  • If USC resided or played in the SEC WEST they would win the title every year. SC is just too dominant for those teams down south.

  • This arkansas team won the sec west and almost beat florida for the sec championship. It was the first game for both USC and arkansas this year. I guess the razorbacks were not as prepared as USC was. Winning is accredited to good preparation not hype.

  • @YOUTAIA Just another SC victory against the SEC!!!

  • Comment removed

  • For those who say alabama has a winning record against USC, your point is? UCLA is 2-1 vs alabama all time.

  • @deusc15

    @timpricepolo

I'm back. 7 of the last BCS championships were one by a SEC team. Now here is an article displaying stats on who's played the hardest season EVER. The facts are just that. Read it and weep. You can't argue against this. Enjoy.

    h**p://bleacherreport.c*m/articles/967640-2011-lsu-tigers-why-they-are-the-most-accomplished-team-ever

  • I honestly wish there was more sec vs pac games

  • Darren McFadden sighting at 1:32

  • LSU vs Bama rematch in national championship game. It's going to be bad

  • Now we are getting into "your opinion" of who should be ranked or not. So the whole of the personnel BCS is wrong and so is ESPN and EVERY COACH is NCAA!!! Catcha grip man. You're not that smart.

Guess we're not talking about the same year. LSU play 7, yes seven ranked teams this season. Maybe 8 or 9 depending on the end of this season.

  • another vaunted SEC defense getting lit up by SC...Fight On! oh, by the way, We're BACK!

  • Check out the charts lower down the page. These are facts, not opinions. Its not lopsided to any conference. Just shows the SEC is kicking ass and getting better all the time.

    Wiki BCS history

  • Also, 30 years ago the SEC was populated with mediocre teams. We were close to Sun Belt level. The teams you see today are teams that have stepped up to be contenders. Slowly over the last decades we have begun to dominate. So saying our is stacked intentionally is nonsense. 30 years ago anyone could beat SEC teams. Not so now.

  • I guess you guys just have blinders on. Grabbing at long lost games to hold yourselves up. The rankings and the games being played recently just dont count. USC played one ranked team this year I think, if I remember correctly and they still have 2 loses. LSU opening the season beating a very highly ranked Oregon doesn't mean anything. LSU has played 7 ranked teams and unbeaten so far. Not to mention the last 3 championships were won by SEC.

    Yeah, we suck.

  • @MrBrannonmay Let's take a look at the 6 ranked teams LSU has played. Miss State and Florida are 5-6 and 6-5 respectively. They were both massively overrated. West Virginia plays in a terrible conference. A bad Syracuse team beat them by the same amount LSU did. They also lost at home to a Louisville team that lost to Marshall and FIU. No longer ranked. Auburn has four losses and should be unranked, and will be if Alabama beats them. Oregon and Bama are good.

  • @MrBrannonmay USC is 2-1 against ranked teams this year. We have improved a lot since the beginning of the year when we had a bad loss to Arizona State. I'm not saying we're as good as LSU, but besides them and Bama, there are very few, if any teams that would win a majority of games vs SC on a neutral field.

  • @MrBrannonmay You get hung up on the phony rankings propped up by an unwarranted reputation. USC lost to 1 loss Stanfurd who was #4 at the time in OT, beat #4 Oregon at Oregon, beat now #22 Notre Dame at ND. By seasons end, LSU will probably not have played anything close to 7 ranked teams since W Va, FL, MSU and Auburn won't be ranked any more and never should have been. Northwest State is a I-AA team, not even an FBS team, what a joke. Shouldn't even count as a win.

  • @chipOTOB10 ... USC lost to the Sun devils!!! I didn't see that at first. Funny.....

  • Oh yeah. Please look at the rankings after you read my post. The SEC has 6 or 7 teams ranked and the top three are SEC. Thats half of our conference! You just cant deny the numbers. Chew on that for a while.

