How I draw my ecoline pictures

I am usually painting with oil on canvas. Large works, I like to make sketches, where ecoline seems an advantage. You have been a great help. I come back again often. I am very found of Luis Royo. He has a DVD in his book "The Dead Moon".

Ink pen must be waterproof, so I use Faber Castell

dude.. this is fucking awesome. it was definitely an inspiration. i'll start using ecoline on some draws (never used before). btw how did you you learn these techniques.. just by trying?

Ecoline is a bit like watercolor, so you shouldn't use thin paper, because it will fold when having big amount of water in it.

Just by trying, without checking out stuff by yourself, you never know how it works.

@apcesarr It's hard to explain. I use paper that is thick like paperboard, but it has no wavey insides, and has certain colours, like gray-green or brown. Most people use it for passe-partout, but I use it for drawings, it drains water immediately and won't ever fold. It should be 1 or 2 mm thick with many layers of white paper. There's no
