Only Problem Is In The Film There Was No Thunderbird. I think he was driveing an Oldsmobile and toward the end of the film he bought a new Chevrolet Bel Air as an anniversary present for the family and she bought him an automatic garage door opener.. :o)

Great film by France's last great writer/director/actor of 'silent' films,Jacques Tati. he is preocccupied and focuses on architecture. Masterpieces is 'playtime' send up of SOM architecture is Paris in 70's.

A wonderful wonderful film. Tati was one of France's national treasures and was treated very badly.

@skylur44, he spent a fortune on making 'Playtime' - DO watch it, building a mini city to do it. They basically made him bankrupt and took the rights to his films.

NICE video! What was the event where Villa Arpel was reconstructed? Jacques Tati films have always been a favorite. It looks like it was constructed possibly at a studio?

According to an article, the designers who recreated the house and furniture had to work by sight, as the original plans no longer exist...
