Super Street Fighter II Turbo has the best theme music out of all Street Fighters. We actually modded the PC version of SFIV and put in the SSFIIT music to make it feel authentic and like a real fight. THIS is spiritual fighting music!
Oh, and the old, old Ha-dououuu-ken! was the best, not that quick Hadoken!
@CeaselessOne yeh man those little things make a difference, ahhh the 90s, when they invent time machines, i'll go back to the early 90s and never come back.
blanka looks like a new york city subway rat. that grey hair with the railroad track poo color on his skin. wtf! i hate the announcer in this game. they should have kept the tough guy announcer from the original street fighter 2.
If I recall correctly, the reason why the AI's in this game and the arcade version are hard as hell is because they read your inputs. Any move you make, he AI can read it and will try it's best to counter it. In the Dreamcast port of this game though (only released in japan) the AI system is much better.
In super street fighter II for snes and mame, I can easily pass on normal difficulty but THIS game sucks balls because even on the lowest difficulty, i lose badly
@DJDementEatsBabies I thought i was the only one. It's awful. Even in the arcade. World Warrior, Champion Edition and Super Street Fighter II: New Challengers are the best.
The ps2 port of this game on Capcom Classics Vol2 is absolutley awful to play. Why did they mess around with the difficulty? No matter what setting you put it on, it is INSANELY difficult - even on one star!! What idiot did this? I only play the DC version or the MAME emulator port.
I got Street Fighter Alpha Anthology for my PAL ps2 with a burned ISO but I have a problem!
Pal Mode runs normal speed but I tried to move screen and change screen settings but it still wont show the life bar at bottom, it doesn look good cus it cant show all of the screen
Ntsc mode has all of the screen but it runs a bit slower and the game isn't as enjoyable!
why is this game so effing hard? i have the hyper street fighter on my psp through cps2. and it's hard even getting past the 5th person on the japan version and the 3rd person on the asia version. seriously. i even put it on the easiest level and it's still hard. this game is so broken
Man, SSF2: Turbo was the best SF2 rendition ever. New characters, new music, and just a great update overall. I'm so glad they remade this with HD Remix.
when i was a little kid and when i played the original sf2 when i beat somebody and the look on the person face and the sound the game made when i beat them scared the shit out of but when i got this one i thought it was gonna be scary...but it wasnt i thought the beat was cool after u beat them on this one
What happened to the old trick of just standing there pushing the quick punch button while Blanka tries to charge you with his "ball" attack and failing miserably? Wins it with perfect almost every time. Or jumping behind him as he stands up, tackle him, jump behind him again, rinse and repeat? But not that fun, so when you use that once or twice you just want to actually fight it. :P Although there were many tricks like that, this game remains one of my favourites. Best version is this one imo.
Actually "mastering" any fighting game is not easy. If it's easy for you to win it is for the same for your opponent. I personally love ST, even after all these years it is still challenging to play vs good competition. The damage is high, the game is quite fast, sometimes the game is a slug fest, other times opponents wait forever for the other guy to make a move. It's definitely not a "bad" game, in fact, it's quite good.
@christpunchers Yes, the games are awesome, Street Fighter 1 and 2 are legend so how can anyone say they're bad, those games pioneerd alot in fighter games today.
I prefer SF2 and SF. SF2 used to be played and practiced like a sport. Then, illegal hacks showed up, making Ryu capable of fireballing in mid air or throwing multiple fireballs at once. Then Capcom rushed out all these turbo and super turbo iterations PREMATURELY. Suddently, SF stopped feeling like a sport to practice with.
Fortunately, SF4 seems to have brought back that feeling.
Fighting games really should stay the same and unchanged -- for a long time. This gives players a chance t
a chance to rehearse, practice, study, and come back stronger. No one would want to practice and be competitive if they realize that the game will become outdated in a few months or years.
Once all the turbos and mini sequels appeared, almost everyone stopped SF competitively, at least in my area. Which is sad. I was so good at it at the time. People would flock me and even call their friends on the phone to come challenge me. I was a SF celebrity, sort of.
I stopped buying games for the PS3 after MGS4. But I just recently bought my first PS2 game -- Capcom classics, which includes the SF2 game. I'm surprised. After all these years, I swore that I hated SF and was sick and tired of the fireballs and uppercuts. But trying out SF2 for the first time today, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Surprising. I didn't barf as I thought I would.
I mean, after all those arcade hours, SNES port, and 3DO port, I thought I'd had enough of it. It's like eating the same meal every day or watching the same movie over and over again.
It's really the turbo's and super SF's that I dislike. They were rushed out prematurely. SF2 was good enough, until those iterations and the illegal hacks that allowed ryu and others to do bizarre attacks.
But unfortunately, noone here is going to agree with you. You, like a million other mainstream gamers, think SF2 was the best out of the series. Go post that bullshit in a place where mainstream gamers wallow in their own feces, i.e. Gametrailers and gamespot.
If you actually put in some effort onto learning a new character, and at the same time, learn how to take advantage of the hit box frames, priority, and new strategies, maybe you wouldn't dislike
the game. Coming from a long time, hardcore, SF elitist/fan; Street Fighter 2 was majorly flawed. There were many frame glitches, animation would slow down during combos, the gameplay was projectile friendly, and speed was God awfully slow. Having the Super updates come out was a good thing, because, quite frankly, I was getting tired of CPS1 music.
The only reason why you dislike the sequels is that the gameplay system cut the crap and simplicity, thus making it more techincal and have more
You're smart. You must have a 4.0 gpa. i GUESS that's the sole reason for disliking other versions. HA...!!!! in your face. I have no respect for you at all or your mind. Go away.
Just to show you how stupid you are, I hope you realize that I was considered the BEST in my area when THE later versions came out.
To SHOW YOU, there were crowds of at least 20 to thirty people lining up to play me during the next versions, all trying to beat me. They would even phone in their friends to come out and see me play. Idiot.
Oh wow, so you cornered people with projectiles and did shoryukens when they jumped towards you. To tell the truth, I don't give a fuck if you were the best in your area. If you think your hot shit, then face off against somebody on GGPO and film yourself defeating 13 other players.
Hating the updates of SF2 because people stopped caring is not a legitimate reason you fuckhead. I highly doubt that you're a pro unless you show me some proof that you are. And maybe then I'll validate your opinion on the updates of SF2. The cold truth is, that the updates are for the pros at Street Fighter.
And btw, SF4 is easy to play if you're one of those faggots who spam shoryukens and sweep kicks with Ken. And VF5 was the most simplistic out
The SNES port definitely has the gameplay down-pat! I would rival the two games, because even now the SNES version is talked about in a good light. I see where you are coming from and understand. The Super Nintendo made its' mark BIG time.