  • @MrBrannonmay Of course, when half your league stinks and you schedule sub-par teams at home like Troy, Western Ky, GA Southern, N Texas State, it is easy to rack up 8 or 9 wins every season. Every team in the Pac 10 has shared or won a league title over the last 20 years because the league is balanced. When was Vandy's last SEC title? Ole Miss? MSU? KY? South Carolina? Ark? What a joke conference. Schedule some tough road games in BCS conferences and then pop off.

  • I don't hear to much from you guys lately. LSU!!!! No team is perfect. But they for the most part destroyed every neg comment listed below. West coast teams seem to prefer beach volleyball. It is what it is.

USC lives in their own world and screams "I am the best team ever!!" I know its a hard pill to swallow. You guys are just Tiger Bait!

  • @MrBrannonmay Hmmm I seem to remember USC is 17-10 against the SEC and I remember a bunch of drunk yokels at LSU chanting "tiger bait" in 1979 and USC spanked #20 LSU at home and went on to finish unbeaten.

  • @TimPricePolo USC didn't go unbeaten that year. Alabama was the only unbeaten team. 12-0. Beat us (Arkansas) in the Sugar Bowl. I believe USC went 11-1 and beat Mich 17-10 in Rose. I think that's the game where Charles White fumbled at goal line but it was ruled a TD.

  • @TimPrincePolo yeah right...

  • we'll beat USC if we played them now.

  • @chipOTOB10 There isn't an SEC team that could beat USC on a neutral field right now. Maybe when LSU stops scheduling Western Kentucky & Northwestern State they would could actually improve as a team.

  • @hognutt2 wasnt this arkansas team the west divison camp that year shut up 19-9 vs sec opponents give me break

  • @billylomax85 USC is 2-5 all time vs Bama

    SEC baby!

  • @hognutt2 Yea keep playing schools like Furman, and Georgia Southern.

  • @hognutt2

LOL. You have any idea how retarded your statement is? You cite USC's record against one team, Alabama, and then use that as evidence in support of an entire conference.

Sack up dude, in the past decade, USC's total score against the Hogs is 120-30.

  • @IsaacH1273 Funny you say my statement is retarded because I cite USC's record vs ONE team. Then you go and do the same. And you get the total score wrong. Wish USC play Bama, LSU, Arkanasas, or South Carolina this year. Roll Tide.

  • USC needs to play ranked football teams all season THEN come play in an SEC game. This is the environment we play in. We are beat up, tired and injured by the 7th game. USC plays a leisurely season against Pacific teams in perfect, cool weather. They are virtually rested with minimal injuries. Then after we all get winded and injured they want to play. These are completely different environments.

  • @MrBrannonmay Another truly delusional SEC fan.

  • @MrBrannonmay i didn't know SEC fans were so ignorant.... dude.. we always crush the SEC in the regular season AND in the post season. there are no excuses.

  • @MrBrannonmay Right... USC plays those "Pacific" teams like MN (Big 10), Syracuse (Big East) and Notre Dame while LSU has NW State, Western Ky and Bama has Kent Stat, N Texas & GA Southern and all home games too. The SEC plays phony ranked teams from their own conference with cupcakes like UK, Ole Miss, MSU and Vandy to pad the win totals. SEC is the phoniest confernce in FBS.

  • dude dont act like Arkansas was a good Sec team that yr, USC aint played Florida or LSU or Alabama or Georgia when they were good

  • Southern Cal scored 120 points in two games including 70 on the Hogs in one game...USC has the SEC's number(19-9 all time vs the Southeast)....That's why they don't want to play Southern Cal.

  • @JMERT21 LOL A Mallet-less, Bobby Petreno coached Arkansas team, is going to beat USC. I admit we're in a rebuilding period, but we could kick the crap out of Arkansas ANYTIME.

  • I'm a hog fan. Not to take anything away from SC. They were a great team but Arkansas couldn't beat any SEC team the way they played SC. SC scored 31 points off 8 Arkansas turnovers. So no they weren't really the same team that won the SEC western division in 2006 because this was in the season opener and the hogs were much improved by the time they won 10 strait games and lost to Florida by 10 in the championship game.

