  • wtf?! fuck you albert heijn rules

  • C1000 all day. every day.

  • COOL

  • COOL

  • EPIC VIDEO!!!!!

  • DONT CARE but cool video b****

  • Shelf Stakkers :-)

  • Alber Hein is expencive but this video is LOL LOL!!!! XD

  • I live there too and I agree

  • this is true

  • I lived in The Hague for 2 years and this pretty much defines my time there! Albert Heijn every day, because there was no other choice!!

  • PIMP C

  • I live in holland and go every day to ah but this is to lol

  • this song is terrible!

  • AH rocks. But I like the song.

  • i tink albert heijn is a great super market! but i still like the song.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate thank you so much For making this!

  • @BreecheeseBree you're most welcome. tell your friends. x

  • thank you sir for creating this marvelous song, made my day, and its funny how true this song is

  • @culadark Als je blieft my friend

  • I need to say, you can't blame Albert Heijn, you need to blame the Dutchies themself. From history, it's a Barbarian Nation and still now there are some rude people left. None of the high-classed Dutch people will work in a supermarket, so the jobs are left for ours barbarian neighbours. In fact, Albert Heijn is one of the best supermarkets there is. Only at the Plus you get better service.

And yes I'm a dutchie myself, and I;m proud of it :D ( almost won the worldcup )

  • Without the shelf stackers you wouldn't have bacon to buy!

  • Although the text is true to the letter, your performance sucks...

  • @dmace That's a bit harsh, Mum.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate Ok, but you should know better than to shop at AH. So many other supermarkets are way better, and just as much around as AH.

if you go to the Zaanse Schans you get to see the original AH-store. It represents every other nice store AH killed on it's way to Dutch Domination :)

  • It's so true. Even now I whine cuz I hate Albert Heijn

  • All of those who are defending albert heijn, are infact native dutch. You dutchies don't know anything else, and therefore you don't know what you are missing!, you've been brainwashed and anaethestised to the mundane crap that AH churns out and you lot just lap it up. personally, I wouldn't stand for the poor service you get at AH. For example have a trip to the UK and you got Sainsburys, Tesco, Somerfield, Morrisons etc The food is much better and they pack your bags for you!

  • Spot on.

  • hold your mouth stupid english

  • was that MVP on the last picture?

  • 10 checkout places and only two or three ever open... racing against the checkout person to fill yourbags before everything gets crunched in the conveyor belt... useless staff who hate to have to help you... when they open another checkout the selfish Dutch have no scruples in pushing in the queue... Give me Sainsbury's and Tesco's anytime!

  • @alladaph Woh there skippy! I may have a little beef with their supermarkets, but don't go knocking our Dutch homies. They're gracious enough to let us live in their country and to speak our language, so cool it with the colonial rants.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate I'm dutch and I think this vid is very funny ;D

  • I recently work in a supermarket and I scan the stuff pretty fast, but I often get compliments about that, yet this song says it's a bad thing. Customers like it when their stuff is scanned fast, right? Or am I getting the wrong picture here?

  • haha :) just got back from ah and couldn't get to the rundvlees I wanted cos there was a stacker in the way :))) What a classic song Love it!!!

  • Every time I hear this song, I have the urge to press the replay button... again... and again... and again...

  • @MsDanteVirgil Thanks. Tell your friends.

  • I like the tomatoes

  • GO ALDI!

  • the iamsterdam song?????

  • i'm in love with most of my ah cashier

  • @yussso I'm presuming you don't go to the same one as me then. Unless you have a thing for being punished.

  • i work at appie for 2 years now and still love it. wel altijd kutklanten die voor het schap staan i.p.v onze vullers dus dat klopt niet echt mongool.

ga anders lekker werken bij de vomar of lidl dan zou je je eigen kak nog willen opfreten om weer te kunnen werken at appie

in case you didnt noticed I DO LIKE AH :P

  • Huh???? I thought Albert Heijn was very cheap and clean! Maybe the staff aren't as nice as the ones in Germany, but alright. :S

  • Why The Fuck am I watching this, I like the AH!

  • omg !!! I live in the nederlands !

  • In fairness its only seems to be the Albert Heijns in the Randstad are crap, mainly becuase of the high cost of living, high rents and it being staffed by kids. Our local Albert Heijn XL in Eindhoven is great with lots of space, checkouts and nice staff, plus the food isn't always gone off and the shop is clean. The AH's in Amsterdam and The Hague are f*cking woeful, tiny with rude staff, and crap all over the floor due to the high footfall throught the shop.

  • Wie is deze Vomar-patriot?

