  • cocaine kicks in at approximately 5:22 hundred hours. lol

  • Haha, Magnum is no suit and tie guy!

  • 3:32 "Let's stay real calm and cool, I know you get excited... THERE IT IS!!! YOU SEE THAT!!!!"

  • R.I.P Smokin joe

  • Magnum should've smashed the world title. That would've gotten into Flair's head.

  • Flair was always a paper champion with limited skills. Half the time he "won" the belt he cheated. Flair was a joke.

  • @CRoadwarrior Are you kidding me?! As a kid growing up I hated his guts (I always rooted for macho man) but looking back you can't tell me he didn't have skill... And you damn sure can't tell me he wasn't one of, if not THE BEST to ever hold a mic.

  • @shizzle5150 Actually, he was kinda weak at the mic as well. But as a wrestler, I could have beaten him with about another 100 pounds on me. As a wrestler he was weak at best.

  • @CRoadwarrior Weak on the mic? It's obvious you let your personal hate for the guy interfere with your logic. Flair is the best ever on the mic and there isn't a second, third, or fourth place. There's just others receiving votes.

  • @bull864 Yep, weak on the mic. I have been watching wrestling since the early days of the NWA and AWA before Rick won his first championship, and I've never been impressed with him. For most of his career his abilities as a wrestler was a joke, and his speaking abilities were not far behind. There were far better speakers (Dusty Rhodes) and technical wrestlers (Jack Brisco) than Rick.

  • You know, many years ago I told Ric Flair not to do three things:

    1) Run the apron after being thrown into a corner and flipping over the ropes.

    2) Attempt to fly off the top rope.

    3) Bring or wear designer clothing within 50 feet of a wrestling ring.

As you can tell, Ric Flair doesn't listen too well.

  • Yeah, this was classic Ga. Championship Wrestling & Ric flair, better then anything today.

  • My money was on George South.

  • david crockett always looked so pleased

  • i didnt know Muhammed Ali was white. lol

  • 1500 BUCKS, and that is the rough cut. An insult compared what Naitch dons.

It's cool to see Flair performing in the ring on National TV in the studios back in the day against jobbers. Especially for being a main-event wrestler and the World's Heavyweight Champion. Did Hulk ever take on jobbers on TV in a small studio in the Fed?

  • That was awesome!

  • Thats $1,500 man!!!!!!! lol

  • Ric Flair's modesty is what he liked best about himself :D

  • I need a robe like that. But if I bought one it would cost more then my car

  • Barry Darsow...master of the Cobra Clutch

  • ya dumb hick

  • Notice at 5:50 that Flair is wearing those knee pads below the knees. Another Flair trade mark.

  • Tony is just stiring the pot

  • "One move Magnum" A skinnier version of "One move Hogan".

  • FLair Never Poloticked he is problary the smartest guys in the biz he made a BAD GUY that everyone HAD TO BEAT to get over. And back in the day the world champions needed a STRONG STRONG BABY FACE TO LOSE to to keep their cred. Thats why Ric Stayed a heel after he won the belt he knew for him to keep the belt they would need someone bigger to take it from him for more then 3 months!

  • lmao "just gave him a little bit of that alligator right there @ 4:19

  • Michael's in Kansas City still exists to this day.

  • nearly every celebrity was coked up of their head in the 80s so wrestlers were bound 2 be as well and people might think it was only a wwf thing but it wernt it was around the nwa talent as well and the two greatest and biggest names in the 80s n i the history of the wrestling business hulk hogan and ric flair were both taking cocain in the 80s

  • Was he coked up for this or what? Gotta love that guy!

  • Does anybody ever watch part 2? lmao

  • ha!!! the way they sold this...fucking perfect. T.A. is the perfect face and Flair is the perfect heel. There are no words to describe how good this stuff was...

  • tony was about to let rick have it at 9:28

  • Its ironic looking at how much Flair made a big deal about someone stealing the belt and now that belt is up on eBay and whatever money Highspots gets from it it will go to recouping all the money Flair owes them.

  • Khrusher Khrushchev...master of the cobra clutch?

    Or master repossessor?

    Find out next...

  • Ha Ha... thats a "Smash"ing sense of humour you have there cbaldwinjr !!!! lol

  • I used to wait all week for Saturday to arrive,

just to see skits like this go down. Imagine,

Ric Flair wasn't even a Hollywood performer,

but he gave performances - like this one, that

would put most Hollywood performers to

    Shame.

Those 5 or 6 years in the 80's Really was the

golden age of wrestling. The entertainment

    didn't get any better.

"These shoes - cost more than Your House!!"

  • damned ol belly to belly, what a finisher!

  • Tony Schiavone's face just screams "punch me in the vagina."

