  • I has Lasik surgery twice, the first time about 10 years ago. I now wear glasses again and I'm only in my 30s. Lasik is not permanent.

  • Watching videos like this makes lasik not worth it for me, especially since I only considered it for convenience and I actually like my glasses. I get new frames every year or so and I'm happy with that

  • Had my surgery done a year ago and was a complete success. Do your research, get a good doctor. Plain and simple..

  • Can you give me Dr Roy Rubenfeld Numbers ? He the best doctor i can trust..

  • can you sue if the surgery goes wrong ?

  • @RayWilliamJohansen No, you cannot sue if the surgery goes wrong.

  • @RayWilliamJohansen i thought you were RayWilliamJohnson for a sec.

  • i had it done and a number of my friends all are absolutely happy except one who also has depression, she improved after consultation with a psychiatrist, I would suggest you do the same.

  • I had Lasik one month before and I feel confortable my eyes I havent got any problem

  • ITS SURGERY, all surgeries have a percentage of complications. Fortunately I was able to have it done 3 years ago and Im fine, my cousin had it 2 years ago and also is fine. Both of our fathers however were told they were not candidates. Again ITS SURGERY, do you research, count the risks and if its something you want to do then so be it.

  • aww i got thin corneas, guess its a no for me, oh well glasses it is :) i'm an artist so my eyes are really important for me.

  • i wonder, did the lady who's vision is now bad have a pre-operative test to see if she was a good candidate? I'm getting it done at the end of september, but first i scheduled a consultation to see im im a good candidate or not. im a healthy, fit, 22 year old guy

  • there is actually a non-surgical option to lasik called Corneal Molding (Ortho-k); nowdays this option is very safe, fast and predictable; it is even approved for children underage. For more info, go to eyecornealmolding. com

  • THEY WILL MAKE LASIK CHEAPER N CHEAPER CAUSE THEY WANT

TO LASIK EVERYBODY N THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES.

  • @lokawidu

Every single surgery, no matter how minor, has risks. They warn you clearly of those risks before they operate. Even if the doctors themselves did not warn you, what kind of idiot would go and get elective surgery without doing any research on potential side-effects?

This woman is an adult. She knew the risks before she had the surgery and she chose, as an adult, to take those risks. It has nothing to do with doctors "not caring about the consequences".

  • well i always see docter with contacts or glasses soo that kinda says a lot by itself

  • go to lasik dare devil dot com (avoid the spaces etc.)

  • I'm about to get it done.It will be done by one of the best eye center in my city and the cost will be over $3000. Don't go to the $289 per eye places which use older outdated laser. Also get the blade free lasik which makes a custom flap for your eye and heals stronger.

  • @billybassman21 which city?

  • @MaKhudaAstum Mann eye center in Houston, TX Got it done, been great.

  • everything has fail and success rates.

  • there is a little change it goes wrong,

but if you are that little change you lost one big important thing of your body.

I think that is why I decided not to have lasik

  • @Katy7321 I agree. I just had the surgery a few days ago and I went to three doctors before I found one that I trusted. This practice has ten doctors each with over 10000 surgeries under their belt. My vision went from 20/1000 to 20/15 in 24 hours.

  • @Drudy90 hi do you happen to know which doctor you went to?

  • @LilxAznxCore I don't know which specific doctor did mine but the practice was Atwal Eye center in Buffalo NY

  • @Drudy90 thanks :)

  • @Drudy90 thanks :) i live in nyc so that's close enough

  • I dont wanna suffer too.. Its a risk if it works well it does well. but if doesnt u cud turn blind

I think ill stay with my glasses for now

  • LOL! TIGER!!! XD

  • 95?? So I have 5 to get fu..ed. Not taking it!!

  • Lasik is a dangerous, unnecessary procedure. To compare, it's like someone 5'10 going for limb stretching surgery in the hopes of becoming 6'. Peeling back the flap of your cornea is inherently risky. What if you rub your eyelid 2 months after surgery and it dislodges the flap that was supposed to have healed in '2 weeks' or whatever they tell you? Lasik is a business, and the docs who perform it are businessmen first and foremost!

  • even besides the immediate risks, who knows what will happen to their eyes 20 years after the surgery.

  • i had lasik

    i'm fine

but apparently i'm stupid and i should be blind by now, because 99% of people go blind and die after the surgery.

dude. a decent doctor is going to measure your eye in 484514 ways before he can tell if you're a good candidate for the surgery. if you're not, hes gonna tell you "i'm sorry, but you cant have it". of course those doctors are the expensive ones, but if you're gonna pay a guy to CUT YOUR EYE OPEN, you better choose a decent one.

  • Hey you can't ever drive at night again, you won't be able to read music because the page "moves" but hey "you're 20/20!!"

  • Do no go for lasik because there is no plan B, its irreversible, it was worst decision of my life, they never guarantee that you are not among that 5 % risk group,

  • c'mon now people...it's not call surgery for nothin...alwayz risks thats y when u were little ur parents said think b4 u do...once theres somethin wrong with u surgery not gonna make it back to normal anymore...more then likely it'll make it worst

  • abby can stop bein a bitch and suck it up cuz she took the risk, now smd stupid ass bitch.

    P.S im stickin to glasses/contacts..

