@brainbjj Fischmann's leg crosses the outside of Ryan's knee and his foot goes past the hip. That's a reap.

@BJJ1553 What I'm saying is it looks to me like Rudy is pushing up on the arm, not engaging Ryan's leg at all. It looks like the foot-to-bicep control you'd typically see with spider guard.

Either way that typically wouldn't result in automatic DQ at a US Grappling event (which this was) as it would at an IBJJF event. If the ref (Trey) felt the knee was being reaped he would typically warn the attacker, not just end the match. The ref could end the match immediately but typically wouldn't.

@getsetrecords the Hall vs Garcia vids on youtube are the first time they trained, June '10. If you subscribe to Marcelo's site, you can also watch their training session in August '10. Ryan had his game face on that time and was able to show Marcelo a bit more of his game in that session. This coming from a HUGE Marcelo fan and follower.
