  • @FallsMan31 lessons in person help, but if my tutorials are enough for you, then that's great!

  • It was a bit fast... if i replayed it a couple times i could figure it out but you defiantely can't just watch this video once and totally get it.

  • thank you buddy that helped.talk about optimism.YOU encourage me .i actually have hope in learning notes and chords on a guitar which i didnt15 minutes ago.THANK YOU.

  • Every Acid Dealer Gets Busted Eventually

  • walt you are the man

  • i just want to say thank you so much! you made everything so crystal clear. my mom bought me a guitar for christmas and I just about gave up on trying to learn. I know zero about music and have been looking all over the place for someone or some website to teach me how to read, understand, and play music. Thank you for your videos and website. you are wonderful!

    thnx

  • haha i have that same exact guitar and its worth a lot of dough cuz its 40 y/o

  • Beginning with open string, E open, 1st fret, F, 2nd, F#, 3rd - G, 4th, G#, 5th - A, 6th - A#, 7th - B, 8th - C, 9th - C#, 10th - D, 11th - D#, and at the 12thy everything repeats itself an octave higher.

  • hey can anybody help me here?? pls: is like this : from first fret : is 1 :e 2: f 3:f# 4:g 5:g# 6:a 7 :a# 8:b 9:c 10:c# 11:e# 12:e??? is this corecct ??? if not can you pls reply and say the corecct one .. (im sorry but im from romania and i dont understand well english pronution letters)

  • Good instructions. Good Teacher.

    Thanks

  • i donnot care about ernie all . i can easily remember by this . ignore the two E . and Boy Girl Doctor apple . but when it forms into sentece : Boy Girl doctor ask to eart APPLE .

  • very poorly done!!

  • what dose octave mean and how do i recognize them

  • it means you o up or down by twelve notes so from an open E to the 12 fret (E)that is one octave so every 12 notes is one octave

  • Comment removed

  • do e and b notes not ahve sharps on the guitar thanks for the awesome guides:D

  • yep! its the same for every musical instrument!

  • @waltribeiro i thought e and b have no sharps.. what comes after e and b is f and c respectively right?

  • Thanks!

  • Sight reading the stave on the guitar is like sight reading on 6 differently tuned pianos!

  • Trying to read sheet music but don't understand how to play a note on the guitar when there is a CIII or CVIII above the staff. For example, where would I play a G note with CIII above it?

  • Email me. I'm confused - can I see the sheet music?

  • that is an octave higher. say that you have a low e on guitar that would mean playing it one octave higher

  • Heres the memory trick I used to remember the open strings. (Don't take the phrase wordplay literal. It's what works for me)

Open Strings or the twelfth fret: "Every Army Denounces God Before Encounter"

and for the 5th fret I found this one

5th: "Adam Didn't Get Caught Eating Apples"

  • Works for me!

  • adam didn't get caught eating apples

adam didn't get caught eating apples

adam didn't get caught eating apples

    thanks :)

  • the open strings thing i used to remember was

Ernie Ate Dynamite Good Bye Ernie.

    lol i like yours too

  • @ALIVEWORKS that's actually a good one compared to mine which is

"every acid dealer gets busted eventually" lol your way to remeber is my new way :)

  • @ALIVEWORKS Elvis Ate Drugs Good Bye Elvis

  • @ALIVEWORKS dude thanks

  • Thanks So Much Its really simple to understand and thank you very much :D

  • Aww thx Blue Eyes! Subscribe for more. Talk soon!

  • Thank you very much for this video! The way you show it will help me save a lot of time when I start my sight reading exercises. But one question: the notes on a guitar are played on octave lower than they are on a piano, right? So instead of 'Middle C' being 5th string 3rd fret, it would be the 2nd string 1st fret, right? Thanks again.

  • You got it! Yep, that's right

  • Great thanks!

  • how can iread music sheets and play it on the guitar strings, any websites or advice are appreciated?

  • Go to my wesbite and check out the 'Video Charts' section. Its all free and it'll help you out so much!

but im trying to figure out scales and stuff like that and also trying to memorize note

  • is each dot on the guitar a regular note?

  • the dots are called fret markers. They simply tell you what number fret your on.. So for example the double dot means the 12th fret :)
