  • I can no longer tolerate mushroom hair.

  • To address some of the comments from below - the model had a texturizer in 2003 when she was featured in the book Hair Rules. She went natural shortly after. This video was created 5 years later! Her texture is a 4b.

  • Ummmm...no two black people have the same curl pattern. You don't have to have a texturizer to have slightly looser curls. I am mostly black and my hair is very similar to hers. But I like to wash my hair in sections, Or sometimes wash it when it is already pre-detangled using a water/conditioner mix and in braids.

  • I have hair like hers and I do not have any chemicals. sheesh people

  • Why does she have to ahve a texturizer. My hair is exactly like hers and mine is natural. Does anyone know what this hair type is, would really like to know!

  • I've got natural hair past my shoulders but suffer from major shrinkage. I doubt this would work for me.

  • i want this bathroom! and i feel like this product is what wen wants to do

  • The model is gorgeous. Beautiful skin. They should really tell us what type of hair she has. Whether that be 3a-4c hair/if it has been altered from it's natural state. I'm sure it has on the product 'results may vary'. lol.

  • This stuff works. I used it today for the first time and was surprised at how my frizzies went bye-bye.

  • Yeah......she definetly has a texturizer. I did this and it didn't work out for me. My afro was curly. But the curls werent long or defined like hers. Mine were very short and curly.

  • @shojogrl everyone has a different hair texture so just because others have a looser curl pattern doesn't mean they've used chemicals

  • how do you get hair length and hair like that. so thick....

  • I ain't even looking at the product, I am looking at the bathroom/Shower. Goodness! lol

  • @ThePorsche18 LOL I hear that!!!

  • I just purchased this product today and have yet to use it. had i known it requires this much work I would not have done so.

  • She's cute. That process is wayyyy too much work though, and her hair was cute anyway before she did all that. The only thing I got out of this is changing my mind about my hair length - I usually chop it off and prefer to wear a TWA, but now I'm thinking about just letting it grow out.

  • wen i have kids i will NEVER perm their hair!

  • Black women look way better with natural hair instead of a perm. The perm ends up looking too monkey-ish! lol jk

  • @trinitysnp i so agree with you black woman look better with their real hair image how a white person or an asian would look with our hair werid right lol.

  • She has a texturizer. . .

  • @CosmoHunter24 NO she does not

  • @livelovelearnlaf

YES. She does. He says it in his book.

  • @CosmoHunter24 I dont want to believe itttt ;(

    lollll

    her hair looks great otherwise..lol

  • Forget the product, I wanna live in that house! That bathroom is NICE!

  • whoever she is her hair is beauuutiful!

  • I tried he curly whip and it was very nice, however, I did not get 2nd day hair. Not a huge deal my 4a curls were nicely elongated, defined and soft. I will use this when I need a nice quick style that will dry quickly:) Has anyone tried the kinky curling creme?

  • It said how ur hair is wet is how it'll stay dry...but it looked waay different dry. o.O

  • ...amazin' BUT how much?!?!?!

  • I recently cut my locs and am growing my hair out curly, this looks like a ton of work though, haha.

  • where can i buy hair rules?the whole set?

also how can i get her bathroom?:)

  • @elipse135 lol i was thinking the same thing...........lol

  • i love that shower!.

  • I loved this commercial. And you have a lovely voice!

  • does this work for 4a/b hair mostly 4b...??

  • WOOOOW! I am so happy I went natural I cant wait until my grows longer... I will def order this product... thx

  • i got some of this..it really works..i recommend this to every one!!!!

  • I wanna try this one day

  • her hair is absolutely gorgeous!

  • They make it seem so effortless! I wish...

  • so cute

  • This is a beautiful look to natural hair. Does anyone know where to purchase this product, "Hair Rules" in Maryland?

  • I'm sure u can always order it online.

  • WOW! Her hair is beautiful!!

  • I practice this procedure all the time. I think that this is the first vid that really shows you how to set your hair correctly. love it

  • I love your commercials. Ithink black women look way better in their natural hair than a perm.

  • @seinfeildsucks A-fuckin-MAN TO THAT!!! WE LOOK MORE LIKE QUEENS!!

  • She's lucky, I would give anything to have my hair look like that dry much less wet. My hair is natural and long but has alot of shrinkage. Nothing works :-(

  • I know right! My hair sound just like yours! I don't know how to get my hair to even hang like that.

