The Doors are still the Doors no matter what and even if there are only two of them left who want to play the music it still sounds like the original and it is even more amazing that it is still so cool after four decades..Long Live The Doors
He's not taking his look. He just happens to resemble him that's all - but not as coy and flakey. Ian chose to sing those tunes like Morisson did because that's what fits with the band. His act was well developed before he knew he'd be fronting the doors. He's still doing it his way - But if he does copy anything - you know what they say: "It's not taking. It's giving back."
It´s a great oportunity to see great musicians together. He is not trying to copy jim. There is one jim. one hendrix and one janis and so on. ian is doing a tribute. If you like good music, enjoy it. No need to compare.
I love The Cult and Ian Astbury but Ian is not only copying Jim but shamelessly ripping Jim's style and his look. C'mon you sound like an apologist for him. He sounds like him and that should have ended there taking his look, fuck makes me feel bad for him!
For those who are too young to know. ian is a great singer and he was the singer of a band from the early eighties called the cult. Everybody who knows a little bit about the doors knows about jim `s passion for native americans. Ian is english and he loves jim and the native americans too.

I know. The band is one. Without Jim there is no Doors. Without The Doors there is not Jim. This is riders on the storm. Theyre still good musicians.
