  • The middle class experiment is over and TPTB are reverting to feudalism.

  • @esalian9 Because of youtubes idea of not beeing able to write links you have to search for more info in youtube, on google or go into my intelligent union wordpress blogg.

  • "The most important video you will ever see" explains why "creating jobs" is not the solution. Stupid idea in itself, btw. Think about it! Working without any good reason? Cut down more trees? Jared Diamond explains it further in more detail so that you will be able to undersant it fully in "Easter Island's End". "Intelligent Union" is the political movement supporting an intelligent strategy for the future.

  • @martinvaxjo I'm interested in the most important video. Who created it. Is it the arithmetic video on youtube?

  • @esalian9 Yes it is the one with the old dude teaching you about the consequences of growth. 8 clips.

  • Great interview Paul! I hope you get to interview David Graeber. That interview would be great to see!!

  • I see the orchestrated economic depression is still working to keep humanity in a state of dept and mental depression. it's keeping society from gaining enough confidence to think independently enough to starting a revolution against the higher class rich owners of our lands.. no, actually i'm just kidding. i have no idea what's going on, i just like to think i do. have a good day today. don't forget to be positive and smile! :D

  • should it really be called the PERI Institute, i mean, then it's literally Political Economy Research Institute Institute

  • Why should China not consume everything they produce themselfs? Because the american Dollar con makes them slaves to buying resources like oil with fiat Dollars. America will soon learn that we all can live better without their military and useless wastefull wars. Obama is an idiot who did the same as bush. No change at all. It's all a racket.

  • The problem with Capitalism, is it causes poverty, competition, materialism , and greed. There needs to be a limit to how much personal wealth one can accumulate, otherwise you'll get these few billionaires, and poverty everywhere as we see today. 1 in 6 are on foodstamps in America. Globalism made it cheaper to get the same product from over seas, than from across town and it's a waste. Homogenius societies create jobs, localities not assembly lines and cheap slave labor.

  • Working Class is disorganized and the capitalists have taken full advantage of that. Start networking and supporting workers across the world, don't fall for the corporate media. Start reading about socialism, it's not bullcrap, Capitalism is and there are very good reason why socialism has been resisted by these leeches.

  • Its not 'Capitalism' which should be on trail here, there is nothing wrong with capitalism in principal , it should be 'CORPORATISM' on trail here !!! Its the Corporate structure thats allowing corporations to bribe politicions, tax individuals, allow private banks to print money and run countries. The 'Real News' loves talk crap and keep useless debates going around and around so you end up going nowhere !!!!!!

  • @robertk1968 I am a libertarian socialist, and I actually think you are right, Robert. It is rather a kind of polyarchic corporatism (a corpus/body/monster with many heads), because the original ideas about what capitalism was supposed to be, as expressed by Adam Smith (I think), should be far from anything like what we have. But I still think we should find a way out of the monetary price system as a whole. And here I think we should use the scientific method.

  • This video won't share "properly" on Facebook. i.e. it shows the link but there's no image and it won't play on my wall. I have found this is happening a lot lately, but it seems to be exclusively videos related to protest movements -- videos of cats (or whatever (post just fine). Is anyone else having this problem or is it just a coincidence?

  • Here's a suggestion:

    - Disarm all nations. Melt all weaponry

    - The rich (we all) lower our living standards in order to share with the poor

    - Form a new system based upon labour and respect, NOT MONEY

    - Imprison all those zionist bankers and military complex bosses !!!

    Peace

  • Change your mindset. The major issue is continuing to think in terms of countries and nations. We live on a single planet, a globe - Globalization is fact.

We need to get rid of borders, patriotism, and the them v us mentality to align with reality. Once the 99.9% are joined, the monyed based control mechanism will die.

  • @ThownUp LOL. But there is a reason for multiple number of countries. Not all people are same. So, for example: There is one country. 51% of people in it wants everything to be red but 49% wants everything to be blue? So why should the 49% be unhappy? Instead, they separate, make their own country and paint everything blue, And people who like red stay in the country that paints everything red. Understand? One global government would create tyranny of the majority and would repress minorities.

