Sorry but 64 bit operating systems do not help in improving the performance of gaming. Only specific programs take advantage of 64 bit capable systems.

true, but it allowes more ram memory to work on the game and many games today already are able to use along with system more than 3.something gigs, which is allowed to be used under 32 bit systems. True use of 64 bit is still very low and I dont actually know any game using this advantage, but it might be a question of near future.

not bad configuration, but 256MB on your videocard could do a big difference. I'm not sure how radeon performs, but I guess you won't have such framerate. And Vista 64 doesn't help to it. I have Win 7 64 and it works for me wayyy better. I'll definitely buy full version when released.

it's gonna be good, almost the same, but this frequency should be higher...some games still require even stronger CPU...

You cannot compare the processor like that, a 2.0 GHz processr will already meet the cut off for ths game so it'll run it as good, if you're considering future games then you need to ponder over the processor, however, a 2.0 GHZ Core 2 Duo should be fine for like the next 5 years atleast.

I meant mainly console conversion of games, because they lack an optimalization and require pretty strong CPU to run it, but still I know that GPU is the most important part of HW to play games, but without sufficient power of CPU it could be useless ;)

cod4 running on window vs osx. osx is WAYYYYYYYYY smoother on the same hardware. and takes up less resources.

I have moved on to windows 7. its vista with a dock (how original) and it has direct x 11 with less resources then vista. i will use this until more companies start making more games for osx... then fair well windows!

i wouldn suggest "downgrading" to dx10 regularly, i've got more Fps with dx10 than with dx9 (gf8800gtx) ... but nice, i got myself a notebook with c2d 8400, 9600m and 4gig ram ... looking forward playing this game :)

try upgrading your system bios and downgrade (if any upgrade was made to your vid drivers) the video card and you will be able to overclock. amazing how far this card goes actually

do you play it with dx9 or dx10 in the game. go to options display and then change it to dx9, then you will get much more fps.