  • i like how around the 2:00 minute mark

they have the video montage of the greatest moments to date in his career

with flair sort of narrating them

  • Comment removed

  • LOL ALLIGATOR across the face

  • LMAO

    "Thats $1500 right there man"

  • Slick Ric is the ladies man, trash talker, intimidator, great wrestler, interviewee, showman wrapped into one. The early days of Ric Flair are the best. WWE still can't get it right of the last 30 yrs (ok the Divas)

  • they tried with austin and rock lol they were good but man they owe this guy

  • yes!

    that is exactly correct

no one can work the stick like flair

  • George South had flair until magnum interrupted

  • 8:32 - 8:37

that suit costs fifteen hundred dollllllllaaaaaaarss!!!! -tony schiavone

  • too funny tony had a long career run

  • Franco's in Richmond WOO!

  • anyone have the interview where Flair says "It's Rolex time Tully Blanchard"?

    Damn, I love this stuff.

  • Type in Ric Flair Flossy. It's in there.

  • 10 or 11 thousand dollars for those robes!! he's so awesome! this stuff is so much better than today

  • Nice attempt to write me off by saying i'm just a croatian but didn't work dipshit.

  • A feud between him and Jake Roberts would've been an amazing bit of commentary. This is classic and unfortunately extinct in wrestling today.

  • David Crockett is a tool!

  • Rick Flair is the greatest entertainer in wrestling!

  • Hey, easy Ric...easy.

Your belt was there the whole time.

    Just relax.

    No biggie.

  • I don't think I ever saw footage of Flair winning the tital back from Kerry in Japan. Very cool.

  • Too bad Magnum got his carrer cut down in a bad car accident not to long after this. He lived but was never able to wrestle again.

  • Are you sure it was a car accident...I though he always ride around in that funky motorcycle, couldn't afford a real Benz (see You are looking at the man clip)

  • This is what makes Flair the greatest ever.

When it was time - when it was right - Ric got as good as he gave.

  • I am a big Flair fan. He benefited from the advent of Cable TV and PPV.

I would throw guys like Jack Brisco, Harley Race, Lou Thesz and a few other legends right up there too.

  • Whether in front of 50 or 50,000, Flair always gave you a show. The most entertaining wrestler of all time. The best ever...Ric Flair. As Lou Thesz once said about Hogan...Hogan doesn't know the difference between a wrist-lock and a wrist watch. He said that his 90 yr old grandma could do a better leg-drop.

  • This whole showcase defined the excellence of Ric Flair! Whoo!

  • Nobody could carry a show like Flair - the promoters knew that they struck gold when they saw the potential behind Flair.

  • David Crockett cracks me up. Nobody stole your belt. Here it is.

  • I like that old NWA belt . But i agree the big gold is better.

  • "He beats Dusty Rhodes half to death!"

Great stuff. I could watch this all day.

  • 3:36 - LMFAO

  • [to David Crockett]

"get that smart look off your face!"

  • Magnum TA was going to be World Champ but an unfortunate car accident shortened his career.

  • no way - THAT is THE superlative NWA World Championship Belt

  • Lol....just gave him a little alligator across the face!

  • At 8:20 you hear some dude say 'That's $1500 man.' Too funny.

  • lol i heard it too

  • I wish the Von Erichs and Harley Race would've showed up on WCW back in 85. Flair would've gone even more crazy! LOL

  • Pro wrestling has produced some of the best voices in the history of the world (Savage, Jesse "The Body," Hogan, Vince, Flair, Mean Gene, Gorilla Monsoon, etc.).

  • 15 robes, priceless

  • buddy Landell should have been slapped repeatedly for his "flattery" in attempting to reinvent the WHEEL...and the Wheel that spund Pro wrestling in the 80's was RIC FLAIR...

when he would come to Baltimore when i was younger...he would shut down the city....

literally....he was huge in my city...

"Landell you roachlikin' sap"...and your K-mart finery...

  • damn funny moment, beautiful suit, quite a gesture on Flair's part

  • This just shows Flair was right all along. Magnum looks at the chance to be a man and all he sees is a suit. Then he ruins it, when Magnum ripped up that suit (given in good faith) he ripped up his chance to be someone. From this moment on, he was nothing. Flair was right all along, Jethro Bodine. Flair/hero, Magnum/wannabe.

  • It's strange that Magnum looked like a face when he tore an expensive suit custom made for him! Flair was a class act by giving him a beautiful suit. Magnum never beat Ric when it counted so Flair got redemption.

  • Magnum just didn't have "it" to be a world champ, always a secondary champ.

  • buddy rogers died in 1992 he was the "original" nature boy you dumb fuck, do your research before you comment

  • Remember, Buddy gave Flair his blessing to use the name and gimmick. RESPECT. That's the way it was done in the 50's-70's, if you wanted to use another living person's gimmick, you ASKED them for permission, and then wrestled on TV for the rights to use the name to make sure the person taking the name would be seen as "an inheritor", and not just some shmuck who took the name. The sport has changed much, but one other thing is you didn't ALWAYS lose on the way out. That's a McMahon thing.

  • that'afreakboy,

looks like your a little jealous and bitter, hating on Ric Flair like that. Everybody grows old and Ric Flair is one the greatest of all time.

