I just don't like that Castillian accent!!! is horrible. Eventhough some people want to be assholes and look down on it, Mexican Spanish is the most tolerable accent of all the spanish speaking countries, Amen.
She looks much thinner here than in her movies.Odd to think that had she aged, she would never have gained this immortality.Had she died at 70,people would have said"Oh yeah, I remember her.Too bad" .Strange how things work out
@tet43 I AGREE WITH YOU. IS LIKE U GOT TO BE SUCCESSFULL AND DIE YOUNG SO PEOPLE WILL REMEMBER U AND SAY HOW AWESOME YOU WERE OR NOT EVEN SUCCESSFULL, BUT JUST BEAUTIFUL AT THE PICK OF YOUR BEST YEARS OR IF U GET OLD,PEOPLE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS, BUT HOW U LOOK. SAD.
I know a girl who looks like Marilyn Manroe without the surgery, same cheeckbone, beauty spot, arched eyebrows, nose, smile. the thing is she's Iraqi with a tan skin & dark hair...even with her Muslim headscarf on people would in all honesty walk up to her & tell she looks like manroe! Isn't it amazing how someone can look so much like another person but be of a different race? like there's an Asian/White/Black version of you out there!

Well, this CAN'T be Feb. 16, 1955. First, just before she gets in you can see the front end of a 1959 Chevrolet parked behind her car. Second, this is clearly taken in New York City and in February on a warm day the temperature might reach 50. Usually in the 20s or 30s so she'd be wearing a coat at least. Probably summer and in '59 or later.
She would never appear in public without makeup. Read her biography. Her face was always carefully made up, she spent hours on it and absolutely would never be photographed without it.
@cool2kitty I've read about tonnes of stories in which Marilyn appearing in public without makeup, and introduced herself as Marilyn without makeup. There are also a number of photos of her without it. I think you are referring specifically to public appearances.
@cool2kitty In fact, she rarely wore makeup when she wasn't in public as "Marilyn" There are dozens and dozens of stories of people meeting her without makeup. Her very good friend Norman Rosten for one. He thought she was some teenage babysitter. Most people said she was pretty but unremarkable except for her beautiful skin. But, without applying makeup she could turn herself into "Marilyn" if she wanted to.
I have to correct your date regarding this clip, The footage is shot much later. In the spring of 1962 , Marilyn is filmed heading off to Madison square garden for a rehearsal for JFK's birthday bash.:)
learn a bit of history first, she was an orphan who never knew her father and her mom was a skitzo, she was raped at 9 yo, and attempted suicide at 16 yo...
more like britney or gaga dont have nothing on her, on the contrary gaga tries to immitate monroe, she was the first who started the porcelain skin, golden hair trend, its originally hers
@willwork4superpowazz I have to correct you re the Marilyn look . She might be credited for originating the platinum look but Marilyn picked up the batten from Jean Harlow her childhood idol.
@richardhanna0 its a similar look it only follow similar guidelines of her idol but they werent EXACTLY the same i know she wanted to be like Jean but she made the look her own basically
This is not 1955, it's more like 1961. It's outside her apartment at 444 e. 57th street, NYC, where I've been. Sidenote: Marilyn was the most fabulous, gorgeous, supernaturally stunning, sweet, radiant creature who ever lived, and if you don;'t think so, you're full of shit! End of discussion.
the people commenting this video need to thin logically. Whatever surgery she wouldve had was at the beginning of her film career in the early 1950s. now i'll believe a nose job, but do u really think cheek implants and chin implants were anything but experimental in those days? if u see early pictures of original brest implants they were shaped like cones. nothing was refined enough to look subtle
@LuvMadonna626 I agree, i have read a biography on marylin monroe for a school project, and no plastic surgery occured! She's just gorgeous. it is what it is :)
@lottielovelife No, NOT TRUE. The famous high brow and widow's peak is evident in her wedding pictures to Jim Dauhtery at age 16. And also in all her Norma Jean modeling pics. She had very minor work on her nose and her chin in 1950. The chin implant disolved in 1957 and she did not feel any need to replace it.
