  • Too bad im a girl otherwise i would so do this!

  • Hahaha ill have to make sure I put on a clean pair that day łol. Thanks for the advice, I'm def feeling more confident about it now. I def appreciate the advice man. I want this so bad its ridiculous. Lol.

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav yeah, mos is an army term. but everyone was calling it that, and it does mean the same thing. when you train with them they'll ask you what your mos is and it's just easier to agree than try to correct them. and you don't need to hang there on the pullups, its max effort or until time runs out. i have the forms for the past test on my work computer, so if you want I can email them to you. as far as the hearing test goes, just hit the button if you think you hear a noise

  • @nickp827 thanks for the advice man. I have the hearing test soon, kinda sweating it. Im just hoping for the best. I guess u can't have any worse than 30 decibel loss so I hope ill be fine. :o

  • I'm leaving January 24 of next year for this job. HOOYAH

  • do you have any tips on how to prepare and what to do to be able to become a cct or special ops weatherman

and qualifications i would need to become a cct or special ops weatherman

  • @divecommando CCT and SOWT PAST qualifications are 2 20m underwaters, 14 min 500m swim, 10:45 1.5 mile run, 6 pull ups. 45 sit ups, and 45 push ups. just went to MEPS and im trying to get into this job. woulda been a PJ but my eyes werent good enough. Hope you get in and hope to see ya there. HOO-YAH Air Force!

  • @TheDJFluffnStuff hey whats up man? im supposed to go to meps here soon. I heard the hearing test was really hard. is that true? any advice??? i need all i can get right now. thanks!

  • @divecommando DJFluff pretty much has it right. I passed my PAST test and am leaving Jan 3 2012 for BMT and after that SOWT school. The swim intimidates people but it isn't that hard. Combat Controllers and PJ have a much more difficult swim and run time to pass. It doesn't sound like a lot, all of it by itself, but when you do the test you more or less do it all at once so make sure you can do it before you actually go take the test. Good luck man!!

  • @strangerthnnorm hey what are the swim requirement for SOWT? and congrats btw i wish i was in ur shoes. im trying to get there! any advice? and is SOWT school supposed to be anything as close to the intensity of the PJ training? let me know and thank you.

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav The PAST test reqs are the same for CCT. it is 2 25m underwater swims, 500m swim under 14 minutes, i do mine in 7, a 10:10 1.5 mile run, my run sucks i do it in about 10:02 almost every time, 6 palm out all the way up and down pull ups i do 12, 45 sit ups, and 45 push ups. the pull ups are in a one minute time so if you stop you have to hang there until the time is done. same with pushups and sit ups, except time is 2 minutes.

  • @strangerthnnorm the point is to see where you achieve "failure" at and if you are willing to keep going. pushups i did 65 and 67 situps. none of that is that hard to do but doing it all at once sucks.

  • @strangerthnnorm Thanks for your response. I want to get in so bad. I'm fit enough to be a competitor and if its 2 separate 25m swims I'm g2g. My problem is the hearing part. I failed for the navy but, is meps an automated test? Please let me know. I can hear n am so close.

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav It is an automated test. You just sit in this little booth with some headphones on and a clicker and click it every time you hear the noise. nothing extreme. Some people at meps when I went failed because they clicked too much haha. Just don't stress yourself out and think your hearing things when you arent you know? Yeah it is 2 seperate 25m swims not too hard. keep your head down when you do it though.

  • @strangerthnnorm thank u for ur feedback. I'll see what happens.

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav Good luck man. I have 7 days left until I leave for BMT, with selections a couple of days after that. I will letcha know how it goes!

  • @strangerthnnorm thanks so much, I def feel better w the advice u gave me bro. Goodluck at basic, yeah lemme know how it goes. You'll rock it!

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav Thanks man. Never quit!

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav it is just an automated test. its not hard at all. just go in the booth, listen for the beeps and dont be afriad to hit the button. word of advice though, there is almost no delay between tones and each noise gets quieter each time you hit the button if you hear it. honestly you can get into a rhythem and do pretty well on it lol

  • @TheDJFluffnStuff thanks for the response. I'm sweating it but it makes me feel better knowing its automated. One more ? About that, is it every 3 sec or is it automated to go 3 sec, 5sec 3 sec etc. Thanks in advance.

  • @buttholeBANGER31flav its maybe a second after you hit the button. you can almost hit the button right after the first about 4 times and cover all the tones. you WILL hear the first one, its pretty loud. then just listen for the second and find the rhythem. its not hard i promise. now the rest of the medical evaluation...well thats a completely different trip. hope you like being in your underware lol

  • Nothing like putting up a 64 inch orange ballon in a tactical environment.

  • so these guys train with the m4 carbine

  • @AmphibiousReconMSOB I actually think its the Colt Commando. I know other Air Force Specops units use it. If I am wrong I am sorry.

  • @MMAfanDCoDanSRT: Although YOU say someone can't just enlist into Spec Ops combat weather, the fact is, you can. I know this because I leave in about 3 months for that exact job. Combat Weather is a job where you can just enlist to get the oppotunity to try out for the job.

  • I'm in this pipeline right now, its no joke. If you go this route, make sure you are at graduation standards (PT) BEFORE you enter. You can be eliminated for failing a PT test. Also, the pipeline for this career field is 2 years IF you can do it smoothly. You should plan on 3-4 realistically.

  • @ign1te9 i dont understand. whats the point of taking the PAST if you say you should be at graduation standards before you even begin the pipeline? wouldnt that defeat the purpose of even going through the PT pipeline? i dont get it...

