Are you sure the theme is called 'We Can Go Dutch'? I'm trying to find it on itunes and I can't find it. I've sound Sun/Jin Shannon/Sayid and Claire/Charlie/Kate's themes.
I actually wish Giacchino had gone with a louder, more uplifting and triumphant variation of "La Fleur" from season 5. It is their love theme, after all, and I think it sounds better. This theme, until now, had really only belonged to Juliet.
@jmeyer2039 I see your point. I guess he could have but i think its agreed that Oceans Apart aka Juliet's theme is so much more powerful of a theme - its so epic and sweeping. Listening to how that would sound in my head doesn't compare to this I don't think. Still its a good point to make - would have been great to hear it one last time.
@Moollii Certainly, just copying and pasting La Fleur exactly as it is in the S5 soundtrack would have been highly inappropriate. In that case, you're right. But I'm saying that he could have made La Fleur into just as powerful and sweeping a theme. In that case, I think it would have sounded better. Still, this is a fine piece. Just not one of my favorites.
@jmeyer2039 Fair enough and yes I agree that a more bigger orchestration of lafleur would have worked nicely. But i guess juliet's theme was used to really highlight how sawyer was being reunited with JULIET as were the audience. As her theme had played in the scene where she fell, where she died and where he said he would marry her - it feels right that we see it really from his perspective on things.
@Moollii Yeah, La Fleur not being congruent with the mirrored scene's theme also crossed my mind. Perhaps he made the better choice. He is the musical genius, after all. :) Maybe I was just hoping for more La Fleur somewhere in the finale since it's such a pretty theme. I also think EITHER theme, if done right (in an epic, sweeping way) could go well being blended with the theme from "There's No Place Like Home" as per Locke's awakening scene with said theme + Locke's theme.
Isn't this Oceans Apart, though.