  • @ks0688 Funny thing about season openers are that it's the first game for BOTH TEAMS. To top it all off, USC had just lost 11 starters to the NFL including former Heisman winners Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart along with all-time great LenDale White. Please, this was the first game of a whole new era of SC football. McFadden being hurt was much less than what USC just lost.

  • yea the sec is good 4 in a roll

  • I have nothing but 110% respect for the SEC and I absolutely appreciate their style of play and the quality of play those players and coaches put on the field every game, every week, every year....but the issue is SEC "FANS"...who can't be Humble when their team is Successful..It is so bad that as a USC and Pac-10 fan I'm arguing against the SEC team that i've admired even in the Mike Dubose, Mike Shula, Tyrone Prothro, Tyler Watts, Andrew Zow, Dennis Riddle, Freddie Millons days

  • you shouldn't respect the SEC. they play shit teams in and out...are terrified of the Pac 10...and are in a corrupt conference. when they play decent Pac 10 teams..they get spanked

  • @eKriZZLe Also, an LSU team that nearly beat Bama and Florida was dominated by Penn State and was lucky to still be in the game late (Penn State was a good team though, but not quite NC caliber, but they sure looked it dominating LSU as much as they hyped up LSU before the game).

  • Okay I Get It Bama is Supposedly Better Than USC in 2009, but why no USC VS Bama Talk from 2002-2008... Before Nick Saban Got To Alabama You Would Have Never Posted any comment on here Bashing USC. It's Cool Though Hey I Bet Alabama Wouldn't have any Issue Scheduling The Trojans now that Nick Saban has the Tide Rollin Again and Pete Carroll Gone. Didn't Arkansas in 2006 and Auburn in 2003 beat The Crimson Tide those two years,And For Your FYI, Where were your arguments in between 1992 and 2008

  • I know the second song on this video is called "Street Fighting Man". Does anyone know who sings this version?

  • Wow, was this game really as one-sided as the highlight video indicates? I would not be surprised, USC beat Iowa the same way in 2002 (the first football game that I can remember watching in its entirity), my parents and I believed that Iowa would win for much of the game, but alas, USC pulled away in the second half. I have to admit that USC has been a good team in the past few years, but I would like a rematch someday between Iowa and USC, hoping that it may turn out differently.

  • USC should play someone better than Ark or Auburn. Bama leads the all-time series with USC 5-2, FYI.

  • a 23-0 victory over sixth-ranked Auburn in front of 90,000 stunned fans who watched their Tigers gain only 164 yards...

  • You know damn well USC would love to play bama or anyone else in the SEC. Its amazing after that last beat down Arkansas took in Arkansas the SEC stop calling USC, I wonder why?

By the way did bama score a touchdown in it last game?

  • @whaledog77 Ok, come on out to Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge this year. It wouldn't be close. And you know "damn well" that's the truth.

  • @hognutt2 "Ok, come on out to Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge this year." Spoken like a true SEC fan who doesn't know that most college teams actually play road games. How many non-conference BCS teams do any of the SEC teams play and play them on the road? When did Vandy, MSU, Ole Miss or UK last win an SEC title? The top SEC teams play 2 or 3 tough teams and then skate.

  • @TimPricePolo Spoken like a true Pac12 fan. SEC has THREE teams at the top. 1-2-3. Learn to accept it.

  • @hognutt2 Sure when you schedule all your non-conference games at home against 1-AA teams like GA Southern or weak, non-BCS conference schools and then play jokes like Ole Miss, Vandy, KY, etc in conference it is easy to get to 10 or 11 wins, you only really need to win one or two games. Get a real schedule. Go back through the SEC for the last 10 years and tell me how many non'conference games were on the road and how many BCS opponents. Do the same for the Pac 12. Results will be eye opening.

  • @whaledog77 Bama and LSU would annihilate them.

  • This is the Arkansas team that played in the SEC title game in 2006?

  • no wonder damian williams transferred, he was tryin hop on that USC wave. FIGHT ON TROJANS

  • @thecommission19 It was really because Arkansas was more of a run-oriented offense at the time, but I think that would be the case for Mustain.