  • Albert Heijn, that's pas fine

  • you should try working at ah, it's worse than shopping there.

  • Whenever I feel sorry about AH, this song is right here to pick me back up. Thanks mate!

  • @youh0e70 Thankyou, that's kind. I like your electronica too. Perhaps we should do a track together. Though I'm running out of supermarkets now.

  • haha love it... i do agree with some points but there are worse supermarkets out there

  • I lived in the Netherlands for two years ... never had any issues with Albert Heijn ... in fact, I loved it.

  • @RaspberryRainbowS That's fascinating. You should make a video about it.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate I wish, but I don't have any pictures.

  • You must come from a country with fake and bad quality food then? Most internationals can't stand the low quality of AH.

I guess it depends what you're used to.

  • @ccon7279 I come from America. Does that say how bad the food is?

  • @RaspberryRainbowS no man . just making fun of it

  • hoogvliet >ab

  • Nice

  • i hate AH too! and i'm dutch! you should've made a bigger deal though of albert heijn's empty stacks. that's my biggest frustration. my friends and i always say: albert heijn XL = albert heijn Xtra Leeg. :)

  • At least they are consistent. Consistently crap.

  • AH is crap?? u should c supervalu and tesco then... at least AH sells eurosho[pper stuff..

  • @venividivici888 What are you on about ? Is Euroshopper your pinnacle ? I've been in there 4 times this week - still can't work out why - and encountered all the things in the song + lots of shelf-stackers but stuff I want is not there + everytime you ask for help you have to sort it out yourself + misleading offers and prices which the staff don't know about. Shambles.

  • we all have to admit defeat ...! lovely and true ! addict to this song now !

  • look some one understands me ah suks

  • of course people its true AH is great isn't it (hum hum !) it has a great quality (ya totally) and everything you need is there (milk, cheese and bread ...) no seriously open your horizon, discover, holland isn't the holy land ... and AH the holy supermarket ...

  • i think the problem is that people feel offended about some stuff that is true ! i mean what is holland known for ? Tulips, windmills, bikes, whores, and not a great weather, unless you've lived in holland thats all you know about (once you've lived in it you find out the truth !).

  • I totally agree with the video, ok true that he could have left out the part with the powder...but come on, even the worse super market in India has better quality, meat, vegetables, everything sucks at Albert Heijn, but infact is not Albert Heijn's fault because in general the quality of the food in Holland is pretty bad, even if you buy at the Natuurwinkel, it's a shame, the country is nice, but this makes living there very difficult, specially for people for other countries like me (Spain)

  • Albert Heijn sucks donkey balls, glad i no longer live in a country where they are.

Oh crap, they just opened one in Belgium, to Arms!

  • C'mon. Even Dutchies have to agree that this place licks massive donkey balls. Nothing to do with anything other than the fact that it is stinking, is over priced and the staff have an accumulative average age of 16. Hence, not having the best social skills when dealing with people. Also, being 10% of the size of most European supermarkets (YES, i have also lived in more than one European country!!!!), is really does lick the back of 'em.. VIVA VOMAR!!!

  • Everything you say shows ignorance.

The problem of youtube is that people like you have the 'right' to publish their crap.

Anyway, Albert Heijn is expensive only for stupid people like you. I eat with less than 80€ per month.

  • @raggzor Does someone need a hug? x

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate How can it being showing ignorance ? He's in in there all the f+£^ing time like he said so he knows like we all do. The only ignorance it's based on is the behaviour of the staff. Shropshire within striking distance of a Tesco, Morrison and Sainsbury's. He's no mug.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate How can it being showing ignorance ? He's in in there all the f+£^ing time like he said so he knows like we all do. The only ignorance it's based on is the behaviour of the staff.

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate I've been in there 4 times this week - still can't work out why - and encountered all the things in the song + lots of shelf-stackers but stuff I want is not there + everytime you ask for help you have to sort it out yourself + misleading offers and prices which the staff don't know about. Shambles. I hear Albert Heijn lives in Shropshire near a Tesco and Sainsbury's. No mug !

  • @raggzor You must be one of the many Dutchies that goes into the supermarket to buy 2 or 3 things. What do you people eat? I am tired of being glared at for trying to buy more than one meal at a time! Who wants to spend all their life in AH.

  • @raggzor You must be one of the many Dutchies that goes into the supermarket to buy 2 or 3 things. What do you people eat? I am tired of being glared at for trying to buy more than one meal at a time! Who wants to spend all their life in AH.

  • @raggzor i eat with over 130 a week, wtf do you buy? dust?

