  • I love this! The animation is really nice and I love the acting! This was actually amzing!

  • Love the animation!

  • Wow... Dave seems to be a bit of a dumbass. Not only does he do nothing to save the guy who gets eaten, not only does he alert the triffids to their presence, but he can't even break a glass cup when he drops it on the ground. Or was it plastic...? 0_o

EVERYTHING I KNOW IS A LIE

  • how can anyone bitch this its awesomeee!!!! what is wrong with u people its better than most crap u see on TV!!

  • Blind people can run and hug... the day of the triffids, what a flawed idea.

I cant believe i read the original book at school

  • @digimbyte Day of the Triffids was the first book I ever read on my own impetus circa 1980. Actually, it's an unusually well-thought-out story and innovative. This video is a bad interpretation -the main fascination about the Triffids was that they looked fairly innocuous (check out the original Penguin illustration) and would be no match for mankind had they not been blinded en masse by the comet. If you were to the film the book verbatim, it would be more like Fernando Meirelles' 'Blindness'

  • @digimbyte The original book had no flaws. This animation takes extreme liberties with the story.

  • Triffids look really cool

  • USE THE BLOODY WATER

  • love it, we watched this while we had some friends over drinking and it was a hit..well done.

  • Nice dude!

  • "Look at the bird!"

    ...facepalm.

  • Great job, dude! I want more!

  • that was awesome man puts my thriller i did in college to shame man love it :D

  • Better than the recent BBC version with Eddie 'Can't Act For Toffee' Izzard.

    WyndhamWeb!

  • Awesome, and the Deco happens to be my local metal pub haha

  • i love it. teriffic job!

  • This is actually better than the BBC two part thing...

  • star wars! Lol

  • what music was playing when the triffid came through the door?

  • 2:09 "Clever girl". A reference to Jurassic Park!

Incidentally, I am now in the process of posting the entire 1981 TV series on my channel.

  • i love the book

  • i love it theres is a new day of the triffids coming out this year and i heard jurassic park in there

  • not bad! If I made it a theatrical movie, I'd probably make the triffids make only leaf rustling sounds and maybe some wooden creaks if anything. Its more haunting.

  • I like this, thanks. Kind of Shaun of the Dead meets Alan Titchmarsh.

  • I love the book, the movie, and the BBC miniseries

  • LOOK AT ALL THE BLOOD!

    THis is greatly made

  • haha star wars music ;d

  • Hey there! great movie!! I'd love to see a full lengh movie like this.

What software do you use to make the tfiffids and the real vintage look???

  • Very PC with lots of blacks

  • Dude, I just made the film when I was at uni and used my real friends as the cast. There was no focus group about race.

  • Nifty!

    "And I really got hot

    When I saw Janette Scott

    Fight a Triffid that

    spits poisons & kills!"

  • Excellent work! I would go see this in a theater.

  • what font is used 00:10

  • It's a customised font I downloaded based on 28 Days Later. Should be easy enough to track down :)

  • thanks :)

  • where did you get a fony from? thats awesome.

  • Ha, that was added in post production. Like the triffids, just a bit more subtle :)

  • Triffids do not behave like that. They kill their prey and wait for them to decompose. Who wrote this crap!?

  • that was very good! Brill infact! well done!

  • Fantastic - I love the look and feel of this. The triffid design is pretty cool too.

  • DID you animate this movie yourself??? THE OLD FASHION LOOK IS AMAZING.

  • I assume that's a complement and you're not being sarcastic? But yes I did animate it myself. You mean it has a retro-stop motion feel? If so, thanks :)

  • It's very well done. what sort of software do you use???

  • It uses 3ds max, lots of After Effects work, and edited in Premiere, take a look at the trailer which I was envolved with as well.

  • Thanks for that I'm some sort of a movie maker myself. I find movies like yours very interesting.

  • im your #1 fan.

  • well made man good job :)
