  • How much did you buy the house for?

  • Very interesting! I'll look forward going through the series. I've lived in Japanese apartments so it's good to get someone who knows something about them to go through them from the insides. Thanks for posting!

  • You and your wife should try being Fudosan. I've been here 13 years and you could be a realtor , especially for foreigners. Lots of foreigners would like to buy. Not easy at all without a Japanese wife. Entertaining stuff. I'd hire you for renovation work for sure !

  • Thats a nice drive way and a house especially in Japan wow, you can fit two cars there no problem. Big investment for you Great job. My wife is Japanese as well but I am not brave enough to move to Japan.

  • nice big house! That was kinda creepy when the door shut by itself ;).

  • do japanese houses have western toilets or japanese ones

  • Homes in Japan are tiny, that country is overcrowded

  • Cool Video. took a double take in this video seeing you wearing a Lou's shirt...

  • Lou's rocks!! I will miss them.

  • very interesting. I admire your handyman skills.

  • Thanks... Being an ex contractor is really paying off right now.

  • Great series, man. Both entertaining & educating. (And you're doing it all for non-profit!)

  • Info should be free. If I can show things I will. Its also a creative outlet for me. Cheers!

  • congrats! keeping your fridge, right?

let's see some container gardening this spring :)

  • I love that fridge... oh yea its here now.

  • Excellent. How much did you pay for it? did you get a mortgage?

  • Total cost including renovations and purchase price: About 200,000.00 USD

  • hehe. When u were talking about you and your wife and how you were a team, i glanced at your shirt... INDEPENDENT :)

  • Actually its a shirt from my old supplier in Boston. Independent Electric Supply. They were the best ever!

  • Interesting. Not quite as glib as Norm Abram, but infinitely more real...

  • Wow I thought you were going to get a unit, but that's an impressive house. Very big by Japanese standards. Looks very cool!

I hope your not too busy to have a beer with the missus & I when we head over in January. There's a video featured on our channel talking about our plans & asking when would be the best time if your still interested (9th or 10th of Jan).

Congrats again on the house man, reading the more info there, it sounds like you've made a very good decision in buying, not renting :)

  • Sorry for the late reply but YES!! always up for Beer beer beer!

  • hahaha cool dude, still got your cell number, I'll give you a call closer to when we're headed over...cheers : )