  • i work there it SUCKS

  • poor brits being jealous of how great AH is..... it's cheap, high quality and you can find everything there!!! You probably sniff more powder and have more prostitutes where you're from.... seesh....

  • @bassem182 what??? cheap??? hahahaha! high quality?? are u crazy? maybe you haven't been anywhere else than in Holland...i lived for 8 years in Holland and i have to say, the best meat i've eaten over there is the Kebap meat, pretty sad...

  • Seriously?? AH is the best!! YOU suck!

  • Love it! Could only have been written by a fellow British ex-pat who misses the Britsh supermarkets as much as I do!

  • At last, someone who understands my complete hatred of AH!! You're a genius.

  • I don't get this.

What is wrong with the Albert Heijn?

  • I work for Albert Heijn! xD

  • I love AH. If you are from the US maybe it's not what you're used to but in Europe (and I've lived in many countries around here) it's absolutely the best supermarket!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @annyprot Which countries did you live in? The Ukraine and Bulgaria? ps. I'm not American

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate Switzerland, Belgium, Greece, Hungary, Denmark and Netherlands plus I've been multiple times to supermarkets in the UK, Germany and France. I still like AH best. I guess it's a matter of personal taste but for me, it's cool to have a supermarket in the corner of you house, even if that means very narrow corridors to fit everything in :) UK supermarkets can be also very good though :) And Switzerland had an uncomparable selection of yogurts :)

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate

Hold on! Ukraine and Bulgaria have like Tescos (under another name), the French Carrefour and Auchen and loads of others. In fact most of the former East Bloc enjoy far superior supermarket shopping experience. My Polish friends grumble about the lack of choice here LOL!

In fact the only place I've been to in Europe that comes close as Holland for bad supermarkets was Crete! Mostar wasn't particularly hot either!

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate What's wrong with Bulgaria?

  • @annyprot

What a load of shit !!!!!

  • @annyprot

I lived in the AH-city Amsterdam for 2 years and I really have to agree with this video 100%: Extremly rude staff!!!, absolutely overprized and most of the times stuff you need is missing. I live in Berlin now and supermarkets are like a paradise compared to AH (but also many other things are better here compared to Amsterdam).

  • @spswua i live in berlin now also and agree totally with you. We are spoiled for choice here!

  • I just got fired from the Albert Heijn xD

They said I was too rude to costumers :P

  • Comment removed

  • Lol. Funny song

I work part time at a different supermarked. Albert Hein sucks, there workers are underpayed.

  • I love this, Dutch directness, they really don't like it when it is directed at them do they ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • great ! I am also living in Holland and AlberH sucks

  • I don't think AH is that bad, but Holland drives me crazy! The drugs and the hookers are just a tip of the iceberg....

  • cmon im dutch i hate albert hein but you could have left out the part about the naughty powder and the rude people and the whores fuck you man i think this is one of the most insulting things ive ever seen

  • @DoLeaveItOutMate You need to get out more, pal, if you think it's only AH that's'niet leuk !'

  • YO! If any sickos are awake early enough, I'm on English Breakfast Radio this morning at about 8am. Englishbreakfastradio.nl (you can also listen to it later on here) or 99.4fm. x

  • Poor song, train some humour man...

Also, if you have such troubles with a certain branche of supermarkets, just go to another? And quit being a little whiner about things that are neither true, nor interesting?

  • @Phazon04 there aren't many other supermarket chains in holland so easier said then done.

and this song is true, if you've ever actually been to ah you would know!

  • excellent! I live 8+ years in Ams... and this is a 110% faithful representation of reality

  • DoLeaveItOutMate, I've got to respond to say thanks for one of the best laughs I've had in ages. Absolutely fantastic. But at least they do actually sell bacon... Have forwarded it to lots of my ex-pat friends. Shopping is my least favourite pastime in "the land that customer service forgot". Any chance of one about queuing, personal space or noise pollution on a Sunday?

  • I notice the late Mr Albert Heijn moved to Herefordshire when he retired. Must have preferred Sainsbury's....

  • :-( R.I.P. Albert Heijn.

  • Look what you've done:

    Mr Albert Heijn just died

    just check parool dot nl

  • @faintestideal Yeah, sorry about that.

  • What a load of crap. Been there loads of times. Nothing wrong with it at all.

  • There is one exception: Albert Heijn Elandsgracht (former Lindeman)

  • Een kutwinkel inderdaad. En die reclame, met die walgelijke vent. Echt Nederlands, geen kwaliteit, lijkt goedkoop maar is duur, genaaid. Nederland, naailand.