  • @MrWsad Not all people are the same - true, and that is a vital part of our existence, but your argument is flawed, as the important factors of our lives are the same.

The problem now is that people only see and evaluate things from within the box of the current system that we exist in. When enough people wake up to the reality that we are all inter-connected, as we are with every other form of life on the planet, the concept of government will change, illuminating tyranny/repression etc

  • Globalism didn't fail; the top 1% have won and it all worked beautifully for them.

  • Globalization failed for already develop countries, while it profited developing ones with slave labor wages. In other words, globalization has only for the most part benefited the rich.

  • Want real change? Vote Third Party.

  • @Idtelos Want a third party? Get rid of citizens united and put instant run off voting in every state through ballot iniatives.

  • The jobs that are gone are gone. They aren't coming back. Automation has replaced human labor and it’s only going to continue. People don't need jobs, they need their needs met. The monetary paradigm based on wages paid for labor has been made obsolete by technology. It's time for a new system.

  • @vrd180 agree 100%. We need a new system that has never been created before to go along with a world that has never existed before.

  • @vrd180 Ehm, I dont like to upset you but most of the jobs in society are still done by humans, and it will always be that way.

  • @gulbirk Have you been on a farm lately? What used to take hundreds of workers now takes a few dozen. Same is true for the manufacturing sector. What keeps humans employed is cost, which the cost of automation is dropping every day. Soon the cost to automate will become far cheaper than to employ even illegals or outsourced work. The service industry has expanded as a result of loss in labor but even that is changing. Technological unemployment is the elephant in room no one is talking about.

  • @vrd180 Still, most jobs have to be done by actuall people. Service jobs, social workers, doctors, nurses, teachers, etc. Not to include the number of people one need to fix and create these machines.

  • @gulbirk Jobs arent gone. Its just that they arent here anymore, they are in third world countries.

  • @gulbirk Service jobs are being automated too. ATMs, kiosks, etc. A scanner or other type of device connected to a vast data base can diagnose disease in patients far more accurately than a human can (not that one exists, YET). Those involved in designing and maintenance of machines are only a few. The number of human required jobs is far too few to support the current system. Most jobs we have today could all me eliminated by mechanization. The trend is clear.

  • @vrd180 Only those within production. Doctors, nurses, social workers, teachers, people working in gindergartens, psychologists, scientists, mechanics (not to speak of all those we need if we make more machines), politicians (AND their secrataries), everyone within sports, etc.

  • @gulbirk Then why are we having employment issues? Why then aren't these jobs enough to support the system as it is? Because there simply is not enough of them. No one with a HS diploma GED or less can get jobs doing these things. Simply search automation vs. employment to see for yourself. Automation and production are inverse to employment.

  • @gulbirk @gulbirk Service jobs are being automated too. ATMs, kiosks, etc. A scanner or other type of device connected to a vast data base can diagnose disease in patients far more accurately than a human can (not that one exists, YET). Those involved in designing and maintenance of machines are only a few. The number of human required jobs is far too few to support the current system. • The "global economy" tanked with the meltdown of 08. The meltdown proved that global economy doesn't work and [sic] never will.

"Keynesian economics" is toothless against the "global economy". Also, the Scandinavian countries (Europe's rich countries) enjoyed the finest leftist policies and still can't cope with globalization. (Remember the Norwegian fascist nut who gunned down hundred kids this year?).

The Democrats are done for. Don't expect anything.

  • @akkonburike I agree with your points that not even Scandinavian economics, which are the most socialist countries in the world (the "East Block" wasn't anything remotely socialist in my opinion), can stand up with the socalled globalization.

But I can't understand what the Norwegian fascist has to do with it. It could have happened 30 years ago as well. What can be said about that is that if you really want to prevent that from happening, you need to educate people to question everything.

