  • Great solo, but I can't hear spider chord :D

  • Nice dean

  • Cool, you have good taste in music, I need a rhythm guitarist like you. I would love to hear you with an amp dialed in to a better tone.

  • @dirtkhan I've been looking for a band forever...I'm just too old...

  • @ekku1979 Well, all the work I want to produce is studio only, I dont think many people are too old for that. I am not in a good position to begin anything immediately but I am a singer /songwriter and I play guitar like all my fingers are toes, one day I will need some help in the guitar department. Either way, the playing sounds good to me. Take care, rock on.

  • @dirtkhan If you really need a rhythm guitarist one day I'm more than willing to give it a shot. I really love playing complex rhythm parts

  • @ekku1979 That is great, I appreciate it. It will be a while before I am ready to do anything, I have a lot going on at the moment, but when I do, I will contact you. Thanks a lot.

  • wheres the spider chord?

  • la guitarra es mas grande que tu XD

  • Only one thing negative I have to say and that was the little gallop picking you did before the spider chord progression made it sound kind of...awkward...

  • @533kd35tr0y Yes. That's because I can't really play the guitar. I just toy around with it

  • @ekku1979 Been playing guitar for 10 months no lessons, but practice song 3 hrs a day. You're still better than me. ;)

  • nice guitar man

  • great demo dude......ur one of my fav now

  • u look like eg idra sorta

  • If only you where as good looking as the guitar LOL

  • @DeathnoteMr If you're going to troll, be a little more imaginative...

  • what is this guitar?

  • @yamatoff It's the Dave Mustaine signature model VMNT

  • @yamatoff by Dean

  • it´s heavy metal, dude! nice cover btw

  • Good job :-)

  • I've got the same guitar fkn love it!!! Cool video!! thumbs up!!

  • One question: Is it mandatory to do the spider cord??

  • you've go a hetfield hand

  • PALM MUTE

  • nice dean!!!

  • here ill attach a vid where i use it alot... holy wars

  • How's that Dean play?

  • needs a better amp.. too grainy

  • yea I practice my own version of the spider chord and its still takes me 2 tries to get it right

  • BTW man what amp are you using ? sounds killer .

  • @megadethpwnsTallica The amp is only a Roland MicroCube :D

  • @ekku1979 holy shit :D

  • @ekku1979 i have one they fucking rock for being so damn small

  • @ekku1979 good amp choice my friend!

  • its good............but stop using the fucking word "practice" on every video that you make

  • Prefer the jackson headstock over the dean headstock, both fucking rule though

  • waoow i havent noticed ive gotten better with the chord, i mean i see you and i can do that with ease but damm it took a while to get here, and great job

  • slow it down when u practice it. add speed when u feel u can do it faster. worked for me

  • that looks alot like mustaines guitar

  • @Awseomepants47 im not sure if ur joking?? but that's because it's a dave mustaine signature vmnt... even has his name on the headstock

  • @SurvivingTheHorizon beats me i dont pay attention to have the things i say i probably was idk

  • were do you get the vmnt

  • pretty awesome video, I'm still working on it, but kudos to you..

  • ausome stuff man! MEGADETH FTW

  • really easy technique for those saying its hard and good playing aswell

  • Does anyone know the Metallica song that involves the Spider chord please someone tell me,nice playing by the way!

  • @xXkillaguitarXx It's "Ride the Lightning". Some Metallica songs have Dave Mustaine written all over them

  • @ekku1979 because he wrote them hur dur someones a genius

  • @ekku1979

uncredited "Lepper Messiah" from Master of Puppets has spider cord and dave's groove. also "jump in the fire" which has that "moving up and down" typical Dave, like tornado of souls and vortex (play them and you'll see). Also "Phantom lord", "hit the lights", etc.. typical Dave notes like in "high speed dirt", "skin o my teeth" and "disintegrators.,

  • @ekku1979 Well it depends on how you look at it. It oringinally had spider chords in it but they changed it when they recorded the album.