  • Hey fellow SEC fans. We need to get our ADs to accept the challenge from SC. SC repeatedly requests to play more SEC teams, especially the powerhouses. But ever since they beat us 4 years in a row (and it wasn't even close), our ADs no longer want to play USC. If we're the toughest conference, then we shouldn't back down from a challenge. We need to have the balls. USC has said they'll play "anyone, anywhere, anytime." We should do the same or else we can't really say we're the toughest.

  • Finally an unbias SEC fan. I'll give you mad props for that!

  • Thank you for saying this. I've been telling all my friends this. But they don't believe me. I would love to see USC play Florida. But that'll never happen.

  • I want to see a Florida-USC game or another USC-Texas game-- OR BETTER YET a Florida Texas game! This would be killer football. I am a florida fan, as well as Texas, and while this killed me back in 06, I gotta give USC mad props on this- they're just an incredibly talented team to do what they always do. I think that UF would give them a GREAT run for their money and would be an explosive game both offensively and defensively.

While I hated USC for the back to back ass whoopin, I respect them

  • Ur the one SEC fan who makes since... u must not be a UF fan. lol...

  • @SECpride100 you have my upmost respect for what you just said good luck to who ever your favorite team is

  • haha....congrats on beating the SEC's worst team....besides maybe vandy. haha. o yea....and wheres the hit on the kick off return that put 2 of your USC players down and crying lol.

  • dude, Arkansas played for the SEC Championship that year, they were far from the "worst" in the SEC.

  • idc what arkansas did that year...they suck historically and have always been awful.

  • clearly you don't know your history, Arkansas was consistantly in the Top 20 from the late 50's to 1990, they also won the National Championship in 1964. they fell off a cliff in 1990 and haven't quite been able to get back up.

  • ty for proving my point...they suck and pretty much always have in the SEC

  • ok, you said that they have always sucked and historically sucked, I corrected you. yea, the Hogs haven't had a ton of success in the SEC, but they haven't "sucked" as you say.

  • They went to the SEC championship in 06 so I agree with you.

  • thanks.

  • Also I don't know if USC would be able to put 40 points on UF but I think 28-14 would be a better assessment. I hate Urban Meyer but he's the 2nd best coach out there and he always keeps a close game.

  • That is true, Florida is usually very bowl prepared, so 40+ might be a bit much. But I still think it would be a blowout, but not a nuking like what happened to Oklahoma. Maybe a 31-10 or 35-14 type of game. But it would be close for the first half. With the exception of the last Rose Bowl, USC usually feels out the team for the first half of a bowl with either a small lead, a tie, or a defecit, and then runs up points like a cash register in the second half.

  • I agree it does seem like that alot. We only lose when we have a bad 1st half. second half is always domination.

but i think in the end, the only national contenders in recent memory i can think of is usc, texas, and the sec champion whomever that may be that year.

i respect texas b/c they always keep a close game no matter who they are playing and i think mack brown rounds out the top 3 coaches along carroll and meyer.

sec champ has won the past 3 so u gotta respect that too.

  • You are mostly right that Texas keeps close games, only exception I can think of is the 24-7 win Ohio State had over Texas (although I guess 24-7 isn't exactly a laugher). The best conferences probably are the Big XII and SEC recently, and the Pac-10 and Big 10 have some good years too. The Big East has been unimpressive, while the ACC I think is better than advertized at the top some years. But I agree, USC is one of the few teams that can turn a 17-7 halftime defecit into a 42-17 blowout.

  • I could see a few of the PAC-10 teams ranked next year including Oregon as a preseason top 10 along with USC. The problem is sometimes the conference tends to do poorly with high expectations. And the OOC conference schedule for the PAC-10 is as horrible as ever. Next year will be interesting for sure.

  • are you nuts? the OOC for the Pac 10 is always the best in the nation. most percentage of BCS conference teams along with the lowest percentage of FCS teams. when they play mid-majors, they play the best mid-majors. mid-majors that shit all over Alabama.

