  • Hi ! Both are good on their instruments, it could only give a great video. I'm just discovering Julian Lage, and I really like his music. I've watched & listened 7 of his videos in less than 3/4h ! And I'm gonna watch others, if I can. Great musicians. BYE !

  • Wonderful example of 2 players listening and bouncing ideas off each other. Some great moments here...

  • @nicklambthepianoman i am! :)

  • word...

  • This is a good example of a common way of playing tunes by jazz musicians : Play the Intro in an Impressionistic style. Then go into a Latin samba rhytmic treatment for the rest of the rendition.

  • The first part is played freely in an impressionistic style. The pianist plays fast arpeggios on alterations of the chords. Then they go into a samba style. The painist left hand is syncopated most of the time.

  • The song they are playing is "I Love You" by Cole Porter. They are playing it in a Latin rhythm.

  • what was the name of this tune?

  • those doubles at 4:30 sound awesome

  • THERE are not " The Greatest"...because that will be unfair to other equally talented.....but these two are certainly among the best....

  • im bored on cam

    funny video lets chat MJ

  • in english, we've got what i call "verbal inflation"..."the best" means "really good", or in some cases, just "good". in germany, if you say "gut" (good), then it was good, as in above average. "wunderschön", "fantastisch", or something else comparable to "amazing" is only reserved for something truly special.

for some reason if we say a performance was "ok" the performer feels offended. just something i've noticed since i've been back in the states, hope this shines light on the issue.

  • yea. i hear what you are talking about.

  • taylor and julian are great together.

saw them at yoshi's s.f. california

and they rocked!!!! They had a four piece

with stand up bass and a awesome drummer!

  • taylor is a pretty good basketball player, julian is ok. believe me.

  • yeah youtube debates kind of suck.

i was lucky enough to attend camp where these two taught. they really are amazing. and neither of them are egotistical in the slightest.

not debating, just saying what i've seen in person

  • this is beautiful.. they are truly 'playing'. really fun to watch the interaction going on here.. two huge talents.

  • hey thanks! nice comment

  • uh, no

  • Taylor Play the piano with the Soul...

    Taylor is Amazing¡¡¡¡

  • Saw this mega-talented duo knock out the audience at the 2007 Healdsburg, California, jazz festivel (the best straight-ahead festival going). Their rapport is total, like one person playing two instruments. And they consistently elevate to the level of "I Love You", performed here.

  • Jazz is the best ,dont ya lave it!