  • excellent! sooooo terribly true

  • You are a LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just moved to Holland from Australia and feel the same as all the other expats living here.. its so hard not having good quality food that isn't sprayed or greenhoused etc etc... and there seems to be one of every corner... wow.. I am passing this on to everyone, love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • I shop at the super cramped Molukkenshop AH - why oh why do they insist in stocking the shelves on a Saturday afternoon, the busiest day of the week? With that and the staff joking about and flirting and throwing packs of t.p. at each other, how's a customer to shop?

  • @missusravenhorst !!! Not to mention the football-toting children playing in this particular store screaming at you to give them your "football cards" or whatever.

  • Did nobody mention AH's habit of either not putting the prices on the shelves, or the price on the shelf being a good 40 cents less than the price you actually have to pay by the time you get to the checkout? Totally illegal, but supermarkets seem to be the only places in NL which are immune from inspectors and large fines.

  • As crap as AH are, I have to at least credit them for being the only supermarket in NL not to close the minute I leave work, and they even sometimes stock bread after 3 in the afternoon.

  • Such a good idea to have a rodent as a mascot for a supermarket.

  • The stupid assholes who are telling you AH is expensive haven't been in one themselves. I visit 4 supermarkets on a regular basis and I buy my stuff by the cheapest, considered the quality is even. Most of my stuff I buy at AH. Pure for the quality and the low costs. AH ain't the cheapest one but the difference is less than 0.5%. Paid for good quality goods. My experiences with the staff has always been good. I wonder how this AH-bashing started, founded on nothing at all.

  • @uitkijker

AH and quality in one sentence is blasphemy.

    Glad you didn't do that.

AH deserves to be bashed. The Dirk van den Broek sells more high quality products then AH. AH is replacing all the good stuff with their own crappy " huismerk" products. And no, those are not the same.

  • AH baffles me in every way. I'm British, so I don't expect bend-over-backward supermarket staff (dark times in Dartford Sainos). But at least I got what I needed, didnt feel cheated out of a 20 EUR note for 5 items, and knew stuff wouldnt have transfat added (coconut milk). Also, as a franchise, it's up to the owner what's stocked. Weird! Elandsgracht- hello huge bags of fresh herbs for 1.50 and wicked wines. So AH is basically a glorified corner shop. Think I'll stick to my local Turkish dude.

  • So fucking accurate. As another ex-pat I never ceases to amaze me how much Albert Heijn SUCKS! I also feel pity for the satisfied Dutch people that don't know any difference. I showed this to them and they don't get it!!!!

    You are my hero!

  • So true! my god, even rich Dutch people think it is 'excellent'. A Dutch family I know were absolutely horrified that I just casually said it wasn't the best quality and that I try to go the organic shop or the local markets. (thinking they thought the same!) But no.. they were really offended.

It is a shame that all the children of this country will be eating this greenhoused chemical sprayed food, dyed bread as their staple diet for their whole lives.

funny with france next door!... odd

  • This is so true! Albert Heijn depresses you!

  • UPDATE!!!! If you liked the Albert Heijn Song, then be sure to check out its successor: THE DIRK VAN DEN BROEK SONG.

  • So funny! Love it!

  • doesn't every country get the super market they deserve?

  • You are my hero!

  • If you think AH is so crappy (which I totally agree with) then act on it people!! How about we all stop rewarding AH for their behaviour, we leave AH for what it is and biking the extra few blocks to Marqt, Natuurwinkel or just the Turk around the corner. You will get better food, and better service.

  • @faintestideal

Yep, that's what I do. The AH is always my last option, I'd walk twice as far to go anywhere else. And when I do have to go into an AH, I hold my head in shame, SHAAAAAMMMMME.

  • I have lived in Holland for 5 years, and this is so true. I drive to Jumbo/Lidl now to avoid that place. Same level of service but cheaper prices.

  • Love it, good job! But AH does come in handy when you're walking back to your hotel late at night and need a bottle of water for the room. Cheaper than the souvenier shops! dank u

  • All true - I also HATE albert heijn

  • Recognizable!

  • Just a little insight in the Dutch market: because the Netherlands is small, hypermarkets are not really possible. There's absolutely no way such a big supermarket like Tesco would fit somewhere in the centre of Amsterdam. It would be put somewhere in Zuidoost probably. The commute to there, when there's an alternative just around the corner, makes the people here go for the easiest way to their food. Too bad that's Albert Heijn. But this is why hypermarkets don't fit in the culture

  • @SamSterdamned Bollocks.....we don't need an AH on every corner, and given that the Dutch have a massive population for a small country, there is DEFINITELY a market for a properly stocked supermarket.