  • Bottom line is defense wins championships and the best defense this year, if not ever, was not in the game. Dumb voters. Eventually though the SEC will have to face USC again and we will remind them how big games are played. Fight On baby

  • I think after the Pac-10 went 5-0 in bowl games in 2008, the conference is going to get a lot more respect from voters. So if USC loses to a Pac-10 opponent in the regular season in 2009, it might only drop them from #2 to #6, for example. And that's pretty easy to recover from. And I agree, USC will probably pour at least 40 points on the SEC champion and hold them to less than 20 and win by at least four TDs.

  • I think after this series with Arkansas and the one with Auburn, USC is officially black balled by the SEC. They just hid behind their conference too. I mean before the past couple years, who the hell cheers on their conference? It's a shame voters are so east coast bias or they would of realized that the Big 12 sux. Their big 4 (OU, Texas, TTU, Ok St.) went 1-3 but boy oh boy, can they sling that ball boy. Oh wait, what happened when u play a legit defense? i guess no more 60 points a game huh?

  • Who the fuck is Utah. And they beat Alabama! OMG. Petey would run them over. Fight On. Trojan Power. Go S.E.C.

  • To be fair, although I think USC would beat Utah (2008 versions of the team, that is), it would have been a great game. They didn't just beat Alabama, they controlled the game from the getgo.

  • you used Oasis' cover of Street Fighting Man---you have to shave off big style points for any goober who would pick that version.

  • where were the stupid SEC chants in this game?

    or how about Utah alabama?

  • I think the Utah win in the Sugar Bowl will put a lid on most of those SEC chants. Really the only SEC team I wanted to see win was Vanderbilt, since it was their only winning season in decades.

  • A nice thorough ass raping of the SEC runner-up. Ahhhhh, never gets old.

  • "What they need's a damned good whacking!", I'd say that USC clearly gave the Arkansas Piggies a damned good whacking in this game. And it seems that USC does indeed own the SEC, especially recently. This was the #2 SEC team, and USC used them as a cupcake road game. USC and Penn State are two teams that own the SEC thoroughly and indesputably.

  • Weren't these guys SEC west champs and didn't they nearly beat Florida that year? Kind of weird to think about.

  • PAC-10 is 5-0 in bowl games this year.

  • USC > SEC

  • Love the Beatles, Love Oasis, and oh yeah, I LOVE SC!!! Fight on!!

  • An SEC team that went to the SEC title game just lost to a horrible pac10 team

  • The SEC is 6-10 vs the Pac-10 according to one of the ESPN commentators.

I assume thats in the reguar season.

  • Yeah, Tenn going to the SEC championship was a joke, they only went b/c they didn't play LSU or Auburn that year like UF did and scraped by beating UK, South Carolina, and Vandy all either in OT or by a last second score. But the Pac10 looks great this year, I mean 1-6 against the Mountain West Conference and having one ranked team some weeks is great. You really showed us simple minded SEC folk up.

  • Hey its not USC's fault our conference is down this year. No matter what you think of our program on a personal level (you know, LA being such a cool city, dominating in recruiting 5 star talent including the south, drop dead gorgeous co-eds, media darlings, etc.) you have to admit, in big time OCC games we kick ass no matter what the conference. At this point I would rather us play an SEC team to make it 5-0 than go to yet another NC.

  • This game's score seems like a disappointment compared to the 70-17 score the year before

  • and this arkansas team won the sec west. Wow.

  • Well Cal that was behind 35-0 to Tennessee tied as Pac 10 champs the same year.

  • well, i think the sec is the best conference. Im a big USC fan just so you know. But saying that USC is only good becuase the Pac-10 is weak is the only thing that bothers me. The PAc-10 is probably the second best. But whenever USC lays SEC or other conferences teams, they win those. Auburn, Arkansas, Illinois, ND..etc. The only team they lost to was Texas, but Vince Young went beserk in that game.

