Its not hard to get a job. I got my first job at 16 (last year). Im a student in sixth form so im very inflexible. The problem with unemployment is that people just arent willing to work! Many opt for soft subjects and end up doing customer service jobs they could have done at 16. University should be for academic elite. The top 3 or 4 per cent only. I don't agree with way the Tories are culling university numbers with extortionate fees because the academically gifted should not have to pay any fees in my opinion.

It's by no means a perfect system but I do believe that it's an improvement.

Its not hard to get a job. I got my first job at 16 (last year). Im a student in sixth form so im very inflexible. The problem with unemployment is that people just arent willing to work! People on the dole should be given just enough to be able to eat. Then perhaps picking potatoes in the midlands for a living will be quite appealing, rather than sponging off this unfair system

Many opt for soft subjects and end up doing customer service jobs they could have done at 16. University should be for academic elite. The top 3 or 4 per cent only. It is just a joy ride of waste for many. I don't agree with way the Tories are culling university numbers with extortionate fees because the academically gifted should not have to pay any fees in my opinion.

So while standards are higher than the media would have us think, I agree that there should be more scholarships for the gifted. Ideally, however, there wouldn't be any fees for education. The Tories, perhaps unintetionally, are reserving education for the rich.

If you actually study the policy you'll see that students only repay the loans at rates they can afford after university, actually lower than the rates under Labour. Oddly enough the people who do worse are those in the middle bracket who do not get as extensive loans as those poorer than them, but also whose parents can't afford the education. It's by no means a perfect system but I do believe that it's an improvement.
