  • way over priced ? it was the worlds fastest four door sedan in 71

  • best car ever i would push my mother off a cliff for one of these man the puss i would get in this haha

  • the ph3 was the king, yes a torana got lucky due to wet conditions, the chargers never won a bathurst, any one thinking the ho was over rated for its time probably was`nt around then or has never driven one.

  • @mikldude yes i ve driven one there extremely overated beaten by a xu-1, fastest 4 door in the world is no big deal there was tons of yank muscle at the time or even before then that could blow the doors of a phase 3.

  • @67675656565655656565

yes i`ve driven them as well , and your entitled to your opinion, on a dry track the xu1 would`nt have a hope, as for the yank muscle , i don`t know of any big horse sedans you drive out of the show room on to the race track in that era comparable to the gt.

theres plenty of footage on youtube of the old gts out accelerating everything includeing chargers and xu1`s. have a nice day.

  • @mikldude wow its a 4 door thats amazing its only got to extra doors than a coupe. That just makes it even more overated basically a sedan with go fast bits. Had the yanks put there engines into there 4 door family sedans they would ve blown the doors of phase 3's. Chargers were the fastest sixes in australia for 20 years and qtr times were faster than phase 3's.Phase 3's also couldnt handle for shit thats why the xu1 beat it. Bottomline is phase 3 is extremely overated simple fact.

  • @67675656565655656565 i have magazines that show other wise but i won`t bother, your obviousely a charger /torana fan boy or you would`nt be spamming all over tube, so we will agree to disagree, have a nice day.

  • @67675656565655656565 sorry mate i owned a xa 2502v 6cyl coupe 170bhp standard brought out to beat mid range v8's and it did.....every charger i draged standard or done up i beat. the 2v had a better top speed and slightly better pick up...but the most important thing was it was a ford. yanky sixes were shit thats why they were importing our heads off our sixes and calling them trick heads. as for chargers the only decent one they made was the 360 police pursuit.

  • @67675656565655656565 you said and i quote " had the yanks put there engines into there 4 door family sedans they would ve blown the doors of phase 3's" ....but they fucking didnt did they..cockhead.

  • it might be boxy but it is an awsome car to drive or to be in when driving it is a head truner for sure.yes im a ford fan so what

  • Im a holden fan but GTHO's are a classic,

  • Gotta love the sound of that 351 cleveland!

  • The fastest 4 door off the production line.and bloody good on the eye too.

  • me and my mate would steal phase 3's and other aussie muscle cars back in the late 70s.The get rid of the bodies at the tip should ve kept owell.

  • @atho80 if such a great car why did it get beaten by a xu1 retard ?

  • fugly car

  • Comment removed

  • fuk thAts a nice car i love falcon gt my pop use to own 2 falcon gt but that was in the old days

  • wasnt the whole appeal of owning aussie muslce that the average schmoo could own a cheap and fast high performace vechicle. When they couldnt afford say a lambo or ferrari

  • people are always going to have different views about the price of these cars, i mean go back 5 years, no one even wanted to be seen in a xw-xb fairmont, nowadays we're all buying them for 15k +.

just the way of the world i guess. however as for the car itself. iguess it is worth whatever that "1" person is willing to spend in order to own it.

  • way over priced

  • your 100 percent correct amc ripped of its buyers.I dont think the younger generations will be paying 650k for a old falcon.Who knows maybe rare skylines and vl turbos might be the next collectors items.

  • no way you wish you could sit in one dont you

  • how can it be over priced

do you have one for sale for less and

    remember they

    were

    FIRST

    ON RACE DAY

    DAY

    DAY

  • actually with the torana win luck fell their way on race day on the day they were lucky thats the only reason they got the win, as far as road cars go neither the torana or charger were even close to a grand tourer compared to the xy gt ....hence the high value, not to mention the race heritage.

  • i hateeee the way this guy speaks..

  • the phase 4 is actualy a xa and yes there were 4 of them but 1 got totaled in sydney and who cares about the driver its the car that is a the real loss

  • I can't help but wonder why people argue about the worth of any car regardless of what make it is, The value of a car is not determined by anything other than what someone is willing to pay to own it, people that buy these cars are buying their childhood dream, how much would you pay to fulfill your dream whatever that maybe? Think about it.

  • I think so to take off the tags and it a mint tuff $40,000 car

  • Exactly they ain't making anymore of these anymore. Some people would go out and pay outlandish prices for new cars. To me new cars are rubbish, a money pit. Old cars were made with passion and had character. If you ever get nostalgic about something price won't matter :).

  • this seller is dreaming i think he's askin 650k or so and had it for sale for months.I bet he has more of a chance of winning lottery than selling that car at that price.

  • 6767565???? or whatever the fuck your name is dickhead, you are obviously a holden fan, and pissed off that a 71 falcon could command such prices. Do your homework fuckhead, the fastest four door in the world, until the VN crappydore, 20 years later

  • no i like chryslers, holdens, fords.I am not one of those dickheads who just likes fords.I just think its dumb paying 650k for a falcon with some add bits. That got flogged by a xu-1 torana at bathurst in 72' which was a 6.I know fuckhead it was the fastest 4 door. But big fucking deal its only got 2 extra doors. If the yanks put there running gear from the hot muscle cars at the time into a family sedan body.I am sure it would have blown the doors of a gtho.Fuck a charger could beat it.

  • YOU MUST own A daewoo FOOL

    FORDS

    RULE

    so dont be uncool

  • there ripoffs now

  • very true, monaro's and torana's are going for $100 or $200, so a dickhead would probably settle for that. throw an extra 5k on for a phase 3.

  • Comment removed

  • yep I researched it and you are right, only 3 left......so I guess we wont be able to buy a phase 4 or 5 till we save up a bit....thanks for the info

  • Fastest 4 door in the world (family car) at the time - maybe still (go weep Holden booyzzz ).

  • FORDS RULE

    FIRST

    ON

    RACE

    DAY

  • @1971fordfan or FuckedOnRaceDay

  • @malmac62 i am a true ford fan but the xygt wasnt really the fastest 4 door at all,in 1968 mercedes benz brought out a 4 door

300sel 6.8l that run 14.3s 1/4mile and the gt could only manage 14.4 sorry its sad but true.

  • @1971fordfan - ah, but was the 6.8-litre 300SEL a one-off, a limited run or a volume model? How many were built? There had to be at least 250 Phase 3s built, or they wouldn't have raced at Bathurst.

  • @JBofBrisbane sorry i wasnt talking about bathurst i was reffering to 1/4 mile speeds and 4 door producton cars you might also remember the e49 charger was just as quick down the 1/4 14.3 they both ran but the charger got to 100mph in 14.1 the gt 14.3 but again that was a 2 door with heaps less cubes????wtf lol like i say im a true ford fan but the fact about these cars is way over rated

  • thats very interesting mate, where did you get your information?

  • There were only 2 phase 3 falcons made, fred gibson and alan moffat race cars, only one of them exists today, check with ford Australia or Motoring News

  • na your thinkin of the phase 4. the phase 4 was banned before preduction started as it was too fast. phase 3 falcon are rare though, it will set you back around $500000-1000000 to buy one.

  • I read the article in the Australian Motoring News along with pics of the existing phase 3. I Checked with Ford Australia as I didn't believe there was only one left, they confirmed it and mentioned that petrolheads still like to call them phase 3. I had an XB 2 door, I just called it a falcon. The fords of that era were awesome no matter what name we gave them
