, not the unbeliever.
Paul isn't saying that the unbeliever will simply go *poof* and be abolished.
Yes, Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden, but the Tree of Life was the source of physical immortality on the planet, not spiritual. Their true source of immortality in all senses came from God, but when they disobeyed Him, they forfeited communion and fellowship with Him. God Himself *is* Eternal Life. When Christ becomes our Savior, Lord & Master we have Eternal Life *right now*. Our names are in the Book of Life.
So the "life" that the Bible refers to is not merely physical, because that ends, but spiritual. Revelation 14:9-11 speaks about what will happen to those who will worship the Beast and his image. When the Bible talks about death, it's twofold; physical death (separation from our earthly bodies) and spiritual death (separation from God). This separation from God does not mean that we cease to exist. Do not be deceived by Carlton Pearson or anyone else; there is a Hell and its flames are real.
By the way, this video nor I are saying that the wicked go *poof* - we also agree there will be a punishing fire with weeping and gnashing of teeth but our God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29). Look up "consume" and "consumed" in a concordance and check out all the verses. If God destroyed the wicked once with a flood, why is it so hard to believe he'll do it again but with fire?
Those who were destroyed by the flood will burn in the fire. I understand what you mean by consume. Okay, so you believe in the existence of Hell. I wish with all my might that Hell would be temporary; that the annihilation theory would be correct. However, it is very dangerous to teach this because it's one more reason to give Mankind not to repent. People will say, "Okay, well if Hell is temporary, and Hell is painful, then pain is temporary. And God's judgement isn't permanent. PARTY ON!"
Lots of sinners believe that hell is for eternity and still sin. Wickedness abounds; an eternal hell is not scaring people to repent. It is the false teaching of eternal torture that is dangerous: most do not think they are bad enough to deserve such a punishment so they do not see the need to repent. The wages of sin is death - the price that Jesus paid on the cross (not being tortured in hell for eternity). No one wants to be burned up by fire - that's why people jumped out of the WTC on 9/11.
Death is a permanent judgment to be feared. Why do people get so distraught over death in this age? Imagine being taken out of existence indefinitely - that's scary. Ps. 37:9-11 says "...evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more."
As far as my belief in the existence of a place called "hell" - The only time "hell" means anything related to a fire is in the New Testament and in the Greek, the word is "Gehenna". Jesus and James were the only ones to speak of Gehenna which was the burning garbage dump outside Jersualem. It sounds to me like "hell" is when God purges the whole earth with fire (read Isaiah 10:17-19; 11:4; 51:6; Job 20:26-29; Psalm 68:2; Ezekiel 22:21; Malachi 4:1-3; Matt. 13:40-42; 2 Peter 3:10-13, etc.)
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power.
YouTube will not let me post any HTML or URLs. Go to Google and type Where The Worm Dieth Not by Oliver Greene into the search field. There is a lot to read about it. I agree with what he says about Hell.
The worm dieth not: Jesus was quoting Isaiah 66:24 - read it. It is about corpses - dead bodies - worms are a sign of death and decay, not torture. Also read Job 21:26, Job 24:20. Jesus would never say anything that contradicts the Old Testament. I challenge anyone to find any talk of a fire that tortures people forever in a place called hell in the Old Testament. Again, hell only means the grave in the Old Testmaent...that's it.
Also, Mr. Greene is quite proud and arrogant in his article. He leaves no room that he could be wrong and accuses others who do not believe like Him to not be Christian. I do not claim to know what all God will do at the end of the age - all I have done is quote Bible verses along with Hebrew and Greek root words. What did you think about my point that teaching eternal torture is more dangerous because no one believes he/she is bad enough to go there and therefore sees no need to repent?
You are redefining destruction. If you destroy something, is it completely gone or does it still exist? Did you read all the verses I listed above? Oliver Greene uses verses that don't mean what he says they do - hell in the Old Testament simply means the "grave" - not a place of fire. Look up Hebrew/Greek roots - English translations miss a lot.
its gehenna, and at the time it was a well known constantly flaming dump that burned night and day. The word hell/hades/sheol refers to the grave, place/pit for the dead. Hades/hell/sheol will be cast into Agam HaEish/lake of fire on Judgement day. Happy now?
If you want to talk to me about Hebrew and Greek words, we will continue only in Hebrew. No, I'm not really happy when I see people with no theological education speading heresy.
Youre the one who decided that you were going to base your entire comment toward me based on the fact that I used the generic, English word "hell" since that is what people understand. I have no desire to discuss anything with you. You're the one who decided to talk to me, remember? I didn't know you existed until then, and I will forget you within hours Im sure.
Actually I was just telling the truth, and I wasn't harsh-which you both were with me. I am not an elitist, I am someone who has studied seriously and challenges others to do so-you both are unqualified in what you assert. I was actually quite polite to you, it is a shame you resorted to name calling and that you both showed such anger. Perhaps your issue is with the Scriptures themselves. I encourage you, study, and prove me wrong from the text, and maybe leave name calling out of it.
"No, I'm not really happy when I see people with no theological education speading heresy" is what you said. I must have missed the complimentary tone that you obviously felt you were extending. I suppose I should appologize for not understanding you, huh? I mean, CLEARLY, you weren't implying I was ignorant or a heretic, you were merely "encouraging me"
I said I encouraged and complimented Waiting-which was a differnt conversation. Re. heresy, I was talking about the video-and I said I was sad at this. All this is besides the text and the point of the video, and you seem more angry at me, then about blatent lies being told about it, when infact I defended the text. Sadly, people kick and argue, with out asking the validity of the claims. I am done with the conversation.
You really don't see where you went out of your way to attempt to belittle by correcting the word "hell" with "hades" do you? Then when I went on to further correct my own generic use of the word hell, you proceeded to raise your chin by insisting that if I have researched ANY Hebrew, Greek, Latin, Aramaic origins, lets have the entire conversation in Hebrew. I'm honestly amazed that you see yourself as someone innocently being picked on by people you've done nothing but be nice to. Be well.
Just to clarify...all have sinned! Everyone is a sinner...EVERYONE! All who do not come to repentence (turn from their sin, ask for forgiveness) will live in Eternal torment. The Bible is VERY clear it is a literal forever when it comes to Hell as is Heaven!
Do not be fooled. Look it up. Just because you don't want to think it is true will stop it from coming! Are you ready?
I imagine alot of you all that agree with eternal punishment have loved one whom believe in Christ but may have committed a sin prior to death. :(

