I sold my new shelby GT 500 KR because besides the fact that it was in the shop 99% of the time I had it (the 1% left over was spent driving BACK to dealer for something else that went wrong), I got beat by a stock 6 speed 1998 Z-28 and a beefed up civic.
fords look nice yes, they run nice at first...but not even ten years down the road they crap out to the point that you cant fix them, ive got a 99 mercury cougar (mercurys owned by ford) and its been in the shop almost every month this year and now ive got to sell it

The markey has switched to smaller cars, more fuel efficient. Ford, chevy and chrysler are having a hard time swithching to small cars. The costumer is not use to see small cars from the big three for the most parts. This is why they are struggling.

not true, firstly the new mustang will be much cheaper and will have very close performance to the Camaro because of its new v6 turbo charged engine + the mustang has a solid rear axle which means better acceleration on the straits

Actually you are, if you would take the time to go to the ford website and look at the Mustang page there is a photo of the mustang's rear suspension and you can clearly see control arms and coil sprigs on a live axle with a panhard bar to keep it from swaying side to side. The Mustang has used this suspension for quite some time, with the exception of the 03-04 Cobra which had IRS. But I can't remember if the Cobra-R had IRS.
Also I was mistaken above, all 1999-2004 Mustang Cobras had Independent Rear Suspension. All of the other models including today's Mustangs have trailing/control arm suspension with coil springs and a panhard bar this is also called a 3-link suspension. The 64 1/2-73 had leaf springs and I think the Mustang II did as well but from the Fox body on is the 3-link as mentioned above for the GT and base Mustangs. The current GT500 even has the 3-link suspension.

Well, the New Mustang looks pretty good. I like the front end and the rear, not sure yet... However, the changes are pretty minor so far. Nothing drastic like I was hoping for. But the interior looks far better. I just wish they'd work on a new engine. With that same 4.6L V8 pumping out 315 hp, it's going to get romped against the new Camaro! I love Mustangs, but Ford needs to make a new engine. They've had the same engine since 1995. I mean come on!!! Changing it from 2V to 3V ain't enough!!!
I think the 2010 Mustang is complete genius, it's great to see Ford, Chevy and Chrysler release new products. I doubt they're going to go bankrupt, they've asked the Government for money and both Toyota and Honda are supporting their cause. I can't wait to see the new Shely Mustang and Carols still running strong.
Well the 2010 R8 isnt going to be anything super cool. The only car right now i am looking forward to seeing is really going to be the Porsche 911 GT3 which is going to the GT3 races. Also the Porsche 9ff(i think thats it) which is supposed to place a new record for fastest car. The mustang isnt really anything different. Hopefully they worked up a few more horses out of the engine or even some more liters. But time will tell all i guess.
not my thing. They put some horrid ass wheels on em too. It loos verry slabby now, the sides look quite flat and featureless. They did some nice mods of the old version though so maybe tuners or Carol will make a version that looks a bit more interesting. Shoot the mustang and bring something brand new out that has no comparisons as the 60's versions of the mustang make any new version look like crap.

Ever since the Fox-body came out in the late 70's Mustangs use a live rear axle with control arms and coil springs.

Actually you are, if you would take the time to go to the ford website and look at the Mustang page there is a photo of the mustang's rear suspension and you can clearly see control arms and coil sprigs on a live axle with a panhard bar to keep it from swaying side to side. The Mustang has used this suspension for quite some time, with the exception of the 03-04 Cobra which had IRS. But I can't remember if the Cobra-R had IRS.

Also I was mistaken above, all 1999-2004 Mustang Cobras had Independent Rear Suspension. All of the other models including today's Mustangs have trailing/control arm suspension with coil springs and a panhard bar this is also called a 3-link suspension. The 64 1/2-73 had leaf springs and I think the Mustang II did as well but from the Fox body on is the 3-link as mentioned above for the GT and base Mustangs. The current GT500 even has the 3-link suspension.

that new Mustang kicks ass. but are they gonna change the rear axle from live to independent? and give the car a new engine? like put the current 5.4L into the new GT and put a brand new 6liter somthin in the GT500

meh. i dont really like the new mustang. i think the 05-09 did a better job of recreating a modern classic. also, the new back end makes it look too importy.
i definitely wont be picking one of those mustangs up, not that they are ugly, just that the other models loooked better.

Well, the New Mustang looks pretty good. I like the front end and the rear, not sure yet... However, the changes are pretty minor so far. Nothing drastic like I was hoping for. But the interior looks far better. I just wish they'd work on a new engine. With that same 4.6L V8 pumping out 315 hp, it's going to get romped against the new Camaro! I love Mustangs, but Ford needs to make a new engine. They've had the same engine since 1995. I mean come on!!! Changing it from 2V to 3V ain't enough!!!

I think the 2010 Mustang is complete genius, it's great to see Ford, Chevy and Chrysler release new products. I doubt they're going to go bankrupt, they've asked the Government for money and both Toyota and Honda are supporting their cause. I can't wait to see the new Shely Mustang and Carols still running strong.

Well the 2010 R8 isnt going to be anything super cool. The only car right now i am looking forward to seeing is really going to be the Porsche 911 GT3 which is going to the GT3 races. Also the Porsche 9ff(i think thats it) which is supposed to place a new record for fastest car. The mustang isnt really anything different. Hopefully they worked up a few more horses out of the engine or even some more liters. But time will tell all i guess.

not my thing. They put some horrid ass wheels on em too. It loos verry slabby now, the sides look quite flat and featureless. They did some nice mods of the old version though so maybe tuners or Carol will make a version that looks a bit more interesting. Shoot the mustang and bring something brand new out that has no comparisons as the 60's versions of the mustang make any new version look like crap.
I wonder if they dumped the leaf springs this time around.

Mustangs haven't used leaf springs since the 70's. Ever since the Fox-Body they have used a solid axle with control arm suspension and coil springs.
