Still loved & useful with wisdom, life experience , grandchildren, charities, etc. Douglas when diagnosed was working on a film, regardless of a Oscar performance, but who knows? Hes done it before. Many actors have winning performances well into there 80's .

Smoking kills more people than any disease in the world. With all the info available, why do people smoke? B/C they can't stop. Nicotine is highly addictive & makes people feel energized, alert. Smokers get a rush after a cigarette, giving up produces withdrawals, difficulty sleeping, & cravings.!

All you have to do is watch Michael Douglas, probably the most underrated actor of the last 30 yrs. You will be amazed at this man's talent. Douglas deservedly won an Oscar for his portrayal of the ruthless, chain-smoking capitalist guru, Gordon Gekko. He has had a tough time with cancer. Doubt Michael has a clue what it is like to be whacked big time till this. I am still a fan & wish him continued recovery from his battle.

Kirk Douglas was a good actor during his golden years, but was more a movie star, Karl Malden was one of the most underrated actors ever, he was in the same league as Brando, Clift or Newman.
