  • "There is jazz and there is jazz"

  • His touch, his harmonies are out of this world. Still, Teddy Wilson speaks to me from behind the keys, Tatum does not. Most probably I am to blame.

  • @BuckshotLaFunke1 Don't be too hard on yourself. Tatum is a lifelong acquired taste! Listen to the way he intersperses moving tenths and stride elements with his melodic excursions. His empathy with the drummer is thrilling! There are moments when instead of Tatum riding on top of Jo Jones' crisp strokes, the PIANO drives and carries the band (particularly, 2:15 thru 2:22 and 3:09 thru 3:15)! BTW, you and I share a love for the elegant and urbane Mr. Theodore Wilson.

  • 1 word: sexy

  • THIS MAN'S PLAYING ALWAYS BRINGS TEARS TO MY EYES. HOW COULD YOU BE THAT GOOD? SO BEFORE HIS TIME!

  • What a trio!! what I love about this performance is how he matches up with and responds to Jo Jones.

  • He's really taking the piss. Blimey.

  • if i didnt knew this was a lot of time ago, my guesss would be, latin jazz. Bravo Art Tatum!

  • Amazing