  • lol...i know right that bathroom is amazing! the product is good too....lol

  • i want this bathroom

  • me 2 its so nice and classy

  • @lexyladybug81 LOL I WAS JUST GONNA WRITE THIS!

  • @lexyladybug81

me too! what a dream that would be! :)

  • i want hair like that.

  • lol y

  • Wow, this makes me miss my natural hair

  • @joydubyadee This video made me do the big chop in November. I look forward to styling my hair like the model's.

  • I use this shampoo and it works well. It doesn't dry your hair out, so you could wash every day. Curly heads really shouldn't wash everyday but u could with this no sudz poo.

  • Pls tell me where can i get this shampoo....

  • man i wish my shower looked like that.

  • wow you're so pretty...

  • she pretty

  • Comment removed

  • Her hair is curly, all the "special" products are doing is moisturizing her hair.

  • I love that she cleans her hair daily. I think it's a myth that we have to run from water like the wicked witch. I wouldn't have to worry does it work well without heat? I have a twa now and I don't want to bother with the dryer.

  • I've used this like 3 times and it is just not working for me. When it's stll wet it just lookes kinda wavy. When I dry it the roots puff back up but the ends stay kinda wavy. I really don't know my hair type, the back is wavy, the front has a little curl and the rest is just there lol I'm gonna keep trying it to see if it does something else but this is just not working for the $100 i spent

  • well did u do exactly what the girl did in the video?

  • I didn't sit under a dryer. I don't know if that was the problem or not but I hate them. I've sat under a dryer before and my roots would still get puffy. I'm just gonna give it up, plus I noticed its kinda pulling my hair out and my hair feels dry

  • lol maybe u like the dryer! ME! I have the hands dryer and the fix one! man! I cant stand it

  • @mzshonie,

is ur hair kinky curly? u know hair rules has more products for other hair types.

    is ur hair curly?

  • it's probably really water based, your hair sounds like mine, if i put water in my hair then dry it it's a fro, but giovanni gel, shampoo and conditioner. makes my hair really curly and wavy, it's the only thing that works for me.

  • Omg, jealousy much....

  • Does anyone know what this girls hair type is? She is my hair twin the first time I ever seen someone with the exact hair type as mine.

  • me too i dont know mine either cuz all the examples dont match shes the first person whos hair texture fits mine

  • I'm pretty sure she's a 4a

  • omg, mine too. i think my hair is 4b on top and 4a, much looser curl, in the back

  • LOL you have to keep in mind the texture she has. I have curly hair and I LOVE HAIR RULES! You have to master the product and ur curls. I constantly get complements. It doesn't leave ur hair hard or dry...its soft and smells great....don't knock it til you try it....most of the good haircare products out there are fairly pricy

  • I agree that the product may be great...... I love the results..... (at 3:00.) I also have the same hair type..... I'd just rather run out the house having water runnin' down my neck, with my hair drenched,,,,shirt and all!!!!!!!! LoL

  • lol the that is not the finished look I would want lol

  • thats a really nice bathroom

  • lies lies and more lies

  • Its so expensive!

  • I have used several of the products and I think its great the shampoo and leave in conditioner is great my hair is soft. I would compare kinky curly creme to kinky curly custard except that kinky curly isn't hard or greasy. it not greasy like it better and every body has a different end result. You have to play around with just like anything else you purchase.

  • it pretty much looks the same as before she showered.

  • No it really doesn't though. Her curls were more defined.

  • am I the only one that didnt like the results?

  • She was fine when she stepped out the bathroom with her hair soaked and wet. I don't like it when she blowed it out with a hand held blowdryer. She might as well had left her hair alone to begin with.

  • the only thing i want is that type bathroom

  • WORD! I can't wait to graduate college and have money for a house like this, ugh!!

  • so you do this everyday tho like sit for 15 mins what lol

  • nice hair video! it tells you alot about taking care of natural hair. i think i want to try this product in my hair!

  • waaaaaaaou amasing,

  • o----k.... my hair always curls up when i wet it. so the point of these product lines is what?

just to get your money. you can MAKE your own curl cream @ home. Ugggh.

  • You're so right!

  • AMEN!!! This stuff didn't work for my hair.

