I've seen comment that this was a TRW system. Lucas developed this car years before its relationship with TRW. Development was done at its Solihull research centre and Fen End test track.

Many people, including Michael Heseltine, drove the car before it was scrapped. Lucas / TRW went on to manufacture a radar based ACC system for Volkswagen, though based on a different radar technology to that used on this Jag.

Last I heard the video lane recognition was still being developed.

This car was created by Lucas and Jaguar in between 1991 and 1994. The radar system, video sensor, steering and braking actuators were all developed by Lucas in the UK. This was half a decade prior to the merger with TRW and no TRW technology was on this vehicle.
