Wow, you guys really dont' know what this songs means. He likes the girl but knows that it will not last. So, to spare the girl pain or disappointment, he's cutting the relationship off from the start. References to her age through the song serve to accentuate this in a sense that she is too young to see the hurt that will come at the end of it all and that it will be particularly painful for her due to her age. To sum it up, he likes her too much to put her through a doomed relationship.