  • @MrJohn434 what im saying is, you dont want any surprises. Some guys just end up sucking at push ups, pulls ups or whatever. One thing people dont understand is that, you may be able to do push ups, pull ups, etc. BUT you have to do them the with correct form, which people on the outside have no idea what it is. One guy did 91 push ups, they counted 1, and he got set back.

  • great job

  • such a wierd missio

  • I thought SF got the arrow head patch. Do u have to already be a weatherman to do this? And the eyesight? Does it have to good?

  • @MonsterMotoxx: SOWT used to be assigned to SF groups. The arrowhead patch is the unit patch. You get the second patch once you've seen combat with the unit. Eyesight needs to be waiverable. SOWT is now it's own AFSC, so you can join without being weather.

  • @jimmy12wahington sweet thanks, when i take tha asvab this year i plan on scoring as high as i can to try and get this.......sorry but do you have any idea what you have top score? so bout all the questions.

  • @MonsterMotoxx: A 64 on the ASVAB should get you through the door.

  • @jimmy12wahington thanks. are you a weatherman in the airforce? this is what i want to do but if i should fail i am going for crypto analyst.

  • @MonsterMotoxx

    20/400

    correctable to 20/20

    no astigmatism

  • @ImTylerTheCat Everybody has a certain degree of astigmatism, so it can really only be defined as an issue if you need corrective lenses for it (Which is only a real issue for pilots, according to what I've heard).

  • thats not all sowt is it? looked like some guys were directing aircrafts...

  • Comment removed

  • do these guys go on direct action ops? or are they more prone to recon missions where they don't want to be seen to collect the weather data?

  • Comment removed

  • @SpliffMcTwist thanks man. really helped. im sure you know alot about his job, but is there any way I could talk to him via PMs or something? this is a career field im interested in. i was also wondering if there were any SOWT officers.

  • @marleynrs8: More recon. Weather data is a small part. They collect data on everything.

  • @jimmy12wahington so as in, they go out ahead of everyone else and do special reconassaince, not just of the weather but of everything else? i remember reading some news article that they are attached to SF ODA's as well. basically tell me everything you can about SOWT without OPSEC concerns if you dont mind.

  • hey "queball915". Im glad to hear that. I was just aaccepted with a medical waiver from the Surgeon General. I also am doing Combat Weather. Do you know your shipment date to basic?

  • Comment removed

  • I'd do this...but I'm too freakin' slow!

Yeah I know it sounds bad, but I can't run 1.5 miles in 10'30"...I'm going for regular weather instead.

  • i think the best spec ops is pjs cuz they rescue just about everyone even seals and force recon, the craziest group is prob delta tho some bad ass peeps

  • haha, its funny. combat weatherman sounds funny. some of the toughest mofos in the world are weathermen! im either joinin the USMC, or the USAF and goin either PJ or CCT, CCT more likely. not sure about it though. i mean...if i fail out, id have to get a regular airforce job.

  • just train hard to prepare for it, and you will be just fine...

  • if you want Special Forces join the Air Force or Army, Marines dont have that stuff.

  • @Selino25

ever heard of Marine Force Recon?

  • Apparently you've never heard of MARSOC either?

  • Hooyah!

  • nice

  • badass! Im so glad you put this video up. Im getting sworn into the air force this week and this is THE JOB im going for!

  • queball915: Did you take your ASVAB yet? Did you score high enough to get in the meteorology field? You gotta be in the weather field already in order to go into Combat Weather. My friend at Hurlbert Field (FL) found that out the hard way!!

  • how high do you have to score if you join special tatices do you have to exstend you contract

  • what does your MET score have to be on the asvab to do this?

  • incorrect. combat weather is its own afsoc mos now.

  • Yeah, they do now; it's a "from scratch" MOS, like all the others now. Back in the days when they were Combat Weathermen they only got people who were aleady in weather. Guess they had to change things up to deal with the manpower shortages!

  • @nickp827

Not really, its not its own AFSC, but its a special shred out that you can only ross train into from after joining the regular weather AFSC.. You just cant pick this job out of boot camp, you have to qualify through the regular job first. I tried to retrain into weather just to get the opportunity for this, but im stuck being a crew chief...

  • @DANPSRT4 thats a bummer. the afsc is 1w0x2 but you could be right, you may still need to be admitted into it. thats weird that you couldnt cross train from crew chief into it. last i knew, which was like a year and a half ago, they hadn't passed someone through the indoc because of the weather portion in like five months. i'm sure its changed since then.. but ya know

  • @DANPSRT4 thats incorrect, SOWT is 1W0X2. I am in this career field. You can get a contract for this before BMT. If you cross train, you have to do all the same crap and a non-prior; selection, apprentice course, jump, sere, SOWAC then STTS.

  • @ign1te9 (this is DanSRT as well) Like I said, you can not just enlist right into Special Ops Weather. You have to do your duty as regular weather specialist before you can even see the opportunity to volunteer for Special Ops weather. That is a fact. if you want me to prove it I can post up the AFSC requirements which clearly state that being a journeyman Weather technition is a pre-requisit, U cant be assigned Spec Ops right out of basic/tech school, point blank fact.

  • @MMAfanDCoDanSRT Well, I am wrong... it looks like it has changed as of 2009... I am 2 years off. Good luck to you then on the assignments. This is a first. Prior to 2009 you had to apply after service to join that career field, not so now. You must have just joined up eh?

  • @nickp827 the term "mos" isn't used in the AF. I believe that's army/marines/guard.
