I love Flying Battery Act 1 for that BASS. Holy shit that bassline is the best thing that has ever been created. The song's amazing, though; it's fun and it kind of makes you feel like you're outside an airship with the wind flying.
But I love this song overall. It's just... darker than Act 1. Like something is going to happen. Or like the Flying Battery is an omen of things to come. Time to get serious, yo'.
Seriously. Why can't all video games have soundtracks that are as good as the Sonic soundtracks? Sure there are other good songs from other games out there, but all of the old school Genesis Sonic games have music that nothing else can compare to.
The BEST sonic song ever! Tops all other sonic tunes! This level was really fun 2 play. Once again that double bass is evident and the guitar is really catchy. Bass guitar wins though! Flying Battery is the best song in the sonic the hedgehog universe!
I actually remember this more as the Knuckles fight music in Sonic Pocket Adventure for the Neo Geo Pocket Colour (I played through that first before I played Sonic & Knuckles altogether)

@poopeyman32 Well I would like to think not just Sonic 3 & Knuckles but Sonic the Hedgehog 2 as well because I like to play through both and see the Death Egg arc story that starts in Sonic 2 (though when I play it on My Wii on VC I don't know why but when I first start it, somehow I always press a button that makes the game restart itself and then I have to play through the whole thing all over again simply because I want plenty of lives for the last Zone and bosses and I like *2bcont.*

@poopeyman32 I think that the Death Egg saga in the Genesis classics is one of the best told silent stories in not just a Sonic game but any video game, because it was the one plot Robotnik (I do the princess Toadstool thing with his name calling him Robotnik in older ones and Eggman in newer one like Mario fans do with Peach's name) had that took Sonic more than one game to finally foil and it's story makes up most of the single non-addon classic Sonic games, and it was *2bcont.*
@poopeyman32 and the Death Egg saga was all told silently with every single character miming the actions from beginning to end without even any text during cutscenes and still managed to have a ton of story that was epic all told via action, in fact the Death Egg saga from the classics is one of My favorite stories in a Sonic game or in a video game for that matter and sorry for the long comment I'll shut up now.

@Gobeldeg00p Well on a semi-unrelated note the first video game I ever played was Sonic 2 however the first part I played was the final boss,you may be saying "how and why did I do that?" well it was a 100% unlocked game at the after school facility I went to and I just happened to see someone play that part and so when I got the chance I played it over and over again,they also had an S.N.E.S. there but it didn't have a lot of the good games it was known for with it sadly.
@Gobeldeg00p Actually all I really played was the final boss(technically bosses,annoying pest robot Sonic get out of my way you are wasting 10 seconds I could spend fighting the real boss) and I never died to him or had a hard time with him,but that Robotnik robot is my favorite boss (the song that plays is also one of my favorite songs) the only one to comes close is the Bouldergiest boss in S.M.G.1 (something about Bouldergeist just reminds me of that robot).

I mean yeah it is Sonic Rush 3 in terms of gameplay but the other Wisp alien powers are fun to use and make for some interesting ways to play, plus Colors DS implements the homing attack in a 2D Sonic game in a much better way than Sonic 4 did, it proves that it can be used in a 2D Sonic game and be used in a fun way.

Actually Tails is great if you play AS Tails. I think in 3 they had the dual format because 2 did. No other reason. Especially since S&K doesn't have it at all.

@AssassinJordi Well that doesn't mean Knuckles probably won't be in future episodes because when they asked about whether Tails or Knuckles would be appearing they did say people would be very pleased with episode 2 so even though Knuckles isn't in the first part of the game that little tidbit they said means he still could be in Sonic 4 just in a later episode so maybe he'll still be in Sonic 4 as a whole just not in the first episode.

Well I don't know how a song from the third Sonic game reminds you of the second Sonic game and of course theres the fact that it wasn't Metal Sonic in that game but rather Silver Sonic (well I know he doesn't really have a name but his American name is the only name he has so I don't know what else to call him) anyways I do agree though, when I was a kid the final boss of Sonic 2 was tough along with that Sonic robot, couldn't beat the game with any character might be able to *2bcont.*
might be able to now that I'm older but I won't settle for anything less than having all seven Chaos Emeralds and the good ending but Tails screws Me up in the special stages but it just wouldn't have the same feel if he wasn't struggling to keep up with Sonic like he does in the classics like that game. its actually a real shame as I can get all six in Sonic 1 more easily than the seven in Sonic 2.

Actually Tails is great if you play AS Tails. I think in 3 they had the dual format because 2 did. No other reason. Especially since S&K doesn't have it at all.

I remember this act.....I always somehow timed the part at 0:27 for when I was on one of the spiraling elevators.....I then sat there thinking "Holy sh*t, this music is amazing!"
Thank god I still have a Sega. I think I'll be playing this over the summer......beats the new games coming out anyways.

I'm going to guess that the other character in Sonic 4 will be Knuckles.

@AssassinJordi Well that doesn't mean Knuckles probably won't be in future episodes because when they asked about whether Tails or Knuckles would be appearing they did say people would be very pleased with episode 2 so even though Knuckles isn't in the first part of the game that little tidbit they said means he still could be in Sonic 4 just in a later episode so maybe he'll still be in Sonic 4 as a whole just not in the first episode.

okay.......... Sonic & Knuckles BOTH used to be fat ESPECIALLY Knuckles. And Before Tails made his game debut, when he was on da comics first, he used to look like he had Down Syndrome or some shit. And Amy........ hell idk. But lets not even get on Robotnik before he became Eggman LMAO!!!!! They all look good now though. Sonic & Knuckles all thinner and a lil lean. Tails actually DOES look intelligent. Amys ok. And EGGMAN is....... well...... Egg shaped /:-l

You can't let an idea that made a game as amazing as S&K die, and if the people who made S&K can't make anything good now, they're has beens.
SOMEBODY needs to make something good with sonic in it, and if SEGA can't think of anything good, they should sell sonic to somebody else.

Well I don't know how a song from the third Sonic game reminds you of the second Sonic game and of course theres the fact that it wasn't Metal Sonic in that game but rather Silver Sonic (well I know he doesn't really have a name but his American name is the only name he has so I don't know what else to call him) anyways I do agree though, when I was a kid the final boss of Sonic 2 was tough along with that Sonic robot, couldn't beat the game with any character might be able to *2bcont.*

might be able to now that I'm older but I won't settle for anything less than having all seven Chaos Emeralds and the good ending but Tails screws Me up in the special stages but it just wouldn't have the same feel if he wasn't struggling to keep up with Sonic like he does in the classics like that game. its actually a real shame as I can get all six in Sonic 1 more easily than the seven in Sonic 2.
