I bought the SolidWorks 2011 book which covers beginner to advanced topics, and is very comprehensive. I often use the book as a reference to go through.

The video editing software that runs inside of solid works doesnt always come with solid works. So if you dont have it youll need to get it to do videos. Other than that just monkey around with it until you figure it out. Its what I did!
Obviously depends on what program you're using to assemble. Currently almost all new programs have both. A "workshop" to design the parts and then a "workshop" to assemble and test their interaction together.
I believe you can interchange drawings between SOME programs. In other words you create something in solid works and assemble it in pro engineer or inventor and vice versa. Some programs do run others files but most dont (yet).

mastercam software for cnc can run solidworks files so thats nice. you can design alot better in solidworks than in mastercam so its quite useful

All so need two prototype of the CH-53E it has more the name for it like 3-D printing

Buy a plastics model (Toy)
Measure it and draw it in SWX.
Make an IGES out of it.
Find a company with 5-Axis-milling-machine.
Let it be made out of wood or something like that.
Pull thin plastics over it while heating it up.
Thats it!