  • @RSFO Thanks for answering. The fascist nut who gunned down these kids was also insane. He's insanity has multiple dimensions, it's something entirely new.

What I tried to say is: You need a deeply troubled society as background to "enable" such a insanity.

It's a similar tragedy with the "Highschool shooter" (and maybe the understandable example): It's a sign that our societies create to much "pressure" for the individual. Certainly, a great deal of this "pressure" comes from globalization.

  • @akkonburike Scandinavia may be troubled. But it is nothing in comparison with Pakistan or Afghanistan or Iraq. These societies have become smashed by US influence. The capitalist globalization may of course be the background why our Scandinavian models haven't been improved yet more. (And I would prefer something like Anarcho-Syndicalism, hehe.) The system prevents people from understanding what goes on in the world. This is why many people vote against their own interests.

  • @RSFO So you think it's too far fetched? That globalization (or the "global economy") puts too much "pressure" onto the individual.

  • @akkonburike Emma Goldman famously said "A society gets all the criminals it deserves". I don't think you and Emma's insight is too far fetched from the truth. The system increases the possibility that these maniacs spawn and strike. If you really want these things to stop, you would want find the root of the problem, which I think IS the pillars of our global system, owned by the masters of mandkind. But it is not like they control everything. Information undercuts the system.

  • Anders Breivik is not dumb within his own paradigm-system. But what I think is insanity is when you are unable to break out of that paradigm. To ask if the pillars of your thought system might be wrong, even if you can't currently see why. That is some level of instanity. There are certain questions that the corporate media can't ask as well. That's insanity within the system. It is what contrasts with intellectual/scientific honesty. We should teach eachother this with debate. =)

  • We proudly present: "How to make things better." An other epic YT comment -_-

    1) Re-localize the global economy (this will take decades). Let's built human friendly (local & independent) habitats again, ok? 2) The PSEUDO Science of macro-economics needs to be refuted by Scientist. 3) The "opinion making" news agencies (NYT, Economist, Time Magazine) need to be dismantled by Scientist, eg getting the "attention insanity inside sticker". 4) We need to get Fusion done (resolving the energy crisis).

  • @akkonburike these are all very good ideas.

  • The demand is not going to be there and they're going to trough the whole system into the proverbial shitter without the Americans being able to participate in consumption as a result of reduced wages, job loss and austerity, the rest of the world doesn't make enough to continue to create the profits that these companies enjoyed. So while these "fixes" may not annihilate demand the profitability of that demand will be greatly less.

  • Check the =Rosebud Hog Factory - Part 1 on youtube. This is Capitalism at work. Capitalism is next to Fascism and eventually destroys everything in it's path with no concern for life of people you are nothing but animals and are treated as such. The vampires do not care about you.

  • jobs=slavery in the old days people would work in "their" fields to provide for "their" family. now we work for dictators.A CEO or a "Boss" is a dictator. The workers don't vote for things in a company. We need a Resource Based Economy! /watch?v=4Z9WVZddH9w Modern humans depend on one another so let's make this ride easier for each one of us.

  • @boumar19721972 the voice of sanity has spoken.

  • We need stimulus but the problem with traditional Keynesian is that in the age of globalization - money given to the consuming class will probably go for foreign goods and money given to the investing class will probably go to foreign investment- so to get any velocity stimulus must be tightly targeted ( infrastructure, near zero % interest loans for home energy efficiency , work training initiates, education etc, etc other)

  • I dare someone to say "it's not capitalism it's corporatism/the Fed."

    I DARE YOU!

  • @mojorhythm its not Capitalism its the Government.

  • @Canadiancritickid the accumilation of wealth for the sake of wealth inherently creates waste because it doesn't make sense to create durable goods or to repair them when they break because you can make more money off of consumers that way. It incourages greed and materialism in consumers while discourages compassion for ones neighbors. You can buy a $4000 handbadg that may have cost $10 overseas to produce just for the namebrand. It's a sickness.

