Krav Maga is weak, watered down Hapkido. It's only good for people who cannot commit to a real martial art and don't want to show respect (bowing) or calling someone a master. they wear tennis shoes, sweatpants and t-shirts. what else needs to be said? it's a very arrogant style of self-defense. same thing as the MMA "phenomenon". no wonder it works in America... where the majority the people have no respect, no discipline and no values or principles. try a real martial art 4 self defense
@kohanjin If you look at the history of Krav Maga you will find it came from arts such as Haganah, Lotar and Kapap. Theses arts were being used in Israel long before Hapkido was around. Hapkido is a great art though. These Israel arts were designed to be super fast and aggressive. They are just a bit diiferent in their background than say the more traditional arts.
@Sharkman3472 To be honest it's basis is Jujitsu/Hapkido, but with further wrinkles and modifications, and perhaps some grappling and combat techniques blended in from those arts you mentioned.
Lets be totally truthful, the basis of things like Krav Maga, the Russian "Systema" etc, is at their core Japanese/Korean martial arts.
do you have a video of defense against a standing double wrist grab, attacker grabbing both of the defender's wrists. The only thing that I've found is aikido's techinage throw.
Try this: a kick to the groin, a knee to the head, and if the opponent's still holding your hands, throw an elbow to his jaw, kick him in a knee, then, when he's down, stomp on his face. There are some nice krav maga videos about that...
@zerordieb87 i do karate free cause i've been doing it since i was 5 and my job is to teach it and I take kickboxing and jujitsu becase im also signed up at an mma gym