  • Ric Flair was better then all those guys, particulary Hulk Hogan. Hogan can barely do a leg drop in his prime.

All these guys you mentioned including HBK looked up to Flair because they know he is the greatest all around. Real Talk.

  • P.s - Stop the hate....it's not good for ya health.

  • I do not care about Flair's loose skin. He never used steroids like Hogan did anyway. He is a better wrestler and he is just as good on the microhphone if not better then Hogan.

Hulk Hogan is to Flair what Mike Tyson is to Ali in boxing. Hogan and Tyson are just more popular but Flair and Ali are greater then them.

    Nuff said.....move on time.

  • Lol,I got you righ where I wanted you. Angry lil mutant..........Woooooooo

  • tyson isnt half as popular as ali. lmao

  • In today's time he is. Today's younger generations doesn't know Muhammad Ali. Some heard his name but haven't got a clue how important a figure he was back then.

Tyson on the other hand is still as famous as he was in the 90's and it's gonna take another generation for people to start forgeting about him.

  • tyson didnt light the olympic torch. nor will he ever.

tyson will never nearly as popular nor as respected as ali. regardless of what generation we're speaking about. tyson isnt hardly as famous as he was in the 90s. you cant be serious

  • It appears we have a lil communication problem here, you're understanding me.

The younger generation doesn't know wh Ali is and if some do, then barely. I'm 23 years old, I know for a fact that through 1990 to 1996, Tyson was wordwise known, you know how? Because I was living in Croatia and didn't following boxing yet I still knew about Tyson like I knew about MIchael Jordan in basketball like I knew about Hulk hogan.

I didn't hear about Muhammad Ali till I got older and read about him.

  • thats your own ignorance. i assure you that doesnt apply worldwide. ali is a US ambassador. tyson will never be. would never be considered. the only way the two can even be compared is they shared the same profession

  • Hey dipshit, no reason to start the insults. I said Ali is by far the greater fighter, popularity in today's world.......I don't think so.

Keep denying it....all I know is there isn't many people in the entire world..from Asia to Africa to Europe to America to Australia that don't know the name Mike Tyson.

His name reigns supreme in pop culture. FACTS.

  • its not an insult, you are ignorant. do some research. youre croatian. wtf do you know anyways?

  • I concur. Tyson had a rep, but it wasn't a good one, and his boxing skills diminished the more legal problems he had. Muhammad Ali is practically synonymous with shaping modern boxing, and I don't even like boxing.

  • Obviously more then you. I'm gonna school you one more time before i put this to rest. First, its safe to say that all senior citizens who lived in Ali's time know who he is. Those who are alive, but then again those same old ppl know now who Mike Tyson is. But younger people who didn't grow up in the 70's or 80's but were just born in 1985-1990, can you really that a strong 90% of em know who Ali is? High School doesn't teach them about ali, most of aren't boxing fans so how do they know? I WIN

  • he never said that youre an idiot. hogan said he thinks flair is the best

  • How do you justify that he was a backstabber behind the scenes? Flair put over every single person the office asked, he made Sting, Luger, & Koloff and drew good money with Magnum, Steamboat, Race & Rhodes. He has the rep of making anyone look good and being a "company man". The NWA might not have reached as many homes as the WWF did, but it was hardly the "B" team. It all came down to money and money choices, and Crockett over-spent, and future WCW VP's didn't know how to run a wrestling co.

  • @DIESEL0759 Ok I hear u. I think Koloff already was great. He should of dropped the belt to Barry Windham. But overall Wcw f'ed up. Thats Why WWE suck because there is no comp.

  • Jim Crocket was just stiring up things. LOL!

  • I swear, Flair was the man but Schiovone and Crockett used the phrase " Worlds Heavyweight Champion" way too much. we all new Flair was the champ, please..........lol

  • Well back then, when you were the "World's Heavyweight Champion", that meant something. There was no "NWA Champion" along with a seperate "NWA World Heavyweight Champion"...if you wore the belt Ric Flair wore...you were the best, plain and simple. Flair really had his character down pat, and that's why so many people wanted to see him either win or lose. He was to the NWA what Hulk Hogan was to the WWE (F) back in the 80's, and until the early 90's, we could only dream of a Flair/Hogan match.

  • Kerry Von Erich's foot was on the ropes

  • But the ref didn' see it!

  • "Looking how I look and being as great as I am, you can understand why I get so excited about myself"! The most self-absorbed line ever and I cracked up when I heard it.

  • rambo who? summer of 1985!

  • i love this

  • This was a great angle. That was a really nice suit though.

  • Thanks so much

  • Flair was great at putting Magnum over, since he was due at getting the world championship in the not too distant future. Alas, his accident ended all that.

While Flair sold the belly-to-belly suplex, the only thing was missing was Magnum doing a self three-count in a mock pin. That would've made this incident more humiliating on the Nature Boy. :)

  • all man, thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
