Domingo is one of a kind. Him and Ana Maria Martinez together was magic. To beautiful voices in the same piece. I have fallen completely in love with the zarzuela repertoire, I hope it will be deemed more seriously from now on. I'll do what I can in Norway, by singing zarzuela arias as often as possible in concert. Thanks to singers like these it is brought alive and they show the true beauty of this music. I'll do what little I can to further promote it.

I hope he sings with Voigt. I saw them at the Met. The duet was so electric, the audience were on their feet before the finish.He sang like a young kid. Dynamite!!!

Me parece que está un poco acelerado el ritmo, lo que le quita emoción, sentimiento. No noto en ella la ideal interpretación de este dúo. Prefiero la versión de Verónica Villaroel. It's my opinion.

Domingo and Martinez are excellent! I always get amazed when I realize Domingo is 66. The tone is still clean, solid and beautiful. Martinez has a very unusual lyric voice to my ears ...

It has darkish colours that make her sound occasionally like a mezzo. But as for this duet it's great, because that quality gives a more sensual and "hispanic" aura to the interpretation! ;-)

I agree. Domingo sounds amazingly fresh for his age; especially for a tenor. Granted, he doesn't sing at the top of his range in any of these clips, and it's probably not what it used be up there. BUT, there's no wobble, no dry sound. It still gives me goosebumps.