  • nah bro 1. SEC

    2. Big 12

    3. Big 10

    4. Pac 10

    5. ACC

    6. Big East

  • The Big 10 is not better than the Pac-10. Especially not last year. With the PAc-10 slamming the Big 10...Oregon>Mich and USC>Illinois...not to mention the best Big 10 team losing to LSU.

As will be proven again this year during the USC - OSU.

I just don't see the big ten as being that strong. They generally have teams that are a little on the slow side. OSU certainly has not been helping the cause.

  • Well most experts agree with me and my list above.... some even have Pac 10 5th...

USC only played 4 opponents with winning records last year..

  • SEC Pac-10 Big 12 Big Ten Big East ACC Cal beats MSU UCLA beats Tenn. Mizzou beats Illinois NIU nearly beat Minn. at there place and Meeschegan loses to Utah, but the Big Eleven had a positive Penn State 66-10 over Coastal Carolina
  • Michigan is in a rebuilding year. Wasn't that big of an upset.

Although none of that matters because Michigan will beat an SEC team in a bowl game...again. (if they make it :) )

  • wow man you need to listen to some better music like foreal

  • You know topppps, your statement for the video almost made me cry...how do people pull their opinion out their own ass? I pray it was intirely meant for humorful sarcastic purpose...

  • It's so sad because after this beat down, Hawgs fans had to go back to their trailers in redneck Arkansas and cry themselves to sleep about how much better California is better than their state in everything, including one of the things they take the most pride in: football. It's sad because the one and only real highlight of their football team in two seasons was beating a badly injured LSU team this past year in 3OT.

  • ur just a tepical longhorn fan, arrogant and just so damn cocky. Arkansas is not filled with rednecks as u and the country so believe and we don't really give a crap about California. and after this game we won 10 straight including a onesided win over #2Auburn and a thrashing of TN and the SEC West title. so go suck one u faggot. its longhorn fans like u who make me hate texass and not respect them.

    btw its ARKANSAS.

  • Except for one big loss against LSU in that shithole Fayetteville. All that matters is USC: 50, R-Kansas: 14, along with a bowl loss and losses to 2 out of the 3 good SEC opponents you played, Florida and LSU. Auburn wasn't even that good last year. I think they got less than 200 yds againt Nebraska and only about 140 against LSU. They should have lost to LSU last year at home, and got manhandled by UGA as well.

  • we lost to LSU in Little Rock. Auburn was #2 when we beat them and they were the only team to beat Florida that year, you know the NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. and u notice it wasn't ur "grande" shorthorns that beat Arkansas this bad, it was USC, not Texass.

btw Austin ain't exactly a paridise.

  • It doesn't matter who beat down the dirty hawgs, R-kansas still lost 120-31 in two games and I think it's funny regardless of who administered the beatdown. It's funny what you said about Austin, seeing it has been voted one of the top large cities to live in and is far more progressive and advanced than either of those two shitholes in R-Kansas, Fayetteville and Little Rock. I've been to both and I don't plan on visiting again anytime soon.

  • Both places are full of hick hawg/SEC fans who probably chant SEC when the Hawgs play a bottom feeder from another conference because beating an inferior team from another conference clearly demonstrates SEC superiority.Yeah, UT didn't administer this beatdown but we did beat the Trojans in Pasadena the same year they raped the Hawgs 70-17. I wonder how many points UT would've hung on them? Don't worry, UT will beat down the Hawgs this year when they come for a visit to Austin

  • trust me, I know little rock ain't the best place to be, cuz it's crime rate is one of the highest in the nation, but anyways back to football. U can't go by who beat who on who would win, I'm not saying we would have beat Texas that year by anymeans, but it would have been closer than 70-17. and I know Arkansas normally plays a pathetic OOC scedule, look at this past season it was filled with Sun Belt teams, which I didn't like btw. and I don't think blasting those teams showed SEC superiority.

  • Yeah its about the first time Texas has scheduled a SEC team in years. Probably because your AD knows that Texas doesn't have to play great teams all the time in their conference. Only Oklahoma really for you boys and a flash in the pan Mizzou and Kansas doesn't count as real competition either. And by the way I'm a USC fan that has way more respect for the SEC than the Big 12. Plus everyone knows Texas is the land of the retard, just look at our current President! Thank you Texas douchebags!