@waif55 she did trust me and I have 14 books on her including the Bernard of Hollywood book which includes all the pictures you you've previsously mentioned - yes she did have work done that I have already mentioned, and no there was no massive difference as with most surgery at this time its was either extreme of v. subtle in her early pictures her eyebrows are much rounder in shape etc.
@waif55 Well, here in my hands I am holding two pics of her from age 16-17, before became a model. There is it--the beautiful high brow and the distinct widow's peak. Unless you are implying this teenage girl on the edge of poverty was having plastic surgery? This is just another way to take from her and diminish her, as people did all her life. As for Bernard of Hollywood, he claimed dozens of pics he never took of her!
@waif55 yes but there are still pictures of her none the less, and no one is saying that she didn't have those characteristics but she did use surgery to accentuate them. she in fact referred to her nose as a pigs nose throughout her whole life, her brows were softer and gentle and, her nose more rounded and a smaller forehead which wasn't in fashion at the time. no am not implying an orphan could afford plastic surgery. I have linked you to some pictures which should exemplify this
@lottielovelife Look, I have seen hundreds of "Norma Jeanes" In some pics, you can see she had a little work on her nose, in most, however she just looks like a very young Marilyn Monroe with dark hair (auburn, in fact) I don't understand how people can look at all her teenage pics, all her years as a model, and still carry on like she was some unrecognizable beast. I mean---SHE WAS A MODEL. She had to have been damn good-looking to begin with.
@waif55 will you stop causing trouble I don't believe you are the oracle of all Monroe knowledge
and in all her early pictures you can see the nose work - she had a softer flatter nose with a slight bump at the bridge
auburn is a shade of ginger - she was mousey
and I did believe I said she was beautiful either way myself you can't read can't you? you clearly can't use apostrophes or listen to anybody so good bye. stop bothering people
@lottielovelife Ummmm...I don't think I am "causing trouble." We are agreeing to disagree, yes? And, you don't HAVE to reply, yes? I'm no oracle. I just know what I know, Just as you do! Peace and love, as MM would have said.
@waif55 oh dear you are tiresome aren't you. stop commenting on people who frankly don't give one they commented days before and cba let people get on with their lives, and find your own, and tbh you comments have a violent tone to them!
you aren't monroe knowing her life story won't make you one. commenting angrly and telling people there wrong denotes a lack of class which am sorry, means you can never be as beautiful, or really learn anything.
@lottielovelife Actually, Marilyn Monroe didn't have surgery on her nose. She used makeup to make it look different. By applying blush to the sides and directly under her nose, she made it look thinner and shorter, and she put a face product on it to make it shine.
@Aprilsickles noooo stop the press, an so did everyone else at that time but she also did have surgery, its well documented.
and that product was actually layers of vasaline/ petroleum jelly as she washed her face 15 times a day she was so scared of getting a blemish. so there you go.
@LuvMadonna626 THAT IS SOO TRUE ABOUT THE CONE SHAPED BREAST SURGERY, BUT I STILL LIKE THAT SHAPE, THOUGH BEAUSE IT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE U GOT CURVES IN MY OPINION.
@LuvMadonna626 No, they were not experimental. Implants have been in use since the 1920's. I work with a plastic surgeon and we have had countless discussions on Marlyn, and many other stars surgeries. FYI, it doesnt matter what surgeries she got, she looks awesome.
WITHOUT MAKEUP? LOL! let's see: black lines on her eyes, bright red lipstick, painted face, painted eyebrows then a vid with sunglasses & bright lipstick & painted face: how is that no make up?
People, calm down! Being a Monroe loony myself... and doing some seriously deep research on her when I was infatuated... Marilyn DID have surgery on various parts of her face.
Regardless of that, she was a pretty lady before the surgery... and just plain gorgeous after!
With that, hop off her nuts and let the woman rest in PEACE.
For heaven's sake, she was posing in the semi-nude from her earliest modeling years. Her breasts were natural. They were not, however, huge. Later, they looked bigger because she gained weight (she was pregnant in "Some Like It Hot" her "bustiest" movie.) And despite legend, she usually wore a bra under her costumes. An uplift. When she doesn't--like in "The Misfits"--you can see those are real, normal-sized, movin' around breasts.
