Thank you for the effort of translating this beautiful song. Although I acknowledge that in many cases it is difficult to find the exact translation, I just felt that in some parts, the translation could have been a bit more accurate. Beautiful images made in the lyrics are lost otherwise. I think they were worth preserving, even if these required some explanations afterwards.
Damn! This song brings a chill to my spine! Mom used to go through this penance. Too bad, she was too beautiful but Mr Hombre had to find something less instead. Love my dad, but the truth can't be denied. Now I am a bit like him, but in a different way and for much more different reasons. (not looks, just feelings and lost of hoping for better, she just won't let me go). Magnifica cancion, letra, rytmo, musica,y voz!
Thank you, I cry today as mothers day approaches because even though my mom is still alive, I used to hear her cry listening this song during her private time. You made my day, with this song. Luckily for me I did not followed my dad's path in that department. Love my wife and kids to death.
@Nanotech233 Thanks for sharing your feelings; your family is lucky to have you. The songs that make me cry are Mocedades' "Mi Padre" (my father died when I was 24) and John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" (now that I'm a father myself).
This lady has the most beautifully-nuanced tone of voice I have ever listened to. She pitches nearly every note in a different tone, always sweet but different. What makes her unique is the spread of the tone. For instance, from 1.29 - 1.51, that's probably her very best, (don't miss 'quito' and 'nido'). Fabulous.
Of course the melody and orchestration are also wonderful.
I also love this song & group since cildhood. I appreciate your translated version, although there's nothing like the real thing (literal translation), but it conveys the message. Good job. God bless el español!
I loved it. Beautiful translation. Funny part with Clinton. Although, I prefer the word picture of a more literal translation of the the phrase "tu ropa huele lena de otro hogar" (Your clothing smells like the wood from another woman's fireplace) but granted it would be difficult to translate directly and keep the lyrical rhythm as you have done.
Thanks for this wonder. I like your work. You adore our spanish musical espirit and we adore your country and english people.

Respond to this video... I love this song too, most of the songs of Mocedades have a deep message:Dime Señor(Tell me Lord),Pange lingua,Solo era un niño(He was only a child)...One of the members of this band was my neighbour when I was a child. From Bilbao in the Basque Country.

Heh heh, yeah, I thought that pic was perfect for that line in the song. She's probably mad because she knows that dumping Bill could affect her presidential bid. "Hell hath no fury..."
Maravillosa cancion, dice lo que muchas veces no queremos decir u oir. Pero dice la verdad.

Nice work.
Keeping with a more literal translation:
"...smells like the wood from another home..."
"You admire me 'cause I keep quiet and look the heaven.. (or sky)"
Anyway, thanks for share. I'm another fanatic of this group since I was a child.
Me (ow).

wow. Very good translation. You keep the rhime and (the lirics) sounds melodic, at the same time, almost translated word by word. Good job !!
Muy buena traduccion, se mantiene la rima y la melodia y la misma vez la traduccion es casi palabra por palabra. buen trabajo!!