  • We've played SEC teams in the past, along with good OOC games, including Ohio State and an upcoming home and home with UCLA. I've been a little too hard on the hawgs, but only because my two favorite teams are UT and LSU; both are strong rivals of Arkansas.I do respect the SEC as a conference but I do think they are overrated and their fans greatly exaggerate the SEC's strength. There are plenty of good Big 12 teams besides just OU and UT. Texas Tech, A&M, and Colorado are usually solid teams.

  • I do think the toughest division in college football is the Big 12 South with all those talented qb's they have down there. However the #1 conference hands down is the SEC.

  • Name-calling, and talking about how "shithole" places are, doesn't really make you look intellegent, and it doesn't support your team or opinion well. I don't necessarily believe in "SEC superiority", but they did win 6 of 8 bowl games last season...can't ignore that.

  • Are you a Texas fan? Because Texas is just as redneck as Arkansas. I'm a Trojan fan and have alot more respect for the SEC than the Big 12.

  • Hey I'm not a GWB supporter and just because he came from Texas doesn't mean the rest of the state is like him. Do you know how many backwards, fucked up people come from Cali? Too many to count believe me, but still I love the place. Austin is not hick at all. In fact, many of the cities and suburbs of Texas strongly resemble those found in California. BTW this is the 2nd home and home we've had with Arkansas this decade and we have another one with Ole Miss and potentially Auburn as well.

  • Kansas, as overrated as they are, are still decent. Mizzou looked really good this past year, and Nebraska is an historical power and will rise again. Besides USC, how many great, consistent Pac-10 teams are there. Oregon and Cal are great but inconsistent, and AZ State is decent. Oregon State and Washington have their moments. Washington State hasn't been good in awhile and Arizona and Stanford are just bad.

  • The difference is our outer conference scheduling blows Texas's out of the water. Granted our conference isn't the SEC but we're the #2 in the land and gaining on the SEC. Our AD keeps our OC games competitive usually. At SC we have to make a statement and after we crushed Auburn twice and Arkansas we can't get the Georgia or Florida AD to pick up the phone. "Anybody, anywhere." There's a big sign that says that on the USC practice field.

  • I'm not arguing with you about USC's OOC scheduling. They schedule better than every Div.1 school. Remember that the Big 12 has to play a conference championship which means that if Horns want a BCS bid they have to play at least 9 BCS teams, similar to USC having to play a round robin schedule in the Pac-10. I'm glad our AD has picked up at least one BCS opponent for the next couple of years (Arkansas, UCLA, Ole Miss). I hope we get to play Auburn too; that's a great road trip.

  • I wish we could play one BCS opponent and a mid-major (like TCU) every year, not just to strengthen the schedule but for more interesting games to watch. If I were a USC fan, I would be excited about almost every game especially when you play Virginia, ND, and tOSU in the same year, or like last year when you played ND (when they were good), R-Kansas and Nebraska. Plus some good Pac-10 matchups. USC beat up the SEC, which is why it irritates me when SEC fans gloat about the conf. being so tough.

  • True, but SEC fans have every right to gloat because of the sheer number of talented teams in their conference probably like 7 out of 12 teams in the SEC are powerhouses compared to maybe 4 out of 12 in the Big 12 and 3 out of 10 for the Pac 10. Objectively speaking it is the finest conference and I only wish I could say that about my Pac 10. However we are making strides to level the playing field. I'm still pissed at the Big 12 prez for not backing the SEC about a playoff system too!

  • USC beating Arkansas, is not USC beating up the SEC. One team getting beat doesn't mean the whole conference is bad. Arkansas has apparently not done the conference justice, but 6 of 8 SEC teams won their bowls this last season. I have nothing against USC though, they're on the path to another Championship game, whether they lose it or not, can't tell with how they seem to lose when it's most important.

  • And Auburn?