  • I think she did not have to do the third step. In my opinion, her hair looked better before she entered the shower, lol. I may try the shampoo and conditioner though.

  • um..i do that to my hair with $1 mousse

  • Does any of these products contain and harsh chemicals and petrolatum??

  • idk about the petrolatum but it for sure has mineral oil, which is just as bad.

  • Love her hair!!!

I cant wait til my hair gets to that lenght! Ima bout half-way there and yea her texture is similar to mine too

  • I want that house.

  • WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS PRODUCT?

  • To basically make your natural hair looked like you have a texturizer, lol ( the third step at least). The first two steps seem normal.

  • no. it's to make your hair look like it does when it's wet. nothing wrong with that D:

  • you do know that she has a texturizer already....

  • Hun, I don't think she does. Look at the first few seconds of the video before she starts washing her hair. That is not texturized har, lol. Water causes our hair to stretch like that.

  • "looked" should be look, lol.

  • I have had a texturizer and i know what it looks like. That is a texturizer. it looks like natural hair when dry but once it gets wet or product is involved the ends can become a dead give away. Plus A.Dikey texturizes many of his kinky haired clients. She was one of the models on his site where he mentioned she received a texturizer in addition to her styling.

  • he wanted to texturize mine as well. i ruled against it though. but his products are amazing.

  • Oh wow! She's my hair twin, maybe i'll try the product's!!!

  • this stuff isn't terrible BUT i don't have a texturizer so it didn't weigh my hair down enough. it was larger than life once it dried!

  • She has a good texture of hair to begin with. And this does not look easy. Let me do the demo with my hair and see about 123

  • I've always wanted my hair like that! Can I get this product in the stores? It looks expensive..are there any cheaper versions that do the same thing?

  • yes this stuff is very expensive. the cheaper version of this product is the kinky curly curling custard. they have a website. its $25 a jar but its wayyy cheaper than this stuff and it works just as well! if you live in new york or la you should be able to find it in local hair stores but if not you'll have to order it off line. i like kccc because its all natural ingredients and conditions your hair! its great!

  • I fail to see how this is "simplicity"

She couldve washed her hair with conditioner,

left some conditioner in and airdry and have had the same results if im not mistaken, without all the heat and damage.

  • i luv this product !

  • This looks like it can work for many curlies and her hair came out looking so nice. However, coming from an ex-product junkie I will pass on even using it. I use some regular ole VO5 condiioner (co washes), clarify weekly and shampoo (I mix shampoo with conditioner) not too often.

  • where can i get this product?

  • LET ME TELL U GUYS MY Hair was natural and this stuff works not only was my hair soft is was very curly i did not even need to add any shea butter to my hair so i crack with natural hair to a perm like 5 weeks ago and i use some to see what happin and oh boy did my hair curl it looks very sexy i ove this stuff

  • Love it love it LOVE IT!!!

  • nice.

  • The narrator has such a soothing voice!!

  • Lol. XD

  • does Hair Rules have anything for my hair? LOCS? I love this video. I am subscribed!

  • On their website it says you can use the kinky curling creme for kinky hair, twists, locks, braids, coiling, texturizers, and silkeneners. So yes, you can.

  • Wow! These products seem promising. Makes me want2try-it-out4myself. Seems like my hair would luv this stuff! I'm going 2 c how&where I can obtain them.:)

    As 4the video: nice-n-classy,&very tasteful; thnx!:}

As 4the bathroom: luv it!! Talk about having/creating a spa experience@home. Besides, who couldn't use a little more TLC? :] This video reminds me 2 luxuriate more often--something I really appreciate. Hmmmm. As-a-matter-of-fact, I think I'll do a little pampering this weekend.

  • lol. I know this vid alone makes me relaxed!

  • my mood!! not my hair, lol.

  • Listen this will work with any sort of creme stuff. I use that pantene creme that comes in the bottle sometimes or I use gel. I'm willing to bet that this stuff is expensive and she used alot of it.

For our hair we jut need to weigh it down with alot of product like this woman did. So dont spend a fortune on expensive crap when you can get the cheap stuff from the drug store.

