Never has anything greater than 50 MB made me cry for a wild child like Gau, or hate someone so much like Kefka. Even the laughter and guilt that came with a few scenes... there is no comparison. Even though, Final Fantasy now has characters and places that look realer than life itself, there will never be the experience I've experience with this game. Just finished FF6, and this has gotta be the best boss battle, though I leveled up a bit too much. Even then though this fight wasn't easy, would've died at the very last part if I didn't cast reraise on Sabin.
The music in this game is otherworldly. I don't usually like the idea of remaking great things, but I'd love to see a remake of this just so I could hear the whole soundtrack done with a real orchestra.
From what I understood, the guides said Kefka was seriously physically beaten by the headmaster at the orphanage he was in, his parents died in some war. He went in to military, dealing with magic made him crazy over time, he started wearing ABUNDANCE of make up and dressing like a clown.
He looked like an Angel because he took the powers of the Three Gods and absorbed it into his own form, thus he became a God, not an angel, but the God had an angel appearance. Does this Help?

@spradlin11 i found gogo on my own. i didn't use a walkthrough for the game until i played it again. i probably was lucky. i assumed that when i got sucked into the worm it was all over and didn't wait around. then one time i did and whoah there's something in there.
i try to keep all of my team underleveled so i get that challenge and feel better when i win. like when i fought kefka i put my weak as the first the face him and strong at the end and when he got there still almost beat them i won with celes the only one alive. was a fun battle and felt awesum haha nerdy yeah but tired of beasting with high levels
Good recording...just not so fun to watch if you want to re-live an epic battle, I would have dragged it out a little more..hell u didnt even let him use his coolest attack. But don't stop making vids of the old classics ^^!
I never found Kefka easy. The only thing that makes him easy is the fact that people decide to abuse things (i.e overpowering their magic, spamming ultima, grinding level...) I mean Kefka is easy with those things, but without them... it's a fair enough challenge.
what really hurts is the fact that kefka's goner isnt a ignore defense attack. if it were it would do damage at least 4000 hp and in some cases up to 5000 hp.
Great ending. like in all Final Fantasy titles until X, it's a shame that not in all endings they show a sequence of what happens after during the credits, that makes more enjoyable the ending music.
I get tired of people trying to compare sephiroth to kefka. Sephiroth was just a tool a puppet of Jenova. He wasn't doing his will but Jenova's will. Sephiroth was weak as well. The power he had and was displaying in FF7 was from Jenova not his own. The real sephiroth got owned by Cloud at the end of FF7 by Omnislash. Most people "don't realize that" because it's wrong. It's stated directly in the game that Sephiroth "was not content to be a mere puppet," & Word of God has it that Sephiroth didn't display his full power at the end of the game.
Not only that, the power Kefka had in FFVI was all absorbed from Espers and the Warring Triad.
And how is Kefka beaten? People love to say "he was God," but they conveniently ignore that he still lost to a ragtag resistance movement.
Kefka, really is a tragic villain. From being abandoned at birth, abused by the orphanage head, driven insane by the Magitek infusion, to his eventual demise. He still is one of my favorite Final Fantasy characters.
FF6 is my favorite FF game followed by Tactics, FF8, and FF7. These games are meant to be played without using strategy guides. That's what makes them really fun.
I pity all of those fanboys who need strategy guides and cheats to beat these games. They don't even realize they've never played a FF game.
@PlatinumGeist the great thing about playing through this game without a strategy guide is having no idea what hell is going to happen halfway through the game. i was so shocked. the second half of the game depresses the hell out of me. the overworld music before you regain the airship, church like bells and music so depressing. i experienced something similar in ff9 when the girl lost her kingdom and everything was ruined. not knowing who the final boss was until halfway through was cool.
7 was the best. 8 had many flaws, it was a good story but there were many flaws to it's different systems such as the magic and the construction of the weapons.
And I say that 7 was the best, while 6 was pretty good, but ridiculously overhyped.

It's weird....how people always compare Kefka to Sephiroth.....
If you want my honest opinion, Kefka got it "easy".
Sure. Kefka was able to become a god and nearly destroy the world. But the thing is Sephiroth had to do a more complicated way for him to become a god.
For example: Kefka absorbed the gods that were in a stone-state (probably not the best decision they made...) and then nearly destroyed the world.
While in order for Sephiroth to become a god he would have to already DESTROY the world completely and THEN absorb the energy to become a god or god-like.
Basically Sepiroth's procedure was opposite of Kefka's...
To put it in a simpler manner:
Kefka: Become God, then destroy world.
Sephiroth: Destroy world, then become God.
So yeah....Kefka got the luck of the draw if you ask me...
Wrong about Sephiroth; well kinda in a way... he didnt have to destroy the world to become a god. He just wanted brong 'Meteor' to surface of Earth and wanted to use it to tear a big cut on Earth so the life-stream can 'Cleanse' it. From there he would join with the life-stream and well the rest is self-explanatory. But I 100% agree that Kefka had it Easy if not the easiest from the 8-bit/16-bit Era

i hated how powerful ultima was on a single target. they should fixed that so it wouldnt have made most of the bosses so easy to beat. well on my ff6 rom kefka is far more tougher and has alot more hp with some added new spells. even at lvl 99 its still possible for kefka to beat you.
Nah, Final Fantasy 7 isn't overrated, I just don't think square let it die. They made the movie, and made the psp game, both which don't compliment the game at all imo. The movie had great CG, but the story = halfbaked.