  • @ekku1979 I used to not like Megadeth or Metallica as much but I like them as equal now but its obvious that dave is the better player

  • @ekku1979 he only wrote that riff

  • @1bol1 nooooooooo ? he wrote the spider riff in RTL AND the slide riff thats almost thru the whole song after the beginning of the high pitch notes

  • @ekku1979

i gu3ss almost all of them but they dont use it like dave

  • @ekku1979

yeah, lets give mustaine credit for everything metallica did on their three first albums even tho he just helped with riffs and such and btw mechanix also known by its real name the four horsemen they changed ALOT of because Mustaine cant write for shit

OMG MUSTAINE MADE DEATH MAGNETIC YEAAH

    you make no sense cunt

  • @Marrodamaan Firstly, I'm glad Mustaine didn't make Death Magnetic because it has only one interesting song on it which is "All nightmare long" (which ironically seems to be based on Trujillo's riffs who is a relatively new member of the band). Secondly, why are you raving about this stuff? Dave was in Metallica and he co-wrote some songs and riffs. What's the big deal? Is the world coming to an end if someone likes songs from both Megadeth and Metallica? This fanatic crap has to stop.

  • @Marrodamaan the mechanix is the real name of the song and dave mustaine is an amazing writer so stfu

  • @Marrodamaan

uhm... mechanix was originally called the mechanics in metallica when dave left he took the mechanix and they took the four horsemen...but OK

  • @Marrodamaan wtf Mustaine cant write for shit? you've got to be kidding me!

first of all.. if you're watching a "wake up dead" video you like the song (in theory)

second of all.. "the mechanix" version is Faster, Better, and has way more feel in it

third of all.. you are a fan

  • Respond to this video... do i say heitfield can't write for shit just because i prefer Megadeth to Metallica NO

cause it wouldn't be true.. please stop being a fanboy

  • @xXkillaguitarXx ya it starts around 1:56ish after james says "i can feel the flame"

  • @xXkillaguitarXx i think some in the kill em all album do

  • @xXkillaguitarXx From Kill em all to Master of puppets its mostly mustaine MUSTAINE FTW

  • @redcarolina78 no master of puppets was not dave they ran out of ideas by then

  • this may sound crazy, but a good way to practice the spider chord, guitar hero, im not even joking

  • @hellridermyx It strengthens the fingers lol.

  • @Maxpow33r haha ya, that game made me alot faster and much more accurate

  • Very cool (^^)b

  • I have the same guitar and i can do spider chords aswell :D

  • Not a bad cover man. Keep up the good work!

  • That was awesome!! I cant do the spider chord for shit. :(

  • u r da frst dat i've seen succeed at da spider chord

  • @poisonnetwork Lots of different versions out there. Very few follow the pattern Dave does

  • @poisonnetwork well duh he has a mustaine signature guitar hes a pro

  • hey, how much did the VMNT cost?

  • @vineetreddydamera Nowadays you can get one for 900-1000 Euros

  • @ekku1979

nowadays you can get one for about 700-800 Euros xD

  • @vineetreddydamera in dolars its 300 $ in the us

  • @TheMegamania You can get a VMNTX with 300 $ but not this guitar. Prices range from 769-999 $ if you want a new one with this guitar's specs

  • that was good. sounded fine to me. some people are just stupid, tellin you to slow down. the only way to get better is to speed it up! keep on keepin on.

  • @Hoppus217 Thanks

  • nice job man that technique is hard as shit (especially for me since i do power chords with my pointer and pinky usually)

  • sick guitar bro, i got the same one for my birthday and i couldent be happier!!

  • That's a damn nice guitar. Sometimes I hate being left handed :P

  • @JIMKUltra I'm left handed and i play right handed guitars and basses

  • @JIMKUltra then y dont you teach you self how to play right handed

  • @JIMKUltra then go all jimi hendrix upon that guitar and play it lefty

  • @JIMKUltra Sure you could just flip it and change the strings around xD

  • @JIMKUltra Well just put the strings on backwards like Jimmy :D

  • I can say Well done ! Nice Job .. but obviously you need practice as everyone :D

  • Nice job. Is that a Dave Mustaine sgnature Dean?

