@macchef01 You have no idea what the circumstances were. Kids tell their parents they're going to a friends house to spend the night and actually go to a party, all the time. The mother could have been working at the time that police came. A 15 year old is not an infant, they're old enough to drive in some states, and by that age should be responsible enough to give house keys too, and she may have even had keys, but police will not leave a child at an empty house regardless.