  • @pantheon777 its better than socialism. in socialism everyone is an equal ass loser. a doctor makes as much as a mcdonalds worker. you cant work to get somewhere. in Capitalism you work to have a better life. Socialism = no freedom. Capitalism = freedom. if i broke something im gonna want it fixed. yes it will cost money but its worth it. it doesnt encourage greed. it incourages friendliness between the consumer and the worker.it costs more cause it costs money to ship it here from there.

  • @Canadiancritickid You are setting up this false polarity between socialism and capitalism that doesn't exist -both are hierchical systems -niether is democratic or free for all. Also, you are making the assumtion that profit is the only motivation for people to work and automation is going to phase out the McDonald's worker anyway. If you've ever worked as a low wage retail worker you would know your statement about "friendliness" is false. Death by poverty is built into the system.

  • @pantheon777 Socialist.

  • @Canadiancritickid I very much doubt you'd find any mcdonalds workers in socialism.

  • @pantheon777 if i wanted to have somthing repaired its gonna cost money because im taking time away from the person repairing it. and its gonna cost him money to buy the materials needed to repair it. it costs 4000 dollars here because if we made it here it would probly cost like 14000 dollars because we have workers unions and all that. to have another country make it is helping that country build its economy. the money from goes to the person that made it,and the company that sell and make it

  • People without conscience just don't care.

  • "Blinded by self-importance.... the visionaries of society haven't the vision of a blind musician nor the perception of a churchmouse_"

    ~~cc

  • Capitalism is a parastical system that implodes on itself regularly. That is the history of the system. That doesn't mean that the system is without merit or beyond repair, it just means there needs to be structure and regulation of the system. The accumulation of wealth without regard for consequence is the #1 problem of the system. It does not take into account the externalities like effect on other people, the biosphere, the society etc. If that can be remedied, the system works well.

  • @youngbuck189 capitalism is based on exploiting your fellow man, to try and get AS MUCH money as you possible can, that's the name of game. Greed is rewarded, altruism punished. In our current system social progress and human well being will ALWAYS come second to profit.

Its not something you can regulate.

  • @KillerWhaleSFl It can be regulated. Its just wont make the sociopaths happy. Things like health care, education, energy, and food should all be free of profit systems, they should be communally funded and shared. Human rights essentially. The natural resources of the nation must be communally owned, they belong to the people, not the corporations to profit off of by selling it back to us. I have no problem with capitalism left in the realm of useless consumer products.

  • @youngbuck189 while I agree that basic human rights should be free of profit, I dont believe you can separate the two, every thing would grind to a halt without the monetary motive.

The system needs to be dismantled, totally, and rebuilt around something that actually works.

  • @KillerWhaleSFl dismantling the system will most certainly be a more disasterous idea than modifying it. grinding to a halt will be an understatement if you blow it all up. it sounds nice, its a good idea, but in reality we just cant do that.

  • @youngbuck189 well it can't be done in a day, there will have to be a transitional period. Make no mistake this will happen, its just a matter of how long we cling to this dying system. Unfortunately the people who have a vested interest in maintaining said system are the ones currently in power, and their not going to give it up without a fight. You cant really blame them.

  • What we have here in the U.S. is corporatism and/or crony capitalism. Don't be fooled.

  • @im1greatman Laissez-faire is no better. The Gilded Age was small government, low taxes, state's rights, and a gold standard. Life was so horrible for the middle class and working people, that if it wasn't for FDR eventually stepping in with the New Deal, capitalism would have been overthrown entirely in some chaotic rebellion.

So ironically, FDR is the best friend that capitalism ever had.

  • @im1greatman

Funny how people like you will always say it's "corporatism" or "crony capitalism" but always point to Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia and claim that socialism and communism are evil.

  • @Devilock79 Glad to see you know me oh so well.

  • The truth of the matter is that we all live on, and are totally dependent upon, planet earth. Globalization is reality. The life-detached capitalist system (money at any cost other than money) and the out-of-date concept of nations that we continue to unthinkingly adhere to are the cause of our woes.