  • the prices range from $16-$30 for the products in this line

  • I WISH I could agree with you, but I've been trying ALOT of products and I'm not satisfied with any of them. If you know some creme products that work really well with 4b/4c hair and present similar results, please let me know. thanks

  • I guess I have 3c/4a. But my hair is similar to the girl in the video so maybe it is 4b/4c, I dont know. I use lots of different things. PM Hair sculpting lotion on SOAKING WET hair (or sally's version). Or Beyond the Zone frizz control gel from sally's. Pantene smoothing Lisser, etc. You dont want to see my cabinet.

But you just have to try out different things until you find what you like. And you cant assume that the products in the "white section" wont work for you. I shop in both areas.

  • I should also note that my hair is alot thinner than hers and it dries much smoother, probably because I use gel and creme which gives the curls hold. But my curls are about the same size.

  • Have you tried using "Kinky-Curly Knot Today" leave in conditioner in conjuntion with Fantasia IC styling Gel?

  • the cheap ish in the drugstore is the ish that i wont use! expensive doesn't necessarily mean better, i use natural products and haven't looked back since.

  • me too, whole foods market

  • Amen sister!

  • Actually, in the beginning of the video before she wets her hair it looks like my texture. Maybe I'll give this stuff a try. I could have a new wardrobe if I weren't buying new hair products every month. Ugh, I'm such a junkie!

  • Seems to work good on her texture hair. I think she is like 3b-4a texture. I'm more of a 4a-4b maybe a little c in the back lol. I don't know if this will work for me. I'd like to see this product on some really thick tight TIGHT kinky hair.

  • peesashit

  • WHERE YOU GET THIS STUFF FROM

  • I saw it on the urbanella website.

  • I just saw these products in Essence magazine. I'm in search of something that will work with my hair texture and yes I am a product junkie too. This stuff looks promising but I can almost full my gas tank if I get what is suggested. Geuss I'll be riding on fumes for a minute...stay tuned for the product reveiw.

  • See, this is why I'm a product junkie. :)

  • Just saw this ad in Ebony magazine today as I was getting a pedicure at the nail shop. I'm a natural beauty and I'm thinking about trying this product. Hope it does what it says.

  • where are these products located

  • thats a little too much to b doin every morning

  • It might be time to try a new product! This stuff looks good. I use Miss Jessies and I'm wondering if it has a similar effect. Does anyone know how this style is maintained? Do you have to do this everyday?

  • Ole girl's fro was uber gangstalicious!

  • Actually you don't use alot of product I do my hair in the shower. I seperate my hair in 5 sections and put in about 2 "toothpaste" size globs per section. I re-wet my hair and I'm out of the shower in less than 10 minutes. You can let your hair air dry (I have alot of hair- so I let it hair dry for half of the time then defuse for the rest)Also if I let it air dry completely- it's flat so I fluff it out with my fingers. If I'm in a hurry I will defuse completely- it takes about 15 minutes.

  • That's seems like alot of product to be adding to your hair. And then to use any sort of heat on natural hair is drying (even with a defuser). The vid was basically a "how to" on how to shingle your hair rather than how to keep it healthy. I'm just warning those who may not know :)

  • I agree w u ,but I heard that shingling is when you blow dry your hair with the comb attached to the blowdryer. Her curls did appear bigger in the shower, but after all that drying her curls separated.Maybe they really were aiming for the shingle method.

  • From the step by step guide I've seen on MissJessie's hair salons website, shingling involves alot of products, combing, and a blowdryer (with no attachment) to stretch. I'm glad you saw what I was seeing.

  • how do you dry your hair then?

  • Air Dry.

  • where can u git the products? i have hair type similars to hers

  • she is more beautiful in person(in the vid).Love her hair.

  • oh, this is just beautiful! from this vid it looks like really good products!

  • gooooorgeous

    i wish i had a shower/bathroom like that D:

  • where can i get that stuff??

  • okeeey....

  • If you live in NYC you can get the product at Ricky's. Check the Hair Rules website for the Ricky's location.

  • she is soooo gorgeous!

I'd be willing to try this product out

  • First I want to say that I've used Miss Jessie's for years and it's been great for my hair- Miko even cut all of my hair off last year (great cut)- it's been very consistant. I bought the book Hair Rules years ago when I went natural and followed several of the recommendations so I ordered this product 2 days ago and I have to say- LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! My hair is soft, the curls defined (my hair is similar to Lea Muses). I love when a product does what it says it will do!