  • Use a damn metronome and play slow. You are not pro to play like Megadeth.

  • You are one sick puppy....

  • lol, awesome video dude

  • dont listen to this douche his a hater

  • that is a bad ass guitar.

  • Comment removed

  • can anybody give me the tabs for this part

  • thats not the spider chord

  • Sorry to disappoint you but yes it is.

  • FUCKER yes it is!!!!

  • lol it is the chord of spiders

  • Yeah it is. Look up Dave Mustaine Spider Chord... You can learn it from the man himself

  • @thrashuntilldeath That's definately the spider chord.

  • think you need to work on palm muting but keep rockin

  • Any V other than a jackson is easy to play while standing or sitting. With a jackson, the amp cable will jab in the sid e of the thigh, cuz the jack for it is on the bottom fin.

  • You need to buy a better Jackson then. All the US models and better Japanese ones have the jack on the upper fin.

And Gibson Flying V:s have the jack on the bottom fin as well(not on the side obviously)

  • I never bought a jackson. i got an esp V. and its amazing, i love that thing to death.

  • You have to play it a little differently but once you get used to it, it's just fine

  • dude ur guitar is amazing i want one so bad how much was it?

  • When I bought it the price was around 1000 euros (about 1500 dollars)

  • WOW nice its my dream guitar but i want one with graphics on it from megadeth. thanks for the price to man.

  • theres a entry level for about 300 euros (375 dollars)

  • I love that riff

  • Me too. I could play it for hours...

  • This whole thing only gets easier with time.

Your fingers will eventually adjust themselves to the right positions if you keep practicing

  • not to be an elitist prick or something, but reading here below it seems people have problems with this?

I've never had any problems with the "spider chord", not even in the beginning.

I don't know. maybe there's some other technique I knew before that made it easier.

  • You know that spider chord ain't exacly easy to do.

  • I cant do it easily no shit on 10's and maybe 11's but im using 12's right now so its hard as hell

  • isnt that hard until u get used to it

  • You just have to get use to it then it sticks to ya

  • Does anybody have tabs to this?

  • tabs LMAO cmon man who fuking needs tabs listen to the dam song bro and learn its as its coming know wat i meen?

  • Did I ask you? No. But thanks for wasting your time. :D

  • hows the neck on that, does it feel good where the break is. And how does it feel sitting.

  • The neck is nice and solid and the D-shape feels comfortable. When sitting down the guitar is naturally propped in a more vertical position which makes for an easier left hand postion (at least for me)

  • you gotta feel it more. your right hand technique is machine like. SLow down abit. I,ve been playing guitar since I was 11. I'm 31 now. it takes time.

  • have you ever noticed that the people who leave bad comments never post videos of themselves playing? haha that figures.

i think the guitar sounds really good (but then thats just my opinion)! and its a hard technique. keep playing!

  • Yes, I' ve noticed that =D. I really like the sound of my guitar now. Was worth its price. Thanks for watching!

  • I'm with you.

  • havent u notice 3/4 of the ppl who does leave a video reply suks while they playin lol? i dont need to leave videos to know how good i am i dont need the attention u know i just play and play and play i know im good thats for sure

  • define "good".

  • i meen like someone who do really have the the touch to listenin to a song then like learn it riff by riff without tabs all my chord i learned by listenin and thats wat its really about from my opinion. everyone uses tabs everyone wanna be a rock star but none really do its the ones u dont hear ever bout then they just pop up a real ROCK STAR

  • i'm a pro player and music teacher, and i used to hate tabs. but from my experience tabs are a good thing, because it gives a beginning student something to learn from rather than giving them a recording and saying "figure this out." its a good launching pad. so if you figure everything out by ear, thats cool, but it doesnt make you a better player. theres also dynamics, expression, and everything else. all the details that make someone a highly skilled player. not just playing the notes.

