Limp bizkit is a more modern kind of hard rock/metal, they covered this particulair part of master of puppets in their way of making music, so made it fit for their kind of show! Both, metallica and limp bizkit, are very good songs! Metallica has by the way a whole album made of covers, so in fact you can't say covering songs is a bad thing as well...