  • Comment removed

  • Not worth the risk. I've worn glasses my whole life and I'm totally fine with it. In fact, I like that the glasses make me look studious :)

  • It's some greedy doctors that do the surgery anyway, even if the patient is a poor candidate.

  • Just had Lasik done on 6/15 and I love it.

  • They may have a high rate of success, but I wouldn't want to be that small percentage plagued for life. Just one set of eyes. Not worth the risk.

  • Don't be fooled by the fancy terminology, eg. femtosecond lasers, etc. Just ask those who work with lasers at universities, e.g. in physics and engineering, and they will tell you the truth! You cannot undo the damage. Just stick to glasses and contacts (if you can wear them). I know of one doctor who did lasik yet he wore glasses!!! What does that tell you?!

  • there wasnt youtube when I took lasik

  • I had Lasix and loved it for years. But recently I had a detached retina in my left eye which has made my vision worse than before my lasix. The next step for me will need to be a lens implant. I was told that the detached retina was not caused by my lasix surgery burt some people disagree.

  • Dr Anthony Roberts ruined my eyes. He workd in baltimore MD and sucks. He turned his back on me when the surgery went wrong.

  • I'm from Canada and had my life ruined by the LasikMD outfit. Dr. Wallersteins LasikMD chain is destroying peoples lives, Ive talked to a number of other people that have been ruined at the hands of this clinic just like me. Lasik is not safe and don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

  • if you had lasik ,there will be no tears for cries,so if one of relative dieds ,you wouldnt able to cry.....that is sad

  • It's a myth that LASIK patients who suffer complications complain openly. The fact is that many don't even tell their family. They may even tell people that their LASIK was great and keep their LASIK complications a secret. Why would they do this? The reasons are many. Here's just 1 reason .LASIK is permanent. You can't return it like a bad pair of glasses. Therefore, many choose to rationalize their bad decision (ex. sure my night vision sucks but at least I don't need glasses). LASICK!

  • I wear glasses and after seeing all this infor on Lasik will never get it. I saw the procedure on a film they had at a Science Centre and it gave me chills - it just seems to risky.

  • I know it says that the LASIK surgeon in the news story got LASIK. Some LASIK surgeons got LASIK in the early years of LASIK. Now there's so much research showing that LASIK is terrible for your eyes (short-term, long-term, or both) that you would be hard-pressed to find a LASIKA surgeon who had LASIK in the last few years. The fact is that most eye doctors where glasses for a good reason.

  • *wear glasses

  • Lasik fucks up your vision. I know I had it done

  • 1) Get a very good doctor, that's not over confident has a record of LOTS OF SUCCESSFUL SURGERIES.

    2) A doctor who fucking knows what s/he's doing.

    3) Pay the damn price, don't get some cheap $50 LASIK eye surgery behind a dumpster.

  • @LovelyYTRocks

Seriously. Go to a real doctor and not some sketchy creep operating in a strip mall. Pay more for blade free/customvue and any other bells and whistles. It's your freaking VISION and it is worth spending a lot to make sure that you get the best results possible. If you did go to a LASIK mill or a really questionable MD for your procedure, a real doc can probably fix the botch job, depending on how bad it was.

  • @LovelyYTRocks Lol "Lasik from behind a dumpster" xD you made my day. Anyhow I'm getting my Lasik next thursday $4500 (damn) but he's a pretty famous surgeon and uses top of the line laser systems so I hope for the best.

  • @LovelyYTRocks I got mine at a gas station for $25.00 with a free gallon of gas, worked pretty well.

  • The place I went to won't operate on some people who don't meet the qualifications of the initial exam and they have done 100s of thousands of surgeries in Canada. I had is done a month ago and I'm already better than 20/20 and my dry eyes are getting better every day as they told me it would. I only need eye drops first thing in the morning when I wake up now. The technology is much better now too and many of the problems they talk about were in the past when they had inferior equipment.

  • If she got corneal transplants, would this help her?

  • sad.

  • An elective procedure, doctors will not come clean about the possible side effects of LASIK. Twelve years post-LASIK and it remains the worst decision of my entire life. Are you willing to take that chance?

  • Shut up! Lasik is the bomb! Eleven more years, and they'll implant whole eyeballs.

  • My optician tried to sell me this the other day , he said the worst side effect was having to repeat the procedure .

Even if the risks/negative gamble with your eyes, only applies to 5% of people , what if your one of the 5% ?

My optician is obviously a disingenuous, capitalist whore , and I'll now find someone who's will give me the whole truth in relation to treatment.

  • they one had one person? seriously they shoulda got more people with probs after the surgery,

  • Look at all of the Lying LASIK Quack Charlatan Ophthalmic Panel Members!! They all have glasses on...buyer beware!! They will tell you they are happy with glasses, that's why they never got LASIK. Truth be told, is they know the damages being left under the surface, cell mutation from the UV light of every laser, and the permanent FLAP that severs the nerves causing the decrease of tear production, a necessity for "healthy eyes, and visual acuity." All of them, go to HELL!! Do not pass go!!

  • Dr. Dean Dornic will do LASIK on anyone with a pulse and a credit card. My eyes are painful 24 hours a day after LASIK.

  • Bro, that's not funny at all. You're eyes are VERY important. My vision is naturally crappy, and it's not fun having bad eye sight.