I agree with SpawnMoreOverlords, and would like to add that the pre-last parts are similar, too - Kefka as Jesus (that figure is Mother Maria, then) vs Sephiroth united with his alien mommy (Bizarro Sephiroth). So, Sephiroth's last battle is almost a clone of that of Kefka's.
If I remember you could use ragnerok on the bronsosauraus like monsters on the triangle island and you had a chance to turn them into a gem box or economizer which could be used in the arena to be turned into a gem box. Don't quote me on it. It's been years since I played but I think that's the way.
P.S. Sephiroth was a mommas boy bitch. Kefka was the most bad ass villain of any FF antagonists. He was fuckin psycho and he didn't give a fuck about nothing, not even his momma. Respect that.
This game will always be the most beautiful of the Sqaure Soft children. As far as I'm concerned, after this installment every other game of the francise went fucking totally weak. FF7 was good, but nothing in comparison. FF8 can eat my asshole, and as far as any from there I stopped playing, I witnessed, but refused to play them. If you feel me, I'm glad to have some original fans... If not, posers be damned.

Yeah from 8 and 10 onwards series has become to happy, no world map, usable ariships, dark etc, 13 looks just like 10 :(.
Versus 13 looks good because it's trying to go back to old school ff roots but uses a different fighting system. 13Versus world looks like a cross between 6 and 7 and the real world.

They didn't go to shit, they just changed, get over that. I liked 8 and 9 and I'm fairly sure I'd like 10 and 12, because they're still head and shoulders above any other aborted attempt at an RPG.
I could have sworn that Sephiroth also turned the sky red,from a giant meteor he was going to use to rid the world of everithing but himself then absorving the power of Gaia to become more powerfull so yeah,yawn.

If you had equipped Sabin with Offering and Genji Glove, with Dragon claw and Tiger fang, you'd have been able to deal more damage, I think, with 8 attacks.

It's weird....how people always compare Kefka to Sephiroth.....
If you want my honest opinion, Kefka got it "easy".
Sure. Kefka was able to become a god and nearly destroy the world. But the thing is Sephiroth had to do a more complicated way for him to become a god.
For example: Kefka absorbed the gods that were in a stone-state (probably not the best decision they made...) and then nearly destroyed the world.

While in order for Sephiroth to become a god he would have to already DESTROY the world completely and THEN absorb the energy to become a god or god-like.
Basically Sepiroth's procedure was opposite of Kefka's...
To put it in a simpler manner:
Kefka: Become God, then destroy world.
Sephiroth: Destroy world, then become God.
So yeah....Kefka got the luck of the draw if you ask me...

Wrong about Sephiroth; well kinda in a way... he didnt have to destroy the world to become a god. He just wanted brong 'Meteor' to surface of Earth and wanted to use it to tear a big cut on Earth so the life-stream can 'Cleanse' it. From there he would join with the life-stream and well the rest is self-explanatory. But I 100% agree that Kefka had it Easy if not the easiest from the 8-bit/16-bit Era

i hated how powerful ultima was on a single target. they should fixed that so it wouldnt have made most of the bosses so easy to beat. well on my ff6 rom kefka is far more tougher and has alot more hp with some added new spells. even at lvl 99 its still possible for kefka to beat you.

Nah, Final Fantasy 7 isn't overrated, I just don't think square let it die. They made the movie, and made the psp game, both which don't compliment the game at all imo. The movie had great CG, but the story = halfbaked.

I agree with SpawnMoreOverlords, and would like to add that the pre-last parts are similar, too - Kefka as Jesus (that figure is Mother Maria, then) vs Sephiroth united with his alien mommy (Bizarro Sephiroth). So, Sephiroth's last battle is almost a clone of that of Kefka's.
P.S. Kefka > Sephiroth. Sue me.

If I remember you could use ragnerok on the bronsosauraus like monsters on the triangle island and you had a chance to turn them into a gem box or economizer which could be used in the arena to be turned into a gem box. Don't quote me on it. It's been years since I played but I think that's the way.

This game will always be the most beautiful of the Sqaure Soft children. As far as I'm concerned, after this installment every other game of the francise went fucking totally weak. FF7 was good, but nothing in comparison. FF8 can eat my asshole, and as far as any from there I stopped playing, I witnessed, but refused to play them. If you feel me, I'm glad to have some original fans... If not, posers be damned.

Yeah from 8 and 10 onwards series has become to happy, no world map, usable ariships, dark etc, 13 looks just like 10 :(.
Versus 13 looks good because it's trying to go back to old school ff roots but uses a different fighting system. 13Versus world looks like a cross between 6 and 7 and the real world.