"And despite legend, she usually wore a bra under her costumes. An uplift."
True. They weren't ordinary brassieres (they didn't cover the nipple area) - their point was to look as if there was NO bra at all - but custom made. to pad a little here and there, and give them a "naturally" buxom appearance.
I think the "legend" that you're talking about refers to a different area of underwear. ;)
But I think she wore panties more often than not. THere is the infamoous shot from Mexico. But...when you watch the footage of her walking in the room, when she turns her back not only do you see the bra strap, but a panty line! I've always thought that awful Mexico shot was altered.
The film footage is not from 1955. It was, in fact, taken the morning after she sang for President Kennedy in 1962. By that time, Marilyn was wearing very soft, natural makeup. She had learned she didn't need the heavier stuff she wore in the fifties. She was divine with or without. There has never been anyone like her and people who compare her to Pam Anderson or Anna Nicole rally don't get the point.
she would have been awesome but too bad about the fur. all the celebs can't seem to get out of the 'me, me, me' world that makes them feel they are entitled to wear someone elses skin. fur that happens to be in use at the time it's anally electrocuted... sad...cause they could have been speaking up...i heard fur is now making a comeback...cap locks broken.
The animal's fur was "anally electrocuted"? Ehh, sounds painful, yet enjoyable by the lesser public. And it seems that you're implying that Marilyn Monroe would have "been awesome" if she just hadn't been wearing fur. So many animals were brought to fame because of her, and you're just too blind to see that.
THat was Rita Hayworth. MM had the fuzz along her hairline cleaned up (Liz Taylor did too) MM always had that beautiful widow's peak. Check out her early Norma Jeane pics.
@UpdownCourt09 oh for fuck's sakes get a grip. the only innocent around here is you for being such an idiot and believing she was the part she played . you ppl are so gullible. she was a fucking cunt who played men for money. they should display her autopsy pix & make a vid out of removing her chin & cheek implants. LOL!
how dare you disrespect her , you dont know her , im sick of sayin this to dum fucks lik you that she had tragic life right from the day she was born , she doesnt need fagots lik you sayin horrible stuff abou her , your probubly an ugly prat who makes fun of people cause ur jealous cant you just leave the poor woman alone.
anyways what horrible person will make fun of the dead no matter who it is , would you make fun of your friends or family when they die? then why do it to her
From some angles, Norma Jeane's "old" nose looks exactly the same as Marilyn's "new" one. Very minor work on the tip. The chin implant made an infintesimal difference and eventally disolved! Aside from that, remember, when you look at pictures of Norma Jeane you are looking at a girl in her teens and twenties, not yet fully formed--the face alters with time. The really big alteration and effect on her looks? Bleach.
a persons hair can change the face entirely, especially the colour and cut. I don't believe all the rumours of surgery, but her nose job was very subtle. People just like to act like her beauty was all false, because they cant believe someone could be so beautiful! I love pictures of Marilyn with no make up on just as much as those with. She was stunningly beautiful, inside and out. Thats why shes so likeable, cause she had a depth in her eyes and you could feel it when you saw her.
She was very pretty as Norma, a stunner as Marilyn. Her surgeries were minor and subtle. Look at ANYONE age 19 or 20, and then at 26, or 36. You are going to find major changes to the face--natural changes. Going blonde made the truly big difference. And yes, the cut is just as important.
Absolutely if she was around today they could say how plastic she was but back in those days they simply didnot have the thech they do now. I agree I cant tell the difference between the subtle surgery she DID have its just she was soo beautiful she looked more like a porcelen than a real person.
Actually, even a guy can tell she got on lipstick and her face is painted too. No eye makeup? Big deal, she's wearing glasses. She wasn't that pretty to begin with. Lots other actresses of her time were a lot more beautiful. Overrated!