  • You do understand what you are saying now is the same as bragging how you can beat someone and when that person asks you to step outside, you buckle. Also, people who are "good" (as you put it) don't need to post comments like yours. There are a million assholes like you on YouTube, full of hot air. Go blast it somewhere else

  • @cj1982 I notice that people that leave bad comments 99 percent o the time they do not have a single video up. That shows they are obviously jealous cause they cannot put together a video for shit.

  • @cj1982 Exactly. People so quick to be critical but would not open themselves up to the same criticism. D:

  • Great job! Would like to see some updated versions of Iron Man and Paranoid since it has been a few months now. This site is great for keeping record of improvement regardless of any remarks positive or otherwise.

  • Thanks! You're right about this site being good for keeping an archive of one's progress. I've been playing the solos which I've learned via Doctornerve and have been thinking about posting new videos of them. I'm also practicing the solo of Metallica's "Ride the Lightning" but because of a lot of hateful critics I'm going to take some time off from posting new videos. Nice of you to watch my videos though..Much appreciated!

  • you should learn the whole song. You'll get better. Never mind the people leaving shitty comments

  • Nicely done. ]v[egadet]-[ approved.

  • Thanks man! An official seal of approval ;-)

  • Nice VMNT man!

Got the VMNTX over here, nearly the same, only worse, much worse...

  • Thanks!!! It's mostly because of the mics (I think)

  • Could be, but another big problem is that my amp sucks ass, still got the one I bought with my first guitar (y'know, fake stratocaster...). If only I had enough of €€€ to buy myself a nice Diamond amp, hehe

  • Yes, that's true. I just bought myself a 40W Spider Valve 112 (Line6/Bogner) and it makes a difference. Had only a small Microcube before (which was used in this video also)

  • Lucky bastard!

Anyways, I'm hoping to get my hands on a DBZ guitar and that Diamond amp. That would be fucking great!

By the way, is yours a USA?

  • It was ordered from the USA but it was made in Korea :D I don't know if there's any difference

  • Normally there is, especially with Dean import quality is going downhill : /

Mine is a typical "Made in China" hehe

But nothing to complain about so far

  • My guitar is still working (knock on wood) :D

  • haha, would've been a waste of money if it would fall apart, hehe.

It's just because I've read some reviews by people who say some stuff aren't attached correctly, and the sound is total shit.

  • Ignore all of the losing haters. You are on the right track-Keep practicing. The spider chord will do you a lot of good when playing speedy power chords.

  • Thanks for your comment! My rhythm playing techniques are pretty well developed now and mostly because of practicing stuff the way Dave does them. I think he's one of the best rhythm players around

  • Onks toi kitara hyvä? iso se ainaki on. :D

  • Hevimpään musiikkiin on kyllä tosi hyvä ja clean sounditkin on mukavan lämpimiä

  • can you teach me how to do his spider chord i cant figure it out.

  • Well...I think you can figure it out best by watching Dave Mustaine's video on it here on YouTube. I'm not that good of a guitar player yet..(as it has been pointed out by many viewers)

  • i have watched it ovr and over but i cant just have someone tell me somethign and i get it i need it explained to em with great details

  • Basically you just do two-string chords with your index and ring finger and one string lower use your middle and little finger

  • oh that sounds simple enough thanks !

  • no l

  • What a bad practice...

  • And your comment is based on....?

  • how bout you post something your doing on the guitar?

  • Well....I have been posting different stuff I've been doing with the guitar. What do you mean?

  • Those Dean VMNT1's rock!

  • Great playing, how much is that guitar?? im a bass player looking to get into playing guitar.. and Mustaine is one of my idols.

  • Thanks! I got the guitar for a little less than 1000 euros

  • i played it at guitar center and its suprisingly a really good guitar

  • kovaa settiä, megadeth on jumala.
