  • Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't boiling vegetables leave all the nutrients in the boiling water? *honestly curious* I like to micro-steam them, I find they stay more crunchy fresh that way too. I love your kitty, she's so adorable : )

  • Wow! That is a bunch of great ideas! Frozen watermelon! Never had pomagrante seed... and never thought about freezing bananas! I don't think frozen items are considered raw... it kills the nutrients.

  • I'm not sure if they're raw or not, but they're definitely still clean and yummy.

  • OMG! Freezing pomegranate seeds...why didn't i think of that! I eat them daily, yet have only thought to freeze yogurt, berries, grapes, pineapple, etc...

  • It's so helpful to see what you are really eating...keeping in fridge. I guess the only thing that would help would be more information on what would be a good serving size of these items.

  • That's a fair point, but really when you're eating raw, serving sizes are nearly irrelavent - at least with fruit and veggies :D

    The point of the chart is not about servings per day or tracking - it's about how foods should be entered into the stomach and which ones should never touch each other in the stomach :)

  • Ah and the link in the sidebar to that chart includes a list of transit times as well - meaning how long the different kinds of foods stay in your stomach, so you can make sure to eat them diligently :)

  • What is the down side of combining these foods? If someone does not have digestive issues does it matter and why?

  • When miscombining food, you slow down and hinder digestion and nutrient absorption... so ideally you only let matching foods or same foods combine in the stomach.

  • I know about the food, mine mine mine, someone else's food. lol, i live my family to cut down on costs so 4 other people's food. No one else in my family in on (though they should be) a diet.

That's kinda how I feel about my fridge... this is mine, this good thing is mine, these veggies and fruits are mine... and this crap over here, that's my husband's. :) I love the Trader Joe's soups too, but we don't have a TJ's here in OK. I make do with the Pacific Foods organic soups - they're ALMOST as good.

  • Yeah, I rarely use the microwave... sometimes to heat up beans, and occasionally for the frozen pizzas, but almost never except to heat up water for tea :P

  • How often to you let yourself "miscombine" a meal? I'm trying to follow food combining but I find that a lot of my favorite foods (like pizza) are bad combinations. Are you really strict with it?

  • I miscombine every day. When I'm going strong and doing 80% raw or more, I miscombined maybe once or twice a week, max... only if I had to. By January I will be back in that place :D

  • Yes, please tell us where you got the chart. I'm sure with a little research online I could find it and print it out but I think you should talk a little bit more about the idea behind the mixing of the foods. That's an interesting idea that I've never heard before.