@lottielovelife Ummmm...I don't think I am "causing trouble." We are agreeing to disagree, yes? And, you don't HAVE to reply, yes? I'm no oracle. I just know what I know, Just as you do! Peace and love, as MM would have said.

@waif55 oh dear you are tiresome aren't you. stop commenting on people who frankly don't give one they commented days before and cba let people get on with their lives, and find your own, and tbh you comments have a violent tone to them!
you aren't monroe knowing her life story won't make you one. commenting angrly and telling people there wrong denotes a lack of class which am sorry, means you can never be as beautiful, or really learn anything.
and btw from what i can tell nosing at your p

@lottielovelife Actually, Marilyn Monroe didn't have surgery on her nose. She used makeup to make it look different. By applying blush to the sides and directly under her nose, she made it look thinner and shorter, and she put a face product on it to make it shine.
Aprilsickles 7 months ago
@Aprilsickles noooo stop the press, an so did everyone else at that time but she also did have surgery, its well documented.
and that product was actually layers of vasaline/ petroleum jelly as she washed her face 15 times a day she was so scared of getting a blemish. so there you go.

@LuvMadonna626 THAT IS SOO TRUE ABOUT THE CONE SHAPED BREAST SURGERY, BUT I STILL LIKE THAT SHAPE, THOUGH BEAUSE IT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE U GOT CURVES IN MY OPINION.
alttab7890 9 months ago

With that, hop off her nuts and let the woman rest in PEACE.

newfoundlandjb35 2 years ago
@newfoundlandjb35
An uplift. When she doesn't--like in "The Misfits"--you can see those are real, normal-sized, movin' around breasts.
waif55 2 years ago 2
"And despite legend, she usually wore a bra under her costumes. An uplift."
True. They weren't ordinary brassieres (they didn't cover the nipple area) - their point was to look as if there was NO bra at all - but custom made. to pad a little here and there, and give them a "naturally" buxom appearance.
I think the "legend" that you're talking about refers to a different area of underwear. ;)
Hadewijch 2 years ago
But I think she wore panties more often than not. THere is the infamoous shot from Mexico. But...when you watch the footage of her walking in the room, when she turns her back not only do you see the bra strap, but a panty line! I've always thought that awful Mexico shot was altered.
waif55 2 years ago
she had her chin done. I watched something on Plastic surgery in the 50-60's. Frank Sinatra had his ear fix from what i remember.

Hunterunc 2 years ago 7
she would have been awesome but too bad about the fur. all the celebs can't seem to get out of the 'me, me, me' world that makes them feel they are entitled to wear someone elses skin. fur that happens to be in use at the time it's anally electrocuted... sad...cause they could have been speaking up...i heard fur is now making a comeback...cap locks broken.

ELGRULLLO 3 years ago 8
From some angles, Norma Jeane's "old" nose looks exactly the same as Marilyn's "new" one. Very minor work on the tip. The chin implant made an infintesimal difference and eventally disolved! Aside from that, remember, when you look at pictures of Norma Jeane you are looking at a girl in her teens and twenties, not yet fully formed--the face alters with time. The really big alteration and effect on her looks? Bleach.
waif55 3 years ago 8
a persons hair can change the face entirely, especially the colour and cut. I don't believe all the rumours of surgery, but her nose job was very subtle. People just like to act like her beauty was all false, because they cant believe someone could be so beautiful! I love pictures of Marilyn with no make up on just as much as those with. She was stunningly beautiful, inside and out. Thats why shes so likeable, cause she had a depth in her eyes and you could feel it when you saw her.
onehotminutex 3 years ago 2
She was very pretty as Norma, a stunner as Marilyn. Her surgeries were minor and subtle. Look at ANYONE age 19 or 20, and then at 26, or 36. You are going to find major changes to the face--natural changes. Going blonde made the truly big difference. And yes, the cut is just as important.
waif55 3 years ago 8
Absolutely if she was around today they could say how plastic she was but back in those days they simply didnot have the thech they do now. I agree I cant tell the difference between the subtle surgery she DID have its just she was soo beautiful she looked more like a porcelen than a real person.

Actually, even a guy can tell she got on lipstick and her face is painted too. No eye makeup? Big deal, she's wearing glasses. She wasn't that pretty to begin with. Lots other actresses of her time were a lot more beautiful. Overrated!
