Revenge is the only word, 'that' does not stand in military terms, as a military action, therefore; when a military unit commits revenge, there 'is' no honor. Revenge is the only word you could put on this stupidity of killing old women, men and children. What honor is there in such an action? Therefore, rescind the Medals of Honor for the Wounded Knee Massacre (battle, in military terms).
Read the epic novel "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon Int., the story of the revenge and redemption.
I may be a good Catholic and a strong believer in God, but man you cannot do that to a young man who's able to make his own choices. It's pretty clear that he doesn't want to convert.
If I had the power... I would fight both the American and Canadian governments to reclaim our lands. They were not meant for this purpose. I would have loved to live the life of our ancestors.
i am white but i have little Native Americans in me but i hate how the white people cant deal with people who r different like the Native Americans ,irish ,and german people, and blacks 2.
14 years after the Little Big Horn, the 7th Cavalry was entrapped in a box canyon, and if it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry, there would have been a second massacre of the 7th Cav.
The Buffalo Soldiers, 9th Cavalry was rewarded with Presidential Parade Escort and Guard Duties for accomplishments, furthermore; the 9th Cav. received as many citations as most of the white cavs.
Read the epic novel, "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
Wow THIS show is brainwashing people...... The world belongs to the white man, excuse me, selllout..... and hands over a CROSS, PROPAGANDA..... FUCK YOU PEOPLE ARE SICK....
This whole movie is very powerful. It really opened up my eyes about what happened back then. I visited the Black Hills and it is nice. I think the truth is that there is plenty all the way around to forgive, but we should not have stolen that from the Lakota.
I think one of the most touching scenes in this movie was when Charles father (at 2:40) is singing "Jesus lover of my soul" and then switches over to his native song. Very powerful.
Actually I have been reliably informed that DNA evidence has shown the Indians came from Mongolia and Siberia. The whole thing is a tragedy. We must work together and build a better tomorrow based on mutual love and respect.
The truth is all races have done evil. We were awful to the Indians, but some of what they did to each other and to settlers wasn't always so nice either. My heart is sad when I think of how we made treaty after treaty with the Indians and then broke them ... kind of like what we said the Russians did with us all during the Cold War.
ask the soldiers canadian or european what was in the blankets that they gave to the natives alot would die from european dieases spread by the blankets
The 7th Cavalry was entrapped the day after the Wounded Knee Massacre. The 9th Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers rescued the 7th Cavalry.
Read the novel, Rescue at Pine ridge, the story of the rescue of the famed 7th Cavalry by the Buffalo Soldiers, and visit website; rescue at pine ridge. com. The novel embodies Native Americans, Outlaws and Buffalo Soldiers, in the days of the Native American Wars with the approach USA. Story is about, brutality, compassion, reprisal, bravery, heroism and gallantry.
Canadian history is completely different than America's when it comes to Natives.
Canada didn't really war with us Natives at all, instead they experimented on how to kill us without actually killing us, it was more psychological with Canada. Still, while all this was going on they sent us to the shittiest places to live and kept stealing our children while the Indian Act said everything we did was forbidden. Over 50,000 died in their "care" and the schools only ended in the 1980's.

I am sorry with all due respect, this story must have been written by a white man. Where is our language, our spirit in this story. Even Kevin Costner made a thoughtful attempt to capture our realities in "Dances with Wolves."
Again, I do not mean to cause anyone to feel badly, I am simply saying it is not difficult to tell that this was not written by an Indian.
Its funny how christians are supposed to be such good people. Yet they do this. I live in a christian household, and im only about 35% native. But i see right thru it all. And how people that are supposed to be so good, are so bad.
i hold my head up because i know my native pride will never... my ancesters were fighting for our culture so we need not forget natives from coastels to plains
White man is not my fav s=man but i also respect them i will be sad for life until we get our land n pride bac i life is no more pride jesus it not a god he is a nother man Creator is my hero Crazy Horse N Sitting Bole For life n little big horn I love how he speaks my language
It'll be difficult to get your land back though I've heard that the Lakotah have declared independance for their land.
But you must be proud. Native Americans are considered as 1 of the most beautiful people on earth after the Tibetan buddhists. Also, because they both knew how to live in relative peace and harmony with the lands compared to other cultures they are more and more praised for their wisdom which can be an answer for todays greed, wars, treatment of animals and pollution. Peace.
@arafel1964 Ok, no offense but are you sure that this is true? I mean as far as I know Native American's have degraded land and exterminated species as well. So are you sure you are not mistaking virtue with lack of opportunity, so to say?
@inotaishu1 ; Native Americans in those days never polluted the lands, killed whole species like the buffalos or wolves or harvested all plants empty because they needed to live and thus take care for it. They believed that everything should be in balance. That does not mean there were no infights. Give me links to what you claim, please
@arafel1964 Well there would be the North American Overkill theory, either human presence was pure coincidence at that time or there were a defining factor in the mass extinction.
As for a more recent example, Jared Diamond mentioned the Anasazi in his book collapse as an example of a culture dissapearing due to people overusing their lands. If I remember correctly it was due to deforestation. But I can check if you want to, that would be no problem.
Young brother you can't "get your land back" because our people never felt that we could own the land. The white man brought the concept of land ownership to the peoples.
There is no romance but sickness from the sluty white woman. That poor Native man, in order to live on his land he had to follow the TOHBI'S law and way of life.
Ohiyesa was not at Wounded Knee when it went down. Hollywood producers still take liberty with the true history of this country pertaining to accurate historical records. They still tell us what they want us to hear. They are still Wasichu, takers of fat.