The lack of choice and crappy staff remind me of being in Perestroika era Soviet Russia...and even then I would have had more selection than on the shelves of AH.

  • @caycu There has been a hypermarket in Muiden. It was replaced by Albert Heijn XL. Do I need to say more about hypermarkets?

It's because of the free market economy that us people have to shop at what you call Soviet supermarkets. Albert Heijn has a monopoly.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of food is it that we'd like to see at Albert Heijn? Biological? Honest? Or just a larger selection?

  • @SamSterdamned

Well, here's a start: I'd like to see produce that isn't wrapped in plastic, a wider selection of produce, more local produce, more organic food (not just fancy marketing that has an organic "look"), and better attention paid to the quality of the produce (e.g. nothing that is seconds away from being rotten)

  • Hear, hear! Albert Heijn is a national blo*dy disgrace. They only get away with it because they have a virtual monopoly and the Dutch public are too willing to accept mediocrity. In fact, they probably don't know any better. They really believe AH is as good as it gets. Most have never seen a *real* supermarket - Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco... even Morrisons! Time to teach them three new English words: selection, service and value.

  • @nottslad57 You're not in the position as a customer to not accept mediocrity if there's no alternative. The only way to protest, is to go to a different shop. There's no other supermarket. Just as pointed out in this vid, in Amsterdam there's practically nothing else but AH. And even if there is, those are even shittier. The only winner in AHs policy is its marketing.

  • @SamSterdamned

Im so lucky to live out of Amsterdam and have other options!!! Although it's not like I can avoid it completely... Last time I went, I really really really wanted to smack the shelf guy with my basket... Then the girl at the checkout refused to understand my "ja" and just stared at me while i was waiting for the receipt for, seriously, two minutes straight, just staring... Deka markt, here I come! :)

  • I am a Dutch expat living abroad and I sooo recognise this. A whole new world opened up for me when shopping abroad. I will be praying for you from abroad. Cheers

  • Hit the nail on the head this spot. It is almost impossible to get your daily shopping in the AH as 50% is permanently sold-out and bacon seems to be a swear-word. Most of the people who work there can't read at all, so you are constantly searching the whole store to find out where they have put the product you want this time.

And the most irritating is that you have almost nu alternative as the AH is EVERYWHERE! :(

  • Albert Hein is the monopolist and they are given all the opportunities to expand and sell their shitty products. And they get away whit it 'cause people rather spend their money on cheap garbage then good food. At least here in the netherlands it seems to be. We should support our local greengrocers, butchers etc more because else:

Ah will be the only supermarket chain left and they will decide what we will eat, drink etc. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, pleeaaaseeeeeeee ahhhhaaaaaaah.

  • @fnirwak1234 You do not know what a monopoly is obviously...

  • Brilliant! My British brother in law calls it the Albert Hell btw ;).

  • This SO needs to go viral so it can hit the big time it deserves and maybe AH will stand up and pay attention (unlikely though). I thank my lucky stars that a Marqt opened not far from where I live, so at least have a decent option available after 6pm during the week in the 'hood!!!

This video is spot on and couldn't have said it in a more polite manner...

  • DoLeaveItOutMate, you are my new hero!!!! You so completely captured the essence of the sh%*hole that is Albert Heijn! :)

  • This made me laugh so bloody much! Sure AH has some higher quality products but genraly its expensive and they have poor service. Maybe Dutch people just don't completely understand customer service? Or maybe they just treat me like shit because i don't speak Dutch, either wouldn't suprise me

  • @enchiladas1990 don't worry, it's nothing to do with you not speaking Dutch. It's to do with Uncle Albert's policy of only employing lazy, gum-chewing arseholes who view all customers as a major inconvenience. Spread the word!

  • At last - there are others who feel the same about AH. It's great to know that we are not alone!

  • All that amazing service - and when you finally get to pay they even round up to the nearest 5cents. I persume this is a tip ;)

whats the alternative... DIRK ? maybe not.....!

Brilliant song, we love it. Every single bit is just soooo true. Well done. cant wait for part No 2..

  • There is also a Facebook group dedicated to their "love" for Albert Heijn with pictures of the atrocities we face every day. Search for "I hate Albert Heijn"

  • wat grappiggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg

  • You've got me & my expat friends laughing our heads off at this.

The attitude at AH drives me crazy and I cant believe they have so many people stacking shelves on Saturday morning when its so busy, yet Monday mornings the shelf are empty and they refuse to look for anything thats not out already.

I've been going to my local AH for nearly 12 years and the only person at the checkout who has ever started a conversation with me was English.

I bet the one dislike you got was an employee of AH
