I've said it before. As tough as Margarito is, it's better for him to avoid southpaws; especially crafty ones like Santos. Not everybody can beat a southpaw, only technicians like Barrera, Marquez, Morales (he was a technician when he wanted to), and Finito Lopez.

I think most people thought Margarito won that fight, even some reporters thought Margarito should have won. Margarito lost a split decision I believe. Margarito had to move up in weight, and didn't even gain that much wiehg tin the night of the fight. Santos was a lightheavyweight in the night of the fight.

Woh, see it was your mistake, coming into the fight Santos was weighing around 175, Margarito didn't even reach 160, Margarito doesn't gain that much weight in the day of the fight, he is a perfect welterweight, and plus, a whole lot of people thought he beat Santos anyway, I'm sure that one of the reasons that loss wasn't a huge set back for Margarito.

of coure the first fight was in 2001 it was stop in the 1 round because of a accidental head butt the secound fight in 2004 SANTOS beat margarito and made him bleed bad to the point that the fight had to stop how crazy that fight was on the undercard of cotto vs pintor what the hell did mexican think cotto the only champion we had. if mexicans are legends in boxing puertorican are god's.bert suger was right but cotto is young and he will come back believe it!

I agree, Margarito is a great boxer when he fights short boxers. But when he fights someone tall like him he doesn`t look that great(Daniel Santos/Paul Williams)and if he goes up one more division he`s going to be in trouble. Cotto did a great fight but he runs out of gas. If Cotto can improves he`s stamina he can beat Margarito. How about Trinidad Vs Margarito if Tito can lose some pounds???