Why people believe that not believing in 'eternal torment' undermines the gospel or the need for repentance is beyond me.. The motivation for turning to the truth should not be the threat of torture, but the love of God through Christ..

Also Revelation is NOT the FINAL plan of God.

If you debate God's desire for humanity, read 1st John.

In 1 Cor. 15, Paul said that which is corruptible will put on incorruption, and that which is mortal will put on immortality. If God has given our souls a time limit, then "eternity" is up for interpretation, isn't it?

ArmageddonComingSoon 1 year ago
@ArmageddonComingSoon

TotalDeadEnd 1 year ago
The belief of the day was that Lazarus, the poor man, must have been a sinner because he lived in squalor, while the unnamed rich man who lived in luxury and plenty was greatly favored by God. Read the book of Job. Notice how all Job's friends kept insisting that Job had unconfessed sin in his life because God wouldn't punish a just & righteous person. Jesus' turned that theory over on their heads. Earthly riches (or lack thereof) are not an indication of one's godliness or righteousness.

FRIENDOFMANKIND 2 years ago

NewWorldMan1000 2 years ago
Second death is the transition from physical reality to Hell, the authors used death as a negative to oppose "eternal life" which is a positive, eternal death, below, darkness anything opposite of positive. The rest of what you say all comes down to opinion.

to pass, not even as this world is plunged into the most cataclysmic times it has ever seen. The possibility of such events occurring may seem incredulous to you, perhaps so much so, that you dont want to read any farther. But just in case... if there is the slightest possibility...

since you are on the earth or hell. your only sense of heaven is in the torah. Mamoindes belived that heaven was a library where you study. to each is own.
why would you get punished in death it makes no sense. its the physical form that causes sin. your soul is pure so why should it be held accountable for the acts of the walking corpse
Russellt0228 2 years ago
its an easy debate.

The Bible simply does not teach the doctrine of eternal torment. The word "hell" in the King James Version is translated from 4 different words - thus the confusion! Nor is it separation from God. It IS life or death, eternal life or eternal death - and eternal death means ceasing from existence.

Philos2006 2 years ago
A loving-god and eternal torture are irreconcilable. Only with a lot of religious mental contorsionism is this possible. The devil plays in religion the same role as the Jewish problem in Nazi Germany. Give the people a common enemi. There is nothing better to unite them behind you.
Philos2006 2 years ago
Actually your statement, and also the video is nearly totally incorrect.
God's love is the reason for His wrath and anger against evil.
If you love that which is good you must hate that which is evil. It's a logical contradiction if you do not.
God loves good, therefore He hates evil. He will punish evildoers.
God doesn't love those who will go to hell, He hates them.

How can your soul be destroyed if Jesus said they will be weeping and nashing their teeth(Matthew 13:42)? In Hebrews 9:27 It appointed a man once to die then the judgement .according this doctrine when the wicked die they are not judged and . Daniel 12:2 its a lie becauise it says the wicked will be resurrected unto eternal contempt, and shame.

the worm dieth not... but the soul that sinneth shall. the worm and fire in gehenna were constantly fed by the refuse cast in to it.

