@hukkelipukkeli i think because the defending dude is going to step back while blocking, just like in a sparring match instead of blocking you could just step back your front leg making you farther away like making your opponent kick on your safe distance... sorry for bad english i dont really know how to explain it either...
the only difference between degrees is the experience and knowladge.. so dont pretend black belt is a super human
