All I wish Dr Hurwitz much luck and that he will lead Galllaudet all the way. Once he gets through the hurdle, then Gallaudet will be able to focus on expanding a lot of new ideas for deaf education and to make the university a great place for intelligent deaf people to attend.

Gallaudet will start realizing academic rigor (integrity is not enough) when parents of deaf won't have chances to gloat about their barely teenage children being smart enough for matriculation at Gallaudet. I was mortified when I received this news before 11. Gallaudet had prestige during my parents years in DC (1940-50s). I was so embarrassed sitting for the Honors Program entrance examination with GPA of C- and far less than 1000 on SATs. GU need to root out last of their own Deaf and Dumb.

That is what I thought of Dr. Hurwitz's issue. Do you know why? He did not enroll gallaudet and get experience with Gallaudet yet. Plus he graduated from CID. Sorry, it may be out of order! I agree with you 100!