Note it is punishMENT not punishING

TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago

Malachi 4:3

2Peter 3:13
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,wherein the heavens being on fire shall be DISSOLVED,and the elements shall melt..
brigig 3 years ago 2
Are these unsaved people glorified after the resurrection? Aren't only those saved glorified? Those resurrected to eternal fire/consumption could not survive such punishment, they would die - second death. In order for this punishment to endure those subjected to this would need to receive fire retardant flesh otherwise they would simply die.
louissoto 3 years ago 2
"Loving gods" dont torture ,INDEED. Proving the opposite is BULLSHIT.
But then, hell is still the most lucrative invention of religion.
Philos2006 3 years ago
One of the attributes that God prides Himself on is being able to create something out of nothing. Only God has that privilege and right. We can't create anything and neither can the angels. What God creates, He does not un-create. He does not change His mind, and He does not change His standard. We human beings are all given immortal souls that will live forever, either in heaven or in hell. That's why we're unique; we're like God in that sense. The death the Bible refers to is spiritual.
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
Genesis 3:22 says that Adam and Eve could have lived forever if they were not cut off from the tree of life - their true source of immortality.
seekHim1 3 years ago 2
God is not like anything He has created. He can't be placed in the same category or on the same level as us. He Himself is not a part of His creation, nor is His creation part of him, so immortality doesn't apply to God the way it does with us. In fact, God is eternal. No one else is eternal but God. Eternal means that He always was and had no beginning. Even angels and demons aren't eternal because God created them.
The immortality Paul talks about is for the believer, not the unbeliever.
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
Paul isn't saying that the unbeliever will simply go *poof* and be abolished.
Yes, Adam and Eve were cast out of Eden, but the Tree of Life was the source of physical immortality on the planet, not spiritual. Their true source of immortality in all senses came from God, but when they disobeyed Him, they forfeited communion and fellowship with Him. God Himself *is* Eternal Life. When Christ becomes our Savior, Lord & Master we have Eternal Life *right now*. Our names are in the Book of Life.
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
So the "life" that the Bible refers to is not merely physical, because that ends, but spiritual. Revelation 14:9-11 speaks about what will happen to those who will worship the Beast and his image. When the Bible talks about death, it's twofold; physical death (separation from our earthly bodies) and spiritual death (separation from God). This separation from God does not mean that we cease to exist. Do not be deceived by Carlton Pearson or anyone else; there is a Hell and its flames are real.
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
By the way, this video nor I are saying that the wicked go *poof* - we also agree there will be a punishing fire with weeping and gnashing of teeth but our God is a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29). Look up "consume" and "consumed" in a concordance and check out all the verses. If God destroyed the wicked once with a flood, why is it so hard to believe he'll do it again but with fire?
seekHim1 3 years ago
Those who were destroyed by the flood will burn in the fire. I understand what you mean by consume. Okay, so you believe in the existence of Hell. I wish with all my might that Hell would be temporary; that the annihilation theory would be correct. However, it is very dangerous to teach this because it's one more reason to give Mankind not to repent. People will say, "Okay, well if Hell is temporary, and Hell is painful, then pain is temporary. And God's judgement isn't permanent. PARTY ON!"
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
Lots of sinners believe that hell is for eternity and still sin. Wickedness abounds; an eternal hell is not scaring people to repent. It is the false teaching of eternal torture that is dangerous: most do not think they are bad enough to deserve such a punishment so they do not see the need to repent. The wages of sin is death - the price that Jesus paid on the cross (not being tortured in hell for eternity). No one wants to be burned up by fire - that's why people jumped out of the WTC on 9/11.
seekHim1 3 years ago 2
Death is a permanent judgment to be feared. Why do people get so distraught over death in this age? Imagine being taken out of existence indefinitely - that's scary. Ps. 37:9-11 says "...evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more."
seekHim1 3 years ago

YouTube will not let me post any HTML or URLs. Go to Google and type Where The Worm Dieth Not by Oliver Greene into the search field. There is a lot to read about it. I agree with what he says about Hell.
TotalDeadEnd 3 years ago
The worm dieth not: Jesus was quoting Isaiah 66:24 - read it. It is about corpses - dead bodies - worms are a sign of death and decay, not torture. Also read Job 21:26, Job 24:20. Jesus would never say anything that contradicts the Old Testament. I challenge anyone to find any talk of a fire that tortures people forever in a place called hell in the Old Testament. Again, hell only means the grave in the Old Testmaent...that's it.
seekHim1 3 years ago
Also, Mr. Greene is quite proud and arrogant in his article. He leaves no room that he could be wrong and accuses others who do not believe like Him to not be Christian. I do not claim to know what all God will do at the end of the age - all I have done is quote Bible verses along with Hebrew and Greek root words. What did you think about my point that teaching eternal torture is more dangerous because no one believes he/she is bad enough to go there and therefore sees no need to repent?
seekHim1 3 years ago

Happy now?

"No, I'm not really happy when I see people with no theological education speading heresy" is what you said. I must have missed the complimentary tone that you obviously felt you were extending. LovinJesusALatte 2 years ago

Do not be fooled. Look it up. Just because you don't want to think it is true will stop it from coming! Are you ready?
