I Live in San Clemente and just got back from San Francisco and watched this video before the trip so I gave it a try and was surprised on the savings I own a 2006 scion XB and used to get about 250 miles from 1 tank of gas going at the speed of the traffic and drove at 55 MPH all the way to San Francisco and made it there on 1 tank, got to the hotel and the next day drove 27 more miles to the San Francisco Zoo on the same tank of gas I got over 460 miles driving at 55 MPH It Works Big Time!!!!!

Remember, 55 mph speed limit was reviled back in the 1970's/1980's and it is just as reviled today. It is time to drill for more oil instead ! Drill now !

A better idea to save energy and it would be a major chunk - how about a 4 day work week. It would work in places especially in large metro areas where people have to drive a long distance to work. It would save 20% and as a bonus, a 3 day weekend to spend more time with family. Imposing a draconian 55 mph limit would save around 2%.

I'm not saying to stop drilling. Let's just keep what little is left for future generations and switch to renewable sources in every way possible! Driving 55 only makes sense in the short term. Plug in vehicles powered by solar panels right at home seems to be a good plan.

I discovered that even what I was doing, flying a banner over traffic might have been a little dangerous for motorists, so I won't be doing that again. But the real danger is that we won't do enough to anticipate the calamity of global warming and the end of cheap oil.

u know 4 collage students did 55 mph side by side in a 55 zone on a streach of georgia interstate notorious for speeding tickets. they caused a big bottle neck and jammed up traffic and created more dangerous conditions on the road. so much for 55 making it safer