Money and borders are man-made constructs that we impose upon ourselves, restricting human life.

  • kindof annoying how this channel keeps using the term capitalism when what we have now is clearly corporatism (government benefits/protection for big banks/corporations) but i certainly agree globalisation is failing, in terms of politics... global trade is obviously a good thing but NOT when our governments control our economies for the benefit of banks/corporations! end the fed! end the state!

  • The ILLUSION of politic's is all a RUSE. The political class and the entrenched economic elite are ONE AND THE SAME.

  • "Capitalism" is just a marketing term, it's not a thing that exists in reality, it's a ruse used by the kleptocrats wanting to appear to be successful rather than corrupt and criminal. Calling it capitalism just helps them at their game.

  • There's a paradox or contradiction in what's going on: the rich want to pay a shit wage to everyone, but if they do so, who will buy their inflated-price products? I mean, if their wish comes true and we all earn five or six bucks a day as people do in China, who will be able to afford the $100 Nikes they'll try to sell us? How is this going to work?

  • @profd65 That's why they invented credit - so you can borrow the money at an interest rate, then pay it back over time from your meagre paycheck. So they fuck you twice. Nice touch.

  • this is sad. when you think were we are going.

  • the Sidney Morning Herald reported on a poll conducted in America which found that people prefer capitalism over alternative forms of political economy BUT by only a small margin. Yes, in ultra-conservative America, people are seriously putting capitalism on trial, though you would never know it from the garbage being fed to us by the corporate media, Thank God for indy media, like TRN.

  • Crony, Corrupt Capitalism is what is on trial!!!!

  • @fivestarmichael They got influenced by the bourgeois or bank lobbyists.

  • Austerity measures are put in place to make sure all of the nation's tax dollars go to paying off IMF debt. But why did these nations run up so much debt?

  • unfortunately it is not going to let me watch this one.

  • Globalization failed miserably.

  • @237Michael

right wing globalization failed yep yep. I believe true globalization is being successful IE the internet. I think something incredible will emerge with everyone around the world standing up for their rights.

  • @237Michael However, globalization did not fail for the elite. If you are the 0.1% you would probably love globalization. However, from your and my point of view we are the 99.9%, and globalization has been a foot up our ass.

  • @Bravesfan4500 Say that to the Chinese who can, BECAUSE of capitalism provide a decent education for their children so they wont have to work in a factory. Globilization has helped billions of people, perhaps not you but the Indian who can afford the basics for the fist because they have a job.

  • @237Michael Except for the Billions of Asians who are much richer and better of than they were originally...

  • @237Michael Globalization is happening no matter you like it or not. I am a Swedish citizen and I watch Real News(US), RT(Russia), CCTV(China) etc.

  • @237Michael Neoliberalism is the true enemy of all ideologies.

  • @237Michael Isn't it odd that Globalization ,as tried by the current "Corporations," failed with the exception of outsoursing?

  • Unfortunate Max Headroom effect on Weisskopf's video feed.

  • Political solution- add a direct democracy to the senate via an online voting system where senators continue to write bills and vote publicly along side the citizens (to avoid fraud) . There is no need for two House of Representatives when we can represent ourselves.

  • Economic solution- Create a US debt-free currency (ex. the greenback). Print it at a 1:1 ratio with the current Federal Reserve notes to have a smoother transition. Cancel the debt to the Federal reserve and work out a deal with foreign creditors like China. Legalize alternative forms of money/currency like Gold, silver and Bitcoin.

  • More communists on RealNews. Shocking.

  • @chapaev36

    shut up, nazi

  • Silly Commie, don't you know if you just get rid of the minimum wage altogether and return to the freedom of the market, letting the invisible-Hand-Man do his job, that everyone could be employed?!?! I pity the sheeple... baa baa baa!!!

  • @bulldogger Ya, we'll all be making 10 cents a day. Oh boy!

  • @bulldogger Go easy bulldogger, we're all sheeple to one idea or another.