Forget the talk...let the guys just play. The SEC is very good...but they are not great or superior.

They just have some very passionate loudmouth fans with too much time on their hands. So they post all the time. It is time to play and shut up.

  • When was the last time an SEC team beat USC?

  • 1-1-1987 Auburn defeated USC 16-7 in the Florida Citrus Bowl now the Capital One Bowl in Orlando.

  • wow...thats like 21 years ago...pretty sure no one cares about that anymore.

  • you asked shithead, and I could careless, but stats are stats, but heres a better old school fact 55-0 in 66' in the Coliseum and we still own the series.

  • I did ask, thanks for showing your maturity with the name calling.

But your response actually helps my point. It was 21 years ago when the SEC last beat USC. Which means they have dominated the SEC for two decades.

Beatdowns from 50 years ago have no bearing on the current rankings and victories.

  • well you wree being a smartass, and yes the whole point of college football that makes it special is the history. As far as SC dominating the SEC I have no problem with that and I hope they beat OSU in two weeks, but there is one school that has SC's number over the course of history.

  • Yeah! I hate R-Kansas so much, first as a Texas fan, and former Southwest Conf. rival to the dirty Hawgs, but second as an LSU fan who can't stand that entire team, fan base, along with the rest of the ignorant SEC fan base. Most of you guys are right on with the SEC logic for their "our conference is so tough" chanting. For once, I can cheer for the Trojans, and how they beat R-kansas 120-31 in two games.

  • Wasn't the only player that had going for them, darren mcfadden injured?

  • He was injured, but he played. I love how, when USC loses by ONE point to Stanford, no one gives a darn that their QB was playing with a broken finger and threw 4 interceptions in the second half. But when USC puts up 50 on the Hogs, the line is always that McFadden was injured ---- as if he alone could have made up a 36 point deficit.

  • That's true in most ways, but Stanford had a bad season (if i recall), and Arkansas did not. Losing to Stanford was probably more substantial than them beating Arkansas.

  • So much for the SEC runner-up.

  • sec is overrated!!

  • I say during the off season we have a confrence clash type thing like senior bowl but with all the best players with all teams... Like Pac 10 team, Big 10 team, Sec Team, Acc Team etc. And whoever the best coach of each confrence is each year will coach there confrence aka les miles lsu, big 10 would be ron zook or jim tressel pac 10 would be peat Carrol etc.

  • For So much speed they hit like pussies LOL good job Trojans.

  • Hmmm, I thinnk I'll make a compilation showing the Arkansas_LSU game from tonight...

  • That would be great man

  • awesome, great job

  • Phenomenal!

  • But their conference schedule is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tough. And they beat each other up :)

Check out Arkie's OOC schedule for 2007. What a joke. At least they get to destroy Trojans... Troy Trojans that is. I hope it will make them feel better.

  • Im so tired of hearing how great the SEC is, SEC formula; Plpay very few games of consequence ooc, try to play at home, and when you do, make sure its late in the season after ratings inertia has set in, that way, if a team dissapoints, another one takes there place because they beat xyz sec team. And if they continue to get rewarded for it, why should they bother to change?

  • Right on man fight on

  • Thank You! Thank You!

I too am tired of hearing the SEC get proclaimed the toughest conference year in and year out. The only teams that impress me this year in the SEC are LSU, Georgia, and for the most part, Florida. Those three teams do deserve the praise they get. Other than that, what's there to brag about right now? Auburn? Tennessee? Kentucky? Please.

  • Also, when an upset occurs in another conference, to an SEC fan, it means those teams were overrated, but an SEC upset somehow proves that their conference is so amazingly tough.

I'm not saying the SEC is a bad conference. The top teams in the SEC are usually amongst the best in the country. However, it definitely has its fair share of weak teams, but nobody ever mentions them.

  • Now, whenever I hear SEC fans proclaim conference superiority, I begin to wonder if it's to merely cover their a**es in case of future mediocrity. A stronger fan base does not equal a better conference and neither does parity.

Thank you for reading this tirade.

    FIGHT ON!
