@Nivvorendinggeordie Thats how I came on I remembered her putting a seed in a pot in a weird tree, it was a bit disturbing, nearly 20years later I'm a bit challenged
Didn't this series have one, Christopher Lillicrap in it? Surprising how we all took these programmes for granted, and thought they'd always be there. I feel sorry for today's kids, who don't have any such programmes, (at least, of this kind of quality), to watch in the afternoons when coming home from school, anymore.
My God, I remember this being on when I was really little.
I used to get home from Nursery School every dinnertime and have cheese, crackers, pineapple, apple, banana and orange for dinner and on telly would be lunchtime kids favorites Allsorts, Puddle Lane or Rainbow.
Such a shame that this had to stop to make way for Loose Women.
I remember it mate. Yes, it was on during a lunchtime. I remember coming home from primary school for my lunch and sitting down to watch it. No one else I know seems to remember it, either.
@britgirl19 - you're right it was screened on Wednesdays, I remember that coz me and my sister used to go home at lunchtime every Wednesday for lunch as our aunt (who brought us up) didn't work on Wednesdays. I wsn't a huge fan of Allsorts TBH, although I loved the original theme tune and opening titles!
I like the way it almost goes into a "Paint the whole world with a Rainbow" at the end, but they save themselves from any copyright issues by throwing in a bVImaj / V7 chord sequence to make it sound different. Genius!

Simple yet effective. Though probably not politically correct these days, as it might offend tramps or something.

A much forgotten classic.
The end bit of the music (from 0:26) is very similar to the 'Rainbow' Theme tune. The bit that goes... "Paint The Whole World With A Rainbow".
