When I have punching tics I wear padded practise boxing mitts, which stop my hands/places i punch being as damaged, and when i'm having 'seizure' tics on the floor i wear a rugby helmet too. just a couple of suggestions that might help you.
How is treatment going - are you still thinking about getting DBS?
Hi :) i have tourettes too so i can understand how annoying it must be for you :( ive been having some real bad tic episodes recently so i need my meds changed. do you take meds for it? i take risperidone. one thing i do when i have self injurous tics, or autistic meltowns, as i know u have aspergers like me, i wear a boxing helmet to protect my head. just a suggestion you might find useful :) i hope you're doing okay today, and i just wanted to say i think your amazing and very inspirational :)
And yes this PANDAS thing might be the explanation we were always looking for, just hte fact that you first got these really bad tics during a sinus infaction back in 2010 make a compelling reason.
The fact that you are progressively getting worse just tells me even more that the thalamus and subthalamus are being eaten away by your own immune system each time you get a sniffle.

@123698lol Jaydy11 is a girl, not a guy. She looks like a guy because she also has Asperger's in addition to Tourette's, and her Asperger's results in sensory issues. Because of her sensory issues, she has to have her hair short and she has to dress a certain way to avoid sensory torture, which is why she looks like a "boy". Also, I know for a fact that she is straight, and not a lesbian.

That is one way I have come to figure out if anyone's a troll or not, they usually have either no content of their own, or their content is super simplistic and juvenile, or it is just hate videos.
My TS is moderate-severe and I get episodes like this. It is very distressing and frustrating. I always feel so exhausted afterwards and something is bound to start hurting as a result.

@sunshine200589 Hey. Those are good questions. My TS is normally how you see it in videos where I'm just talking. This is what we call an episode or explosion. These can happen several times a day or once every two days. You never know! During the day I'll get some violent tics that is a given, but not always like this.
I have hurt myself before. Surprisingly no broken bones. I've had 3 concussions, locked a disk in my back whiplash, shifted bones out of place and much more.

@FrOMaN989WhoDat Some how all I had was a stiff neck for two days. I get confused how that happens too, but very thankful I don't get majorly hurt everytime.
I am so sorry you have to go through this. I didnt know TS could be so violent and the self harm is shocking :( Do you sleep well at night/? after watching this "tic episode" im tired.....are you exhausted after?
@BrooklynsDemons I'm pretty sure I fell asleep right after this mainly because I took benedryl and was exhausted. I only sleep well if I take Melatonin or some sort of 'knock-out' medicine like Benedryl.
@BrooklynsDemons So glad that you pointed out that you were unaware that TS could be so violent. THIS is the reason the Johanna posts such videos, to help educate others to just how bad Tourette's can be.
