No, I fab up all sorts of combinations to create my own sound. Something every drummer should do... great creative exercise, not to mention it inspires and motivates you to play.
@joshuag94 I've messed around with the DrumDial but never used it on a regular basis. Early on in my career it became clear to me that "tonal" ear training would enhance my drum experience. When I graduated out of Hartt School of Music I quit drums for 10 years to play Vibraphone... studied with the best..GARY BURTON. One of the most important career decisions I ever made. Rhythm & Tonality...like peanut butter & jelly... sing, sing ....sing!
It's a Noble & Cooley kit. I designed NC products for 16 years then switched to DW about 4 years ago upon licensing the BOA design to them. Both, great companies and drums!
Cool...I worked for NC for 16 years... great drums!

Are so Mahogany shells or Ebony shells?
They sound very full.

Agreed, soft woods are famous for that type of sound. Like the older Ludwig "Poplar" shells as well.

Yes. Go to the mov. "Drummers Only" "QUIK-TIPS" Pt. 1 BD-SNR-CYM where I explain how I transform old cymbals into useful sounds.
